This is a cute and sweet story, a social and friendly but very weak MC x a very strong but anti-social and clueless ML

Like other reviews said the MC can read minds but it's not very op because he doesn't have the strength to back it up, he loves gossip so mostly he's using it to figure out who is sleeping with who lol

Hilarious and fun with great translation.

The MC is an adorable young master who may not have the best martial arts skills but is determined to raise the sect he joined from complete dilapidation. He’s a cute sweetie honestly, with a stroke of a young master’s willfulness when it comes to certain matters.

The ML may first seem like the typical cool, capable, and stoic love interest, and while he may be those things, he’s the cutest of them all: overly serious, a bit confused when it comes to social interactions, and... more>> falls into a daze every now and then.

The MC and ML’s interactions are sweet, they spoil each other in their own ways. Their getting together was fitting for two people navigating their first experience with love as well: a little flustered, not knowing what to do, and occasionally running away from the intense emotions.

The side characters were distinct and the hidden storylines were enjoyable as well.

I only wish it were longer, that we were given more time to spend with all these characters. There weren’t enough—story fluff, i.e. The sect going on odd jobs, coming across a case/gossip that isn’t related to the main plot, and etc.

Another example is one of the side CPs, their getting together was amusing and I wish the author walked us through that while it was happening and not just shown the tail end of it.

It felt too straightforward and focused only on seeing the plot through the end, not expanding the surroundings to make the story and the world feel fuller.

Still, though, this was an enjoyable read and the translation is amazing so I’ll definitely reread this later after it’s completed! <<less

The MC’s ability is not useless, especially since it helped him save his sect members, as well as the entire righteous path. That said, he couldn’t exactly go around spilling all the “gossips” he picked up through his ability, since most of it was either top-secret or about as exciting as a wet dish rag. Sure, the MC is not flashy, but at least he uses his brain, doesn’t recklessly put people in danger, and doesn’t act like he’s the chosen one destined to save the world. He’s actually quite... more>> relatable, and he complements the ML’s personality surprisingly well. Speaking of ML, he’s such a cinnamon roll, but he might feel a bit dull if you’re into the cold, domineering type of ML.

While the story isn’t romance-centered, the MC and ML are still so fluffingly cute together.

As for the villain,

He was up against the number one martial artist, the leader of the righteous sect (basically number two), and the leader of the demon sect (also number two). With opponents like that, dragging out the final showdown would have been unnecessary and illogical.

It’s not mind-blowing, nor worldview-shattering, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless. Good for passing the time, but if you’re looking for a serious wuxia novel and deep romance, this isn’t it. <<less

I wanted to give 3 stars for this novel, but because of one consideration I made it 4 stars.

MC is not a typical MC op who can do a lot of things, he joined a small, poor sect with only 4 people in it, MC can read other people's minds, but it's also not very useful other than just gossiping and he keeps most of the gossip to himself, his character is very boring.

What made me keep reading this novel was ML, because he was cute and looked like an... more>> autistic person with a mysterious side because MC couldn't read his mind at the beginning. He is a 23 year old young man but doesn't know anything about the world. His martial arts skills are great and his luck is strong, heaven protects and supports him even in his love affair with MC.

I don't know whether the ending was too rushed or not, what is clear is that the villain was resolved in a few sentences by the author. <<less
