This is a somber, psychologically charged, and quietly haunting tale of two men drawn together by despair and bound by something far more complicated than love—a man who wants to kill, and another who wants to die.

This deeply emotional salaryman drama delves into the quiet violence of trauma, the strange solace found in ruin, and the tangled ways people survive power imbalances, emotional manipulation, resentment, and longing.

Recommended for readers who appreciate age-gap dynamics, emotionally damaged characters, and stories that linger like a bruise.

I went into this book expecting something complex — maybe even difficult — but I wasn't prepared for how deeply it would affect me. It’s not a typical love story. It’s raw, messy, and emotionally fraught in the way only Konohara-sensei can deliver. And yet... I couldn’t stop reading.

The dynamic between the two leads is unlike anything I’ve encountered before — unsettling at times, sure, but also layered with vulnerability and surprising tenderness. The “older uke” trope is handled with such psychological nuance that I found myself unexpectedly drawn to... more>> him — to his contradictions, his silence, his volatility, and even to his heartbreaking fragility. There’s a kind of beauty in his brokenness that lingers long after the last page.

It’s the kind of book that challenges your ideas of love, power, and healing — and maybe, just maybe, leaves you a little different than you were before. <<less
