So to start by the story being stiff some things are written in a way that feels unnatural. A early on example I can think of is the beastman butler saying "even though we hate humans" which feels off in context. Something along the lines of "Even though she is a human" because with something like discrimination the person doing it won't generally blatantly acknowledge it. So at least for me I would find the dialogue to be a lot more natural if it implies the discrimination exists by having them react in a way like what I used above as an example, where they are implying that humans are bad while acknowledging her efforts. This isn't a major issue with the story by any means but there were quite a few instances where the author rather than implying something they explicitly state it, which just makes the dialogue feel a bit unnatural. It feels more like a character stating "I hate humans" than them reacting to the princess with the ideology of hating humans, which overall makes the characters feel slightly unrealistic. (But again, I don't think this is something that ruins the story by any means and I still think its worth reading.

So I'll start off this part by saying that this might be pre-emptive since the mini-arc hasn't finished yet, so it might somehow change in the next few chapters but since I find that very unlikely I'm adding this. The following is my personal opinion, but I will state why I believe this. The entire part about the wolf prince abducting her and planning on raping her is a major negative to the story that shouldn't of been included. So far in the story it has been a mostly fluff type story, where even if something happens its generally done in a way that is not too serious, at least for me the story feels like a feel-good where nothing bad will happen which is why you can just enjoy their relationship developing. Due to this when this scene is suddenly inserted the contrast makes it feel especially jarring. As a baseline I hate it generally when authors use something like r*pe as a plotline, there are times where it feels like its done in an okay manor, but its generally being used as a way to portray someone as a villain (for example sword art online) but all it does I think is destroy the quality of the story. This might just be me, but I read for enjoyment, and r*pe scenes have never once made me enjoy a story. They generally serve close to zero purpose, and at most cause the main characters to grow closer, but in exchange for that the author is inserting a serious topic and generally doing it in a poor manor. (And I'm probably particularly more sensitive to it today due to watching a show earlier that had a scene that felt realistic, so this might be a more extreme reaction than what is warranted for this book) but overall I think it just majorly takes away from a story.

To get back in focus with this story, at the point I'm at we haven't seen the full conclusion but with how its developing I think the most the author will get out of this scene is a way to make the main characters get closer together. I'm guessing that this might be the cause of the main couple officially having their first night since that was the reason the idiot dog tried to r*pe her, but this just feels like a s*upid decision for the author to do. When a couple in a romance show have interc**rse the reason I care as a reader is because it feels like they have passed a milestone, where they trust and love each other to get to this point, but if this milestone is reached due to a reason like the female lead nearly being r*ped it doesn't feel satisfying at all, it just destroys the potential to have a scene where they do it naturally. The other thing I think could happen is that this just causes them to become closer together, but then its again a negative aspect to the story. No matter how much their relationship develops it will not be worth destroying the fluffy feel-good nature of the story. I'm going on a bit of a ramble but my point overall is that it feels like an unnecessary element that gives the story little to nothing while being something that I believe actively drags the quality down. Again, I don't know the conclusion, but no matter the conclusion it won't ever make me feel good about the mini-arc. There are parts of a story that you can look back on and think this part was amazing, for romance stories I rarely, if ever, get a single scene stuck in my head that just feels very impactful, since by nature romance stories are usually more slice of life and don't normally have major climaxes'. This is why I generally classify romance stories as amazing when I can't identify a single part, and instead I can just think of a vague outline of how their relationship developed. By adding a scene like this to the story it ruins this kind of reminiscing since rather than thinking about how good most of the story is my mind focuses on how the author randomly added a r*pe scene.

Anyway, this got a lot longer than I originally intended and honestly comes off as a lot more negative. My point specifically is that adding something like this was unnecessary and due to the serious nature of it I believe it worsens the quality of the story. Without the somewhat unnatural dialogue then I think this story would of been a great story, but with things like this r*pe scene added it makes it at best a good story, since this is not the type of story where adding r*pe benefits the story.

(I've read over 1000 light novels and I can only think of one story that did it well, and that story did it right since it fit the tone of a lawless world while also making it a major scene highlighting how disgusting it is. I'm simplifying it a lot but that story had to do a lot of things to make that scene okay and even then its never going to be a part of the story I enjoy, it just is a scene that forces the readers to come to terms with the reality the characters live in, and destroys the ideas that nothing bad can happen to the main characters.)

Anyway, went on another tangent. The point I want to make at the end here is that the r*pe scene in this story is honestly pretty minor and inconsequential. The reason why this section came off as especially negative is because of building resentment towards authors using this as a plot point in there stories mixed with watching an anime that actually made it feel realistic. (Same one as the one I mentioned as the only one doing it well. I'm avoiding saying the name since it could be a spoiler) but due to this I've become particularly sensitive about it so when I started this story to read a fluff slice of life and it had this it set me off. Overall it barely effects the story, the scene was less than 3 chapters, so if this massive mostly misdirected rant about authors using r*pe makes you doubt this story than I would recommend reading it. Nothing actually happens in this story.

Lilith visits the bird beast people and ends up realizing how soft their feathers are after they cuddle her to warm her up. The king offers to send her home with a duvet of their feathers since they fall out regularly anyway (which her husband/BILs keep calling belly hair to her dismay). When she tells her BILs how soft it is and asks why they never got feathers from them, they are understandably like girl we don’t typically ask each other for discarded hair especially to cuddle with. It was unique insight because to her it’s fluff like any animal but to them it’s like if someone asked for their fur. She does end up converting all her family into the bird beastman feather blanket life though.

another one that had me on the floor was when she insisted on helping carry sick patients. Cat beast men turn into their beast form when ill and the commoners are small enough for her to carry. Her doctor friend had to point blank say please stop rubbing your cheek on that cat, he is a grown adult man who works in the mines. To be fair, she is never rude but it’s very relatable and becomes another discussion on how beastman can smell gender so she has no way of knowing if she’s assisting a man or woman.
