The way I'd describe this is a fun and relaxing read.

I'm almost caught up on raws, and was pretty interested because it's popular. It's easy to read and keeps you going.

The primary "pros" of this series include:

• Not isekai
• Unique premise (he starts off blind)
• No harem

The interactions are well done, and it's interesting to see MC's growth.

It subverts most of the tropes found in isekai. The thing is, it's just that. There's no huge underlying plot, mysteries, twists, either. It's a good read to pass time.

Solid 4/5 for me, though people looking for "Action" and "Adventure" will be disappointed. If you like stories about OP protagonists constantly surprising people and being surprised at them being surprised, this is basically a condensed version of that... to the verge of parody, so people who are tired of the genre might still get a kick out of it.

Despite the lack of plot (treat it as a somewhat fast slice of life), the many quirky characters sell it with their personalities. I typically dislike "OP protagonist who lacks common sense and gets scolded for doing amazing things" but this novel gives solid reasons for him to lack common sense and solid reasons for him to be scolded, and he doesn't make the same exact mistake twice (yet).

My only reservation is that you should have read several "OP reincarnated child" novels first before reading this. Not because it refers to any of them specifically, and this protagonist isn't a reincarnator, but because it subverts or parodies several of those tropes and it won't be as funny if you didn't read stories about OP kids (whether you liked them or not). <<less

Overall, it's pretty good but lacks a clear goal. At first, it gives you a unique feeling with the MC being blind, but after the MC goes to magic school, the story becomes stagnant.

During the school arc (up to chapter 200+), the story heavily focuses on magic development. Meanwhile, ordinary people seem incapable of thinking outside the box—only the MC and a few select characters can. Sometimes, the author drops bits of lore, but mostly just hints. I can't grasp where the story is heading. A war between countries? Uncovering the truth about magic? Or just everyday life? It feels like the MC's main goal is simply to graduate from magic school. Imagine Harry Potter without Lord Voldemort that's what it feels like. <<less

To be honest, it's a very good story to relax, I like the protagonist's personality and I love his jokes. The characters are well written and each has interesting personalities, their conversations and interactions are hilarious. The only problem that I (in my opinion) didn't like was the womanizing side of the protagonist, it's the only problem for me, other than that, I loved it

first, lets talk about the summary. Imo, the summary didn't do justice with what makes this novel good, nor what this novel is about. Depicting it as if this story is mainly about some OP kid doing OP stuff. Nope. This novel talks about process instead of throwing you right into a result (which usually this kind of novel shows MC bullheading its way through every problem because he is OP), about how his child like excitement and interest toward magic become a building block that forms his relation with people closest to him, his teacher, his fiance, and his friends. And how OP MC tries to solve his brilliant but normal friend to stand on their own and solve their own problem without being overly reliant on him, and lets them develop as a character, instead of just being an other property within the novel.

what I find interesting with this novel is that

• the characters have their own color instead of just being there to show that MC is OP
• this reminds me of stories of old where the actual purpose of the story is about the adventure that happens instead of the end result of the adventure
• a love interest that actually there to support MC and not just being a damsel in distress. She knows and realize that MC is OP, so she decides to help him on other path to cover her shortcoming
• author succeeded in depicting child-like fascination of a child toward something that a child loves
