Su Jinzhi was Jian Fanghan’s lover. The entire entertainment industry knew this, and they also scorned their existence.

Jian Fanghan had his own beloved white moonlight, but Su Jinzhi didn’t mind. As long as he could stay by Jian Fanghan’s side, he was happy.

However, seeing Jian Fanghan’s meticulous care and devotion towards his white moonlight finally broke Su Jinzhi’s heart.

Su Jinzhi didn’t want to continue like this anymore, so he asked Jian Fanghan for a breakup.

Jian Fanghan simply replied, “When were we ever together? Su Jinzhi, you overestimate yourself.”

“…”

After a period of dejection, Su Jinzhi decided to focus on his career.

Jian Fanghan readily agreed on the surface, but secretly cut off all of Su Jinzhi’s connections and resources in the entertainment industry.

When Su Jinzhi confronted him, Jian Fanghan instead confined him to a room, loosening his tie and approaching him step by step. “Breaking up is fine, but you have to sleep with me.”

He was even threatened to stay by Jian Fanghan’s side, to be his kept man, to watch him and his white moonlight get engaged.

Su Jinzhi grew increasingly despondent and finally, unable to bear it any longer, slit his wrists on the day of their engagement.

That night, Jian Fanghan went mad.

Su Jinzhi left the entertainment industry and opened a bakery. Jian Fanghan visited him every day, not daring to approach, just watching from afar.

After that, Su Jinzhi was constantly trending online.

The bakery was always crowded, Jian Fanghan’s presence a living advertisement.

The bakery’s daily earnings went from hundreds, to thousands, to tens of thousands, to hundreds of thousands…

Su Jinzhi didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore and told him, “Stop doing this. We’re impossible.”

Then Jian Fanghan, a grown man, just… cried???

So this is story is pure dogblood, top wife-chasing crematorium. This relationship is toxic af, ML starts out as unadulterated tr*sh and MC, while lovable, is a doormat -- especially in the first half.

But you know what, this is exactly what I'm here for and this story absolutely delivers. The drama is drama'ing, MC gets vindicated and the ML does get schooled - 1000% deserved, he suffers greatly and it is *chef's kiss*. Major TW for self-harm and attempted s**cide though - it does become ridiculous at one point, in... more>> the last quarter of the book, ML keeps going in and out of hospitals for multiple issues. He's also a giant yandere.

Spoiler

Thankfully, he does get therapy at some point, though it's debatable whether it's actually to really work on his mental health (which does end up in the gutter, this ML SUFFERS) or if it's just an excuse to illustrate the depth of his suffering more, lol. I did feel bad for him, even though it is entirely deserved.

[collapse]

MC is a sweetheart who starts out as a doormat, but does end up realizing his worth, he does get some character growth by the end. It's all quite satisfying and the amount of dogblood, while ridiculous, also delivers in the "pulling at your heartstrings" department. If that's what you're looking for, you're going to have a great time. The author does a very decent job with this story.

Also, at some point, it looks like it's going to be a BE, but it's a HE. <<less

Made me cry my heart out. I specially logged in my account in the middle of the night just to write a review for this heartbreaking novel.

MAJOR SPOILER: IT'S H.E.

This is not a perfect novel. It has many drama and incidents that felt a little ridiculous Orz BUT I'm rating this a 5star just because I enjoyed it. Subjectively speaking, I like how the ML truly groveled and it took them years to truly have that happy ending. MC also wasn't cruel to the ML — unlike the other wife-chasing... more>> crematorium MC novels I've read — which is a breath of fresh air and truly shows how much he loves the ML, genuinely, wholeheartedly. But he wasn't a doormat, not at all. All the heartache from their relationship was even out. And it made me actually pity both of them, especially their unstable mental state (more of the ML's). I was happy with the ending and that final phone call really made me sob and drench my pillow with tears. That happy ending was well worth it.

Next up, still subjectively speaking, I had higher expectations with the white moonlight's character. I was left a bit disappointed with her personality. Sure, ML's relationship had nothing to do with her and she did treat ML like a true brother, but how can she just do nothing especially when they're bound to be engaged/married? She knew that ML does love MC and if she truly did treat him like a brother, she should've at least talked to ML and considered his collapsing relationship. Being heartbroken *sigh* well she was also a bit mentally unstable by that time herself doesn't exactly justify her lack of action (not total lack of action because she did have a part with fuelling the flames of chaos). And I'm not forgetting the birthday party scene either! Can't believe she have a friend like that! Nor she's okay with doing things like that! Ugh imma puke🤮.

Another one, still subjective, the only good friend ML had was Han Feng! (Does he have his own story? I'm intrigued🤩). Mr. Lu was *shrug* just okay. He was a good friend but erm, y'all understand if you read this novel. Xiao Liu was such a superstar! Good girl! The mom's of both MC and ML were admirable. MC's dad meh, what an a-hole. Wei Kai, you poor poor man, hoping ML pays you enough to deal with all their shit🤣. Special mention to ML's mama Li who took care of MC during the timeS ML brought home MC.

Lastly, ML you dumdum but I forgive you. My heart truly and genuinely ached for you. MC kudos to you! How brave! These two deserve each other. I like your story.

Recommended for angst with redemption seekers, likers of pathetic criers protagonist, can face dramatic incidents, and just about anyone who can tolerate psychological instability. Again this novel is not perfect, ML and MC is FAR from perfect but I liked their journey so, to each their own. Please give this novel a chance, but you've been warned ahead of time. <<less

More like 3.75 than 4.

The first half kinda makes me uneasy and I have to switch to fluffier, lighter novel to read.

But, it necessary to set up the drama and push the story.

... more>> Until 3/4 of the story, I wish for them to not end up together. Both MC and ML hurt each other so much, it's better for them not to be together.

At the end of the story, they both deserve each other. The author did a good job on even out their karma scales.

This is a good story for ugly cry. <<less
