I can forgive alot of the flaws of this novel because it's amazingly written, kind of annoying secondary character POVs that either cover topic not interesting or niche that they're never brought up again, or the POV covers the exact arc we just went through but from another person's POV.

That's my biggest issue with this novel but obviously I'm about to tell you why it's still really good. People have talked about how the protagonist has mellowed our after enough regressions, but that's not what makes this story truly special,... more>> it's the relationship with the protagonist and the team that betrayed him. Mild spoiler, comes up relatively early but,
Spoiler

it's revealed that the protagonists trauma is so heavy with this incident because his teammates were genuinely good people, he calls the team leader his savior, but given no choice they decided to sacrifice him. He also struggles with the fact that during the sacrifice they don't give any excuses for their actions, and he dwells on about when they decided it should be him. It just hits hard because the protagonist admits that the version of those people that betrayed him are gone, and the desperate situation they did it in might not even exist anymore, he's left with 0 closure on anything that happened because of it.

[collapse]
it's a genius use of the regression genre, flip the entire common idea that a regressor can know everything on its head by showing that nothing will stay the same, the protagonist will never get full closure about the betrayal and its about him trying to move on and live with that fact. Amazing concept and wonderfully executed. <<less

This is a decent novel, but the pacing and genre are a bit odd. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the subtle mystery the author has going around the MC's powers.

The only problem I have is that the progression of the novel feels like a collection of short stories rather than a light novel. Chapters focused on the protagonist are mostly comedic and unserious as he is basically immortal and holding back his power. However, the genre completely shifts during the rather long side-chapters showing the other characters... more>> that are related to the protagonist.

Spoiler

Felt like it went from a hunter fantasy/comedy, to a serious drama/slice of life, back to comedy and then straight into an action drama etc...

[collapse]
The tonal shift could be more reasonable, but the side chapters aren't a brief and last 5+ chapters.

That aside, it's a decently solid translation; the tone shifts just feel jarring and immersion breaking. <<less

This novel looks incredibly promising.

A lot of hunter/dungeon KR novels focus on power leveling, ambition and maybe money/item hoarding. There's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes you just want to have something else.

Look no further. This novel quickly goes over MC's rise to power, struggles, and revenge like a summary, while leaving it open for some juicy exposition in the future. The main content seems to be about helping out the desperate hunters who aren't doing so well in their life. This feels really relatable in a sense, like someone... more>> lending a hand to a friend who's currently job hunting or having trouble with their family.

Timid personality issue? No problem, you just need to be worked like a XXX by XXX. (read the novel to learn about it)

Strange performance drop in Team A, and not Team B? Let Ahjusshi MC tell you why. It's because everyone needed to talk about their true feelings and confess what they really think of each other. (time to read the novel)

Inquiry on not manifesting one's ability skill even though the Mana gathering is fine? Hold on, this is a case of poisoning from *BEEP*! What! These people are not taking responsibility for the poisoning?! Ahjussi's justice protest shall pierce the heavens (not)...!

Wait, what do you mean all the people *BEEP*. Huh? This is now a criminal case?? Ahjussi is the criminal!? (Release more chapters darn it!)

It's unfortunately only 81 chapters released so far, but the KR comments state that the story got even better past chapter 100 (too many supporting characters' stories in the early chapters, but read this novel anyways).

4.8 stars. <<less

A regressor character with an extreme personality that mellowed out as he regressed. A refreshing take on a regressor story as he doesn't regress to save the world. The thing I like the most is the way he solves the problem of his client. He never tries to bulldoze his way through problem with money, power, connections or deus ex machina like other novels. Besides that, from the few battles I have seen in the story, there is no sudden awakening of power in battle, nobody becomes stronger as the... more>> plot needs them to be. I like this a lot. <<less

Pretty interesting premise and I am really invested in the story. The plot and characters are well fleshed out and the translation is pretty great.

It's a bit of an early review but the first couple of arcs has been great so far. The pacing is perfect.

Basically regressed hunter spends his first few lives trying to take revenge but then gets killed by stronger and stronger foes until he finally decides to open an institute to help downtrodden hunters get a job. Pretty chill storytelling but it doesnt really feel boring... more>> at all.

Definitely recommended if you want a chill novel with a cool protagonist and a sprinkle of action here and there. 9.2/10 <<less
