He pushed forward relentlessly, without looking back or to the sides, all in the name of success.

For 20 years.

Starting from the bottom, he climbed to the position of the head of the global broadcasting platform, Mflix.

The highest position a PD could achieve: Top Chief Producer.

He became a giant in the drama industry.

But it didn’t take long for the name “Top CP Kim Do-yoon” to disappear.

And so, he died in solitude…

After returning to the past, 20 years earlier, Do-yoon makes a resolution!

To look after his people, take care of his family, and enjoy his own time.

So, does that mean he won’t pursue success?

Wouldn’t it be harder not to succeed?

An excellent rendition of the regression trope, featuring a protagonist with flaws who doesn't intermediately shed those flaws upon returning to the past.

To a significant extent, this is a story of redemption, but while he's certainly talented professionally, his personal growth comes with effort.

I'm usually critical of the supernatural features that protagonists gain when they regress, because their innate talent is often sufficient to provide an interesting story. And while the character and ability would certainly suffice for an interesting story, the ability he gains actually plays a meaningful role:... more>> Managing the butterfly effect of his regression.

The MC has some plans for what he wants to do with his second attempt at life, but there are always events outside of his control and cognition, and getting snippets of future news helps in identifying and fixing problems that are indirect results of his own changed behaviour.

There are fewer aspects to criticise than praise.

The pacing is good, the dialogue is interesting, the characters have depth and variety, with both likeable and unlikeable ones, and the story is gripping.

There are some cliffhangers at the ends of chapters, but they're not egregious, and most importantly don't spoil the end result.

Even though not many chapters have been translated yet, this novel has safely secured a spot among my favourites. <<less
