After the death of both her parents, Sara becomes an orphan and is taken in by her noble grandfather. She endures daily bullying from her uncle’s family and cousins.

One day, Sara remembers her past life as a workaholic woman in her thirties. Determined to leave her oppressive home and gain independence, she sets out on her own.

“I want to be independent, but I also want to live in luxury!”

Sara’s goal is to earn enough money to achieve independence. But can she truly succeed in making a fortune and living independently? (And perhaps, along the way, find love and marriage too… hopefully).

This is my second time reading this story. It's an amazing piece of work. At first I got mad about the limitations placed on women in society but I saw how the author was portraying the advancement and value of women in society and got excited to see what other areas will be developed. I love this story and am so very grateful it was translated. Thank you so much to Novel Updates for providing access to this story. Thank you so much to the translator - I would never... more>> have known this story's power without you. An THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO THE AUTHOR. I love how wonderfully you wrote! God bless this team - it's awesome to experience your work. <<less

Overall, it currently falls into the expectations set by the title without standing out in any particular way.

The protagonist remembers her past life as a workoholic polymath after a near-death experience, and sets out to her family's territory to create a foundation for independence. Then, as a result, she'll end up saving the territory's finances and establish various reforms in the process.

Not all of that has happened yet, but it's pretty clear that that's where the frame of the story is going. There are a couple of other novels like... more>> this, so the interesting portion will be the "actual" plot, the characters, and their interactions.

The pace is fairly slow, so after these 24 chapters, the characters who will become the protagonist's peers have not yet appeared, although a few potential ones have been mentioned.

One thing that is strange to me however is that while the society is extremely patriarchal - as many have been historically - for some reason the protagonist's introduction to office work is smooth with barely any obstacles, not just considering her gender but also that she is still 8 years old.

For some reason, the characters that she ends up interacting with don't actually value the patriarchy, to the point that it seems strange that the society has remained in that state, even considering the more "traditional" aristocracy that hasn't played a big role yet.

Western societies were worse off just a century ago, so it seems strange for people to be this progressive in a society that seems medieval.

Edit:

So after reading another 400 chapters, I thought I needed to update this review. I still think it's accurate for the first chapters, so some readers may find it challenging to get through those.
Spoiler

I thought it was going to be a novel about administrative reforms and establishing a trading company as a regular business, but actually she gets all kinds of cheats. Magic, music, technology, communications, strong AI, an unbeatable and undetectable intelligence network, and "coincidentally" also just about the most talented subordinates / colleagues of her generation.

If you ask me, that's a bit much.
[collapse]

However, it is written reasonably well, and later on there's excellent comedy. It just takes some hundred chapters before the really funny ones. One further comment on pace which I hope isn't too much of a spoiler, but since my last review, the novel has covered less than a year in almost 400 chapters. If you want the protagonist to grow up soon, she won't. It looks like the novel is far from completed though, so maybe she'll grow up eventually. <<less

A very good read and decent Translator.

While an isekai story, it isn't a generic one with one dimension characters. The villains wasn't a mindless douchbag and self-destruct, and MC wasn't a saint or dense protag. There are deep, emotional and setting that affect the thinking of every characters and made them do things that they're conscious about it. No perfect human in this novel, and that make this a good read for perspective of the economic, politics, and old (noble) tradition.

MC was a bit of a Mary Sue, but author... more>> made it very interesting to follow. While it's a bit of shoujo, with a bit of reverse harem, it wasn't a purpose of this novel, no. MC aware of the emotion that come to her and deal with it with intelligence and a bit of fun. It's a fiction novel after all.

As for the change of heart that come a bit too soon, it can't be help since it's a isekai novel. Wait 500+ chapter to change one character perspective is too long, but the flow of story are very fun to read although a bit fast since author need to cover a lots of ground. From the start of the novel until 400 chapter-ish, was only happen in one year.

The con will be a bit of gender perspective. The boys are too s*upid and the girls are very smart, as to promote some gender equality, or even female supremacy, but if you don't go and woke up with it, it's just a funny, light heart banter. The Fairy helper and AI aspect was a bit too much though. Too much, too convenience, too OP. But it's a novel. Have fun with it.

Lastly, the translator do a very decent translation. 85% are readable, while 10% include switch up some gender and characters around. 5% come out a bit weird, but if you're very familiar with Japanese Novel, then it will come in as naturally for you. I personally don't really have problem with it, hence 5 stars. <<less

Still in the earlier chapters but can't help but comment, thus will give a score average of 3 as a perfunctory rating.

Now then, finding it hard to read since despite the grandeur background and settings, to be blunt, I find it unbelievable for such a high strung noble family to last so long given how they act and with the issues soon revealed. And of course it's the MC that's going to fix it for them.

Spoiler

Such a prominent family but thus far it is revealed that the eldest son and his family is a spoiled two faced wastrels pretty much, the second son which had a more amicable and good nature is pretty much more muscle than brain, the third son was a playboy and runaway which was the MCs father here. The old head? Pretty much non-existent thus far, has authority but don't really seem much of it properly being exercised.

And with the issues with their territory where a branch family and steward was it that was previously stationed there having colluded and embezzled funds for years and clear issues of mismanagement.

So, how is this prominent noble family supposed to be noble exactly? They've only come across as arrogant and incompetent thus far.

[collapse]

Don't want to see MC fix their issues for them, especially whilst being under them still.

Spoiler

Only staying cause curious of what happened after the MC left with her "pranks" from the main branch residence. Hoping for it to show later on, otherwise, probably would've dropped the title already.

[collapse]

Most likely will just skim through the chapters until I find somewhere more interesting or drop it if it take too long to get there or so.

Again, arrogant and incompetent yet MC has to fix their issues for them. Dropped then. Rating is also reduced to 2 stars.
Spoiler

MC being a prospective OP char if not already OP that can use all attributes was it or five at least, alongside the other overused tropes and with its execution. Yeah, nope.

Those who want territory development Isekai. Try this. Its similar to "I shall Master this family". I'm sure the author took some "inspirations" from it. But it's not a rip off

The FL is an eight years old orphan taken in by her marquis grandfather. Since hey mother was a commoner, she is bullied by her cousins. (Ring any bells? Lmao). Anyway, sne asks the grandpa to live in the territory to live with her other uncle instead of the capital and he agrees.

She discovered that the territory is in shambles... more>> because of corruption. All the ones responsible fled or were imprisoned leaving the territory with lack of manpower. That's where the FL's previous life experience as a trading company employee comes into play and puts in policy that improves the efficiency of the workflow and management of the territory. <<less
