Gu Xueyi was born into a family of generals and was the master of the Sheng family, the one person in charge of a family of 400. But when she woke up, she had transmigrated into a novel and was the ex-wife to be of the male lead and doomed to die early.

Looking at the four siblings of her husband, Gu Xueyi frowned and thought: “Back in the day, the sons of the Sheng family were able to go to battle, to become generals, to conquer the Imperial court and become officials. All of them were useful men, so why are those bigshots in the modern day so useless?”

Whether her husband wants a divorce or not, first she has to teach these idiots the right way!

Months later, the missing husband returned to the Yan family.

Yan Weijia, who had just received the Movie Emperor award: “The person I am the most grateful for is my sister-in-law and the person I love the most is also her.”

Yan Weshu, a famous celebrity that had just entered a prestigious university: “The person I am the most grateful for is my sister-in-law and the person I love the most is also her.”

Yan Wenhong, who just won a gold medal for his country: “The person I am the most grateful for is my sister-in-law…”

Yan Wenbo, holding his diploma: “The person I am the most grateful to is my sister-in-law…”

Even the Yan’s former enemy said in a public interview: “The woman I admire the most is Ms. Gu Xueyi.”

Everyone: ???

Yanchao: ??? Am I green??

Only then he found out that his unruly and hateful wife had become the dream woman that everyone wanted to marry and that they were all waiting for him to divorce.

Hello, I am the translator!

I have read a few of the author's stories and this one is my favorite. From an objective point of view, it has a lot of flaws but I really really enjoyed it.

    • MC is perfect, and by that I really mean perfect. But I did not find her annoying one bit because her ancient times bearing and arrogance simply inspire respect from others
    • I really like the complex family relationships, it really felt like ancient times in modern settings and I did not find that MC had any comptent for either concubines or illegitimate children. Really, it would be more for the husbands themselves.
    • Her in laws do like her very much but except for one of them, they all see her as a mother figure more than anything. She basically is the first person to show them some respect and some warmth -at first because she felt it was her duty which became genuine care later.
    • I haven't tagged it reverse harem but it could be considered one. Multiple men are attracted to her. But more than that, they admire her, borderline worship her. None of them really act on their feelings or pester her in any way. It's more like they are attracted to the fact that she commands their respect.
    • ML...
Spoiler

... is her husband and is MIA most of the story but

Spoiler

basically knows right away she is not the woman he married. I really liked this part because I don't understand how characters are usually so oblivious.

[collapse]

My favorite part about their romance is that (big spoiler that happens in the 15 last chapters or so)

Spoiler

they divorce. They eventually get remarried in the first extra but MC asks for a divorce because she never married him in the first place. Even if she did like him already, she felt like she had stolen her original body's husband and that basically their marriage was not legit but also she felt like she had to be someone more that just the madam. ML was not happy with this but he accepted because he understood that was what she wanted.

I really loved this part of the story because I had never seen it happen before. Not only MC made a very logical decision but ML just let her and did not try to coerce her into staying.

And in the end, he still got her back.

[collapse]
[collapse]

    • The book actually talk a bit about mental health. The author does not go too much into it but it is taken seriously.
Spoiler

At first it does feel it was just added for the MC's halo but it felt more real afterwards.

The author seems to tackle some real issues in most of their stories. The latest ones talked about sl*t shaming and double standards, but that's another story (with another perfect heroine).

[collapse]

I'm not sure how to conclude this review because it went all over the place. But I hope you will enjoy it if you decide to give it a try!

Wow, looking back, I just realized that this novel carried a little bit of China party/ ccp propaganda. Nationalism was stated in the tag, but the setting of 1. blaming the England man as the mastermind of the drug trafficking, 2. the hateful statement that America just got its independence of 200 years compared to China more than 4000 years and America is the superpower country instead of China, 3. the potrayal of the ML's European playboy.... Miserable life and family, then, 4. As the ML... more>> was trapped in Africa/ south Africa... black Africans were just potrayed as 'dumb' there. Dang, I was just too naive.

Hahahaha, good job propaganda & the spirit of selfish nationalism.

My comment: my country was invaded by Dutch, Japan, England, Mongolia etc; my nation can curse these evil invaders, but we choose to forgive and 'forcefully' forget. But this China propaganda, so low, they disgraced other countries/ race. Ungrateful and unrespectful.

Previous review: DEC 14 2020

The texts felt distance. The author didn't want to explore more and gave you a vague feelings of uncertainess.

The story is okay until chapter 90s, then it went upside down. The FL would go back to the ancient times as well as the ML to rescue her. Damn.

The story (the novel) is an AI kindofthings that ruled by a system. The original heroine, Yu XiaoXiao, is a harmless girl but had a tremendous heroine hallo that is annoying.

Overall the story is super good which described the relationship between FL and the younger in-laws until chapter 80s/90s. FL is cold and decisive and smart and all, and she teaching her younger in-laws toward the right path is so warming. FL is a leader of her own, and can easily influence others toward what she wants, for good of course, but ultimately for her own benefits at least.

Later on......., SO maxed confusing and not interesting at all. There are new character etc and it is just a truly truly cannon fodder for the FL and ML here.

Worth reading and not worth reading after later. <<less

This story are among those ego-feeding novels, Protagonist is omnipotent and everyone likes her (of course except those Villains).

What made me uncomfortable about this is like ALL MALES that sees her will be attracted to her 100% like they haven't seen a female. The thing is, this included her brother-in-laws.

A large part of the story would focus on the thirsty thoughts of males about her, on how beautiful she is, how red her lips are, those curves... yada yada.

BUT if you filter those negatives (which are quite hard) the story... more>> is quite okay since the Protagonist is really likeable and heroic in the things she did. <<less

Well, I was enjoying reading this but there were too many "filipino maids/servants" words thrown in there that stopped me from enjoying it any further. I would have let it slide if there's only one or two but damn, apparently, the author enjoys using those words too much. So I stopped reading this lol

Call me petty but yeah, it just rubs me off wrong. Reeks of feeling of superiority tbh.

But hey, other than that, this would do for some mindless reading. Too mary sue but sometimes, you just need to... more>> read something that doesn't have too much drama. I thought this would be another one of those for me but unfortunately not. <<less

I changed my rating to 4 from 5. Don't get me wrong, the translator is amazing, the story is also great. But....

First, I think that the FL is quite a Mary Sue since powerful men seemed to really adore her. But, hey, if there are a lot of bad Mary Sues, this one... can be tolerated. I feel torn because at one point, I love this story with it's FL, ML, and plots. But at another point, this novel really makes me want to quit or throw my laptop to... more>> the walls (which I will never do since this is my only one). At least those men didn't just fall in love with her at the first sight with no reason, (it's still the same trope of Oh-She-Seems-To-Be-Very-Interesting-And-Different-From-Before-I-Have-To-Look-Out-For-Her though). Since her character still had flaws and a likeable personality, I don't mind to continue this novel.

Uh... second, I feel uncomfortable with the plot starting from chapter 74 (the part when Yan Wenhong had a competition abroad). There are several things that make me very uncomfortable and I try my best to keep reading and I can only survive by skipping the chapters or skimming through them. I'm afraid I won't be able to continue. Hey, hey, doesn't mean it's a bad story, it's just one of the cons of CN novels that is oftentimes critized (uh.. for a good reason). CN novels readers, I'm sure you'll understand what I'm talking about. Also, the novel keeps mentioning X servant this, X servant that. I mean, I can understand it if it's only mentioned a couple times for clarifications or such, e.g: That servant looked like she's from X or that servant looked like she's an X.--- it's more acceptable. But then again, this isn't the first novel to do so (or just skip the chapters like I did).

Well, I only survive for the bondage between FL and the siblings though.

The characters have their own charms and I think that's a good thing. Of course, the are also cliches (e.g supporting characters looking down on FL only to get exposed and sent to prison.)

But I appreciate the siblings characters' developments. Just like how Wenjia finally found that sense of belonging inside his family and like how he slowly unburdened the weight on his heart because his mother's guilt towards him. Wenhong who was trying his best to use his IQ for something good. Wenbo who had stopped his prodigal lifestyle since someone actually cared about his life. Wenshu who tried to learn from her mistakes and work hard to be someone to be proud of. The cold and lonely Yan Mansion finally gained warmth.

ML is decent, not a scum. His inner dialougues are funny. I still don't know much from him though. FL adapted quite well, but I can see how her previous world still had a deep root inside her mind. She was still holding onto the thoughts of her era.

By the way, I'd like to say that the novel's plot can be quite unrealistic or too much, but the author had stated in some of her chapters that it won't be this easy irl and it's just fiction. So, I don't think I need to write that here, since the author herself had confirmed about it.

Oh, one last thing. I find it weird (and I may never understand it) that FL looked down on concubines (side wives?) and illegimate child but she actually had no bad thoughts about the younger siblings. Weird isn't it?

I think this novel is good enough but whether you'll enjoy it or not, you have to try it by yourself. Personally, this isn't my cup of tea, but I can't deny that it's bad or really bad. It simply has flaws and some things that I can't accept, but you may be able to. Also, if the reviews make you hesitate, then you can compare the pros and cons before reading or dropping this. Try the first chapters, and if you don't mind, it's also okay to start checking from the chapters that people have reviewed (e.g: I don't really like the competition arc starting from the 74th chapter, you can try checking those chapters, thenn check other arcs/ chapters to decide whether you mind it or not) <<less

It’s very bland. You feel a disconnect from everything, you don’t really feel like rooting for the MC. I thought it was interesting that it was the reverse of the usual “modern goes to ancient times” I’ve only read two other books like that so far. The execution is just lacking. Maybe it’s because you’re looking at everything through a cold character’s pov but like she doesn’t struggle much or care much. She’s doing her duty to protect & raise the family, even though she doesn’t really care about them... more>> only thinking they’re a little dumb and need to be straightened out. And it’s sad how little it takes for them to fold, all she’ll do is send a text or sends a bit of food and the boys were falling over themselves. It was a bit more understandable when she went out to support them or rescue them but for the most part she was so low effort. A lot has happened yet you’re not attached to any of them.

The men getting attracted to her, why? She’s a pretty ice beauty?? They are so quick to forget the OG’s actions because of it. I’m not saying they can’t like her changes but surely it should take some time. The ML was off screen so far though I’m still not sure if he’s going to follow the original plot before it goes off track.

i got bored. Dropped 🤷‍♀️ <<less

Amusing and easy read. There wasn’t any tension, as the FL handles every situation flawlessly. Despite that, I liked her personality - very firmly ethical, family oriented and careful to cultivate her “juniors” into being better people without forcing them. The relationship with her siblings-in-law was hilarious, as they were always fighting among each other for her praise and attention.

There were some moments where it was very clear nationalism was rearing its ugly head, but overall I found it tolerable. I did have to laugh at the portrayal of westerners... more>> as gun obsessed and generally involved in drug smuggling. I about died when they even brought endangered animals to shoot on the cruise ship, and it just glosses over the fact that they brought a GIRAFFE. On the ship. To shoot. Uh, what?

I ended up MTLing the majority of it, so I definitely missed some parts, but it was enough to get the gist. <<less

The story is pretty basic but not gonna lie, it got me hooked that I ended up MTLed the rest of it.

The FL is most definitely a mary sue. She's perfect in every way and everyone and I mean everyone respect and admired her. For those that didn't, I think you can guess what kind of ending they got. I'll admit, it was pretty satisfying to see her girlbossing her way throughout the story but it became pretty boring after a while because she's basically flawless and has the... more>> personality of a wooden chair. I also think it's a missed opportunity to not explore more on the fact that she transmigrated from a completely different era yet we barely see her struggling or even seeing her view of the world clashing with the modern standard. It literally took her a single day to accept it and never even thought about returning. It's also implied that she was married in the past but we literally never see her mention anything about her previous husband.

As for the ML, he's pretty boring to be honest. He didn't really show up until the middle of the story but he instantly fell for her. The romance was meh, I sense more chemistry from the FL and Jiang Yue rather than the ML.

Besides that, the nationalism and patriotism in this story is very strong. I don't think that patriotism is a bad thing, but the Chinese superiority mindset is very apparent in the story. I also don't see the reason why the author has the need to specify the nationality of a servant in the later chapters (during the american arc) *repeatedly* when it literally has no relevance whatsoever to the story. This including the superiority mindset irks me so much while reading.

The fact that the other Yan family members competed against each other for the FL's affection was also very cringe (mind you, they were literally adults) and it's kinda hard to read it. Not Yan Wenshu though, I lovedd her.

All in all, I hated it overall but it's interesting enough to keep me reading and I enjoyed most of it.

I give it 3.5 as a rating. I didn't want to rate it a 4 because I think that's too high so I rated it as a 3. <<less

Honestly I did quite enjoy reading the story which is why I gave it 4 stars but there were a few things that I disliked about the story.

1. The FL is OP, almost Mary-Sue with the way things go well for her. She came from a prestigious family in the past and a line of noble generals and she was brought up well. She even married into another noble family in the ancient timeline and grew up educating the family members well as far as I can tell from her... more>> reminiscing. So I assume this FL has years of experience in navigating how to deal with rich brats and illegitimate children. So she is often very calm in dealing with people and quite emotionless. I find this to be quite dull as the way the author writes is quite lacking at times. Author does not describe character emotions well, and for our calm FL, it makes her seem even more like an android pretending to be a human. In fact, she learns quickly to adapt to modern world and any new activites like using guns, parachute... She rarely shows weaknesses except to the ML just to show that he is “special” and sees her at her weakest and protects her. It kinda gets boring when our FL is too amazing and yet, we never know how she feels when dealing with things. Also when she divorces the ML in the middle of the story, I feel that she never explained much to the other siblings that adore her so much and they had to find out through social media. Like, she just thought of them as tasks she needed to do and make them go the right path. She might be fond of them but she doesn’t seem to have deep feelings. Her detachment made me feel isolated from the story. I couldn’t connect with her, which made this just an okay read when it could be better.

2. Some side characters are fun with their own quirks but most of them are quite dull. Like Jian Qianming, Jiang Yue. They’re just there to be the 2nd MLs but don’t have vivid personalities that make me want to root for or support them.

3. This story also has a lot of China is the best, nationalism subplot which is kinda draggy to me. Especially the part where FL and ML goes abroad and is caught up in some power war and got on a ship and started playing with guns. Oh Lord I wanted to skip so badly because it was just so overbearing with the nationalism aspect. Not really a fan.

4. Ending felt a biy abrupt to me. Would like a bit of extras about their future but oh well.

All in all, an okay read. <<less

I find it hard connecting with the characters. The plot is alright. If it wasn’t for the fact that the characters are cold it might have been enjoyable. The FL is a Mary Sue but it’s hard to bond with her because the author never shares her feelings to the audience so she appears like a goddess with no feelings. The ML hasn’t appeared yet but I doubt he’ll be interesting.

ill see if I keep reading the novel till the end but if I do I’ll come back and update... more>> my comments. <<less

Plot-wise, it's very interesting. The writing is also good. FL is awesome and strong, but is a blank canvas in terms of romance. ML who's also strong spoils and accommodates FL very much.

I love how FL is very heroic and upright. She's calm and straightforward in her actions. She's fair to herself and others. She actually put importance on familial relationship and longs for a warm home. But she's also brutal towards her enemies. So many are attracted to her because of the values and characters she shows.. including the... more>> 'neglected' ML^^

Also, I feel that the blend of modern and ancient plot in this story is actually intriguing and fantastical~^^

However.. for me, the drawbacks are the mention and stereotypes of ethnicity and nationality. Actually, not just this novel. I've also encountered similar 'tone' in other stories by many other authors. This one is actually quite mild compared to others I've read.. and the author is clear in the insinuation between the line of good and bad..

Anyway, I love reading various stuff to gain more knowledge and broaden my mind (and heart)... so if I only read things that I feel good, how would I know what taste bad for me^^ for this story, it's very spicy, with sweetness and sour, but a bit bitter~ <<less

I'm back! It's May 26, 2021 now, I already finished reading it in MTL. Highly recommended. It's really good. It took me 6 days to finish it and have no regrets. Except for the fact that I want more lol.

It's my first time reading someone from ancient time transmigrating to modern (as far as my memory told me). I can confidently say that I atleast already read more than 500 books (Wattpad, novel, light novel, manga, comics combined)

I don't even know what to say. It's not boring, it's entertaining... more>> to be exact. The husband was not away for too long, it's just a for a few chapters. Anyway you'll fell in love with our MC's character for sure. I specifically like it when those Yan cubs like getting this 'sister-in-law's' attention. Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'll rate it 5 star now from the previous 4 star.

Date May 20, 2021: My first review (chapter 8.3)

It's good. Inline with my current taste of novel styles.

I'm only at ch 8.3, the current available English translation. But I'll go and read the MTL since I'm so hooked that I can't wait for daily updates.

Try reading it. Can be recommended. I rate it 4 stars since I don't know yet what will happen after 8.3 this I can't give full 5 stars.

I'll probably make another review after reading this.

I've read it two times, not because it's good, but I had to remind myself of the plot before writing a review.

This story has a very Su-su-su FMC Gu Xueyi. And in general the story has the vibe of being on not so serious, like cool and impressive just to have fun. But to me it's a bit of missed opportunity there. There are several parts that were like that.

    • FMC. Tbh, the FMC may be super Sue and everyone started liking her overall aura and her deeds, but it also left big undeniable fact - FMC doesn't change throughout the story at all. Thus making her character quite flat, although she is remarkable for others, but tbh all the fancy compliments and all the men who kinda made up their own story in their own head and all marvelled at how beautiful and smart she is didn't change that she felt like a straight line. She's that type of smart and capable woman, who happened to be part of this story, but decided to enrich herself through knowledge of this world and survive. And since she happened to be part of the Yan family she decided that she will fix every child of this family and teach them. Outside of the Yan family there is a plethora of characters, but Yan, they're our main cast.
    • Wen children. I saw no need to let it slide and be kept out of readers' view that all the Wen children (this is how I call them) are illegitimate children. I honestly was reading it and saw nothing new in the family members not caring about each other, but who knew there was such a reason? And then I remmbered that - oh yeah, they come from mistresses and live at Yan's, but honestly why not give more extensive background of all children and relationships? Only later we realize that Wenbai's mother is dead, Wenshu's mother.. I think she was missed out completely, Wenjia's mother is a star in the past and now she is newly married with new daughter but still tries to connect with her son, Wenhong's mother is the ambitious type, although a scaredy cat too, they are afraid of the legitimate heir Yan Chao, but also want Wenhong to be a genius that could beat him and get all the Yan family. I honestly saw no need to keep that info for so long.
    • The fact that they're illegitimate doesn't bother FMC because she comes from ancient times and she saw it all as a norm, for her this type of family is still a family that can be put together if they're taught well, but actually for modern people it's quite a disaster, so I have no idea why no one gossiped about it.
    • I see the fact that all Wen children changed their ways so quickly a missed opportunity. Maybe there is some truth to it that people can be enlightened by a simple truth, but the process felt too simple. Wenjia to me had a weird first scene of encountering new Mrs Yan, basically he loved the extreme sports and she helped him up the level and only unrealistic jumping together at night, which would never happen, helped him get his sh*t together. Wenshu is an impulsive young lady who became a spear for the actress Jiang in the beginning and only due to her accident she completely woke up. Wenbai was simply beaten up in the beginning, I think he's the least problematic too. Wenhong was sent to a specialized school which was horrible, so with his upbringing etc he had few screws a bit loose and through teaching him Gu Xueyi at least put him on the right path. I don't see anything bad in these developments and say it's a missed opportunity to give more debth to the characters, to make them more profound, before we see the picture as if all four of them are liek chicks that chase GXY's skirt.
    • The Romance. Should I even say anything about it? Yan Chao's reaction is the same as many MLs before him. The original Gu Xueyi is of course some unlikable character, shallow and vain. But new Gu Xueyi is way cooler, so of course all the men around her notice her and Yan Chao is among them. At least he noticed at once that she is not the same person. So everything starts from the interest. Honestly, it's kinda silly because he started noticing her after she spent only dozens yuan to buy snack food. Later he saw her for himself and realized the changes, like a lurking predator he stayd silent and observed. The development is actually subtle in comparison to the rest, after all they felt like they're same type of person, compatible etc.
    • The plot is shallow but entertainng enough, for those who seek easy story entertainment.
NOW onto the part that I don't like.

    • What this xenophobia is all about? Just because of Covid? Let me put two and two together for you. The novel is written in 2020, meaning it's the peak of Covid. Back then there were indeed some extreme news/comments about China and the Covid. But I deem modern news unreliable and who knows if it was true or not or just a tactic from somewhere to put stigma on. I'm not from US and have no idea how things go there, but see it a bit ridiculous that such multi-national nation would be racist left and right. And by that I mean that if there are still racist people living there, like any other place honestly, it's not without those who think otherwise. So the part where Wenhong travels to US with Gu Xueyi for a competition sticks out as a sore thumb to me.
So this what shaved most of the stars to me. Like if it wasn't for this part the story might have been better. For this type of miss it's good that I haven't plastered 1 star all over it.

Read MTL. It was pain, but in a way worth it because I've found this story on Webnovel. There were changed names and I have this feeling that there were scenes missing in webnovel translation but it could be just translator messing with chronological order of plot. Not sure, I need to unlock chapters to find out. 😂 I liked it a lot. MC was perfect but surprisingly not in annoying way, I loved to read about her.

ML was missing a long time in this story and the most precious thing... more>> is how their relationship progressed after that. Quite realistic and I loved it.

Both were pretty clever and it was joy to read about them.

One thing that nearly caused that I stopped reading - nationalism is strong in this one. 😂🙈 But if one omit few weird scenes, it's quite fun read and even the plot is interesting.

Loved the explanation in the end about why there was transmigration. It is maybe a little bit rushed, but it is there.

I enjoyed it a lot. :) <<less

I just finished reading the novel and it was a satisfying end. Although, reading it was a headache as the translations seemed to be MTL and so it didn’t flow too well. Especially, when pronouns were involved.

MC is very fair to people. She is a Mary Sue. So for those who don’t like those type this isn’t for you. Being Mary Sue she has the usual trait where all powerful men fall for her because she is smart and beautiful. She is a little dense and naive in the love... more>> department as she doesn’t realize how people are chasing her? Some of her traits don’t add up sometimes but I read through MTL so I could be missing some stuff. The MTLs also skipped a few chapters and so sometimes it doesn’t add up.

What got me hooked is her interactions with the little siblings in law (Yan Wenhong, Yan Wenjia, Yan Wenbo, Yan Wenshu). The Yan siblings are so cute! They’re like little puppies and they grow throughout the novel. I like that many of the characters mentioned in the beginning didn’t all disappear forgotten by the author, which seems to happen a lot in C novels. The best trait of the MC is having always kept her word. A lot of her promises are maintained and not done on a whim. She is indeed someone you would strive to be just as described with a few loose strings.

YanChao and Gu Xueyi!

Spoiler

Yan Chao knows she is not the original GX. She doesn’t try to scam him into believing she is previous GX which avoids the I’ve been lying to you path so I don’t deserve this or something

[collapse]
Gu Xueyi is clearheaded so it is understandable how she is Mary Sue.

I gave this four stars as I read in MTL and the most annoying about this novel is the amount of comments in social media about MC or family is always added. This novel as mentioned by previous reviewer is very Chinese standardized. MC is a very love my country to the extreme type of person. She looks down on other countries somewhat... and talks about how in ancient times she could have her family take down a whole nation. (Massacre? War; her family is a family of Generals). This traits are quite constant in the novel and is probably the thoughts of the author, but also maybe a way for it to bring honor and pride to one’s country type of thing. The part about mental problems being faced and ignored was good though and the author seems to have grasped a true essence of this problem which is great! The pros overcame the cons for me so I suggest you give it a try. Be prepared for a headache in understanding.

Hence; I hope it gets a better translation so I can reread with better understanding! <<less

I thought it was enjoyable. Nothing too surprising happened. I like how the time travel/transmigration was explained.

First half of the story is MC being her awesome self. Second half is the romance. The extras tied up some loose ends.

This is a story for those who want to read about an OP MC who is doted upon.

I still want moreeee😭😭😭. I just love it so much! All of them are just too much for my liking. Let me tell you the elements of the story:

- An FL who transmigrated into a book as the cannon fodder ✔️

- The ML fell in love with the FL even though he disliked the host first ✔️

... more>> - System administrator ✔️

- Group favorite FL ✔️

You think it's cliche? Naaah. Although those troupes are common, what piqued my interest is that, the author managed to put his/her own twist to it. I can't spoil you too much but I'm telling you, it's really good. I like the plot twists so much that I am left craving for more.

The FL is really very good. I like her a lot. I think, she deserves to be loved by everyone. I like her character design— she looks cold but is actually considerate, especially to her own people, she's smart, proactive, straightforward, goal-driven, etc.

The Yan family, including the ML, are also very good. I don't know who's my favorite among them because I can't choose. The little ones are very cute too and have a distinct personality.

The unfortunate fishes on the FL's unintentional fish pond (lol) are also very cute. I don't know why Feng Yu and Cheng Yujin are my favorites (although it's clear that CY backed off early before it was realized). JJM doesn't have much presence while my impression to JY is kinda the ruffian type so I can't take him so seriously since he's kinda hilarious. Nevertheless, what I like about them the most is that they were able to know that
Spoiler

the one who asked for their help is not the woman they like. I really like that chapter because it just shows that they are not s*upid and they know the woman they admire.

My only regret is that it ended too soon. I still want to know what happened to all the supporting characters. After all, the story's timeline spans around 13 years (from when the story started until the ending). I kinda want to know if the Yan family brats have their own family now or if the FL's admirers already have their own family as well. Just those trivial things. Also, how's the OG FL doing?

Overall, I enjoyed reading this story a lot. It was very relaxing because it's sometimes funny, motivational, and thrilling. There are also no annoying commentators that are usually found in most of the novels out there for the purpose of the FL's faceslapping scene. There is no big villain who looks like an unkillable c*ckroach. In short, I am very satisfied with this story and I totally recommend it. 10/10! <<less

I love this book. I just want to sink into it's crevices. I don't want it to end.

The MC is op but in a very resilient comfortable way because she's so responsible. The MC/ML are ruthless and I love it bc I guess I'm bloodthirsty.

But if you think this writing is really lame, just please wait until you meet Yan Wenhong; like his arc changed how I felt about the MC and the whole story. I thought everyone was playing her up too much too until then. And then I... more>> fell in love. I don't care.

Ps the extras could've been better tho..

I absolutely loved this book. The FL is really cool and the ML is perfect husband material. I love each and every Yan family member. Another thing I liked was all the villains in the novel were taken care of quickly. There was no rivalry in the novel that made you want to die of frustration from going too long. The FL is a true heroine. She honestly cares about her country and helps people willingly. This type of FL is a breath of fresh air. Their love story wasn't... more>> filled with angst either which I loved.

The only problem with this novel is that it skipped waayyy too many chapters and that was really annoying. Other than that, it was a great read!!! <<less
