The S-Classes That I Raised

Description

An utterly useless, pathetic F-Rank older brother who only drags down his successful S-Rank younger brother.

After living a messed-up life, eventually dragging even my brother’s life down with me, I was given the title after my regression:

‘Perfect Nurturer.’

Fine, this time, I’ll just stay quiet and support those brilliant guys from the shadows.

Or so I thought, but the S-Ranks are acting a little strange.

Love it! I love how the author writes about the relationship of the MC with the people around him, especially the siblings Yoojin, Yoohyun, and their new sister Yerim. It's so funny and heartwarming watching them bicker.

I love this novel! I like the world building aspect as well as all of the characters (MC's brother is my favorite one). The MC himself is very contradictory -- he'll say one thing but never go through with it -- and the way he finds difficulty using his abilities annoys me. But, (at least with the first translator) it's an easy, fast read. Not to mention, there are so many aspects to enjoy! It's funny at some parts, has decent actions scenes, and cool characters.

Spoiler

One thing I have to add is that Yerim's character is very lacking. She has no purpose except to be protective of the MC. After her initial debut in the novel, it's like we never see her at all and when we do she's never given too much personality. I felt the same way about Yoohyun a bit -- especially as after the initial "I love you" MC totally forgot about him! He's only still included every once in a while when he demands MC's attention! I feel like most of the characters MC influences with his skill are like this. It would be better if they were given more substantial roles -- like Sung Hyunjae.

I absolutely *LOVE* it and could not put it down, I'm craving more so badly!! 😭😭 It definitely reminds me of TCF as others have said- I don't consider Yoojin to be a genius of Cale's level, but he definitely has that "cunning, physically weak MC with excellent skills who tries to make the world better while thinking he's doing it solely for selfish reasons, and doesn't get why people honestly like him just for him" vibe 😂 And the way they both have a pack of OP characters trailing along... more>> behind them like ducklings lol.

For me personally it would be a 5 star, but I acknowledge there are things about it that some may not like:

- I saw some people who got tired of the repeated "Weak MC is threatened, brother/others go nuts worrying about him, he calms them down" pattern. Personally I love it and never got tired of him driving everybody crazy with his glass cannon type body, but to each their own. 🤷🏻‍♀️ - The series takes a rather casual stance on imprisonment, assault, and at times even torture. The flippancy of it annoyed me at times, but only rarely.

- If you're a bigot who can't stand the idea of two men being in love, take a hike, because the number of innuendos in this story will leave your mind permanently in the gutter. I firmly believe this author wanted to write a BL and somebody told them no, so they just squeeze in as much as they can 😂

The only thing I hate about it is the knowledge it's gonna take FOREVER to be fully translated and isn't available to buy in English 😭 Other than that, happy reading! <<less

I'm rating this as a five because I really like the premise and how it was written. This is a child rearing story (somehow?). Hopefully, there's no romance because at this point it would be hard to do so considering how they establish 'friendship' and 'family' as the main theme after a hundred chapters.

Please remember this is a fantasy novel lmao so please try to not to have realistic expectations. Like what the hell there are already dragons in the story. Plot armors should be welcomed too as long as... more>> they are bearable and helping the story as a whole.

But I really like this story so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Good things to take note of:

  • It's a light-read.
  • It's like a cross between Omniscient Reader's Pont of View (ORV) and tr*sh of the Count's Family (TOTCF). MC is self sacrificing, OP (in a diff way), and a little bit cunning (but not as much as Cale). The relationship dynamic between characters are also like that.
  • The plot flows well and there were no boring points.
  • Plot devices were also used beautifully and didn't seem to abrupt.
  • I like how there is a gap moe with our MC.
  • The misunderstanding are hella funny.
  • The monologues are usually only the MC so its linear.
Things that might feel off while reading the story:

  • The obvious racism like other korean webnovels have. Specially against China and Japan.
  • The possessiveness of the brother but considering how the relationship dynamic was laid out I see it as something understandable. Also not everything is BL so please refrain from saying they look like they are.
  • In connection to what was written above, it might be connected with how Korean Novels gloss over writing long expositions unlike western novels so the character's relationships seemed jumping from point A to point B.
  • I agree with @userone the characters develop way too quickly without discussing how or why they did it.
This is another thing. I can see how everybody got annoyed by how clingy the characters are but since its diff for me also consider that. Anyway overall, I can't complain to how it was written and how it was translated since I've read a lot of k and c novels so I can read everything without footnotes. Maybe that's way I'm way too lenient too. But give this a try!

Anyway personal opinion, I like how there are many similarities with all the webnovels I've read before but to say this novel was a holy trinity with ORV and TOTCF is a little bit too much. If you would like a better read in line with those two it'd be SSS-Class su*cide Hunter although without the gang 'cause its MC works alone <<less

This novel is really a gem, I don't know how could I miss this gem for a long time, if you like omniscient reader's viewpoint and tr*sh of the count family, you will love this story, at first the plot kinda slow but it need to read all of the chapters without skipping it cause it contains many information that build the world, in a sense the way MC collect his S class it is just like kim dok ja having his group friends or cale that collect more friends... more>> and beast that protect him. I love how the deep feeling between brothers that grow up by relying on each other and each of them do their best to protect each other, and how MC relationship with others characters are very interesting. Also the plot of this novel kinda amazing and big after reading up to 131 chapters, every characters feel alive and have their own unique charm. Well I just love this novel so much. <<less

It started off really good but the MC is hard to understand. He has fear resistance which makes him completely fearless and he immediately forgives any hurt done to him. But it also makes him s*upid. He has no sense of self preservation and it just makes the story frustrating to follow. At some point you start realizing he's making dumb decisions and his brother isn't overreacting.

There's a more of a focus on relationships than MC developing, but the relationships are very bleh. There's not a lot of depth... more>> and it feels very one dimensional considering how much focus is on it.

Also the game part of it gets complicated and I can't be bothered. I just wanted MC to raise people/ pets. <<less

I love this story because the MC is not your typical over powered bad ass. Although he is powerful in his own way in all reality his power is LOVE lol. He seems to be the only person who is capable of loving people and monsters that almost everybody else would not. And these powerful people can see this and grab onto him and do not let go no matter what (which is totally funny).

My favorite thing about this novel is not that it is focused on the action but... more>> more of the family/relationship dynamics. And although it can sometimes feel that it is a slow burn the author gives us just enough action to keep us going.

By the way my favorite relationship in the novel is between Yoojin and Hyunjae they act like an old married couple lol. <<less

I am 10 chaps in and it feels like a sh*t show, a farce and every other thing like that the big brother (MC) is a gutless moron who cant even speak up for himself and its not even speaking in front of other people but your younger brother.

Even if your younger brother is more powerful, he is still younger at least say something when he is treating you like a 5 year old, blocking your freedom you cant even choose stepping out of a room by yourself I know... more>> I am only 10 chapters in but first impression of the novel should be at least better than average than this farce <<less

Currently killing my braincells with MTL, but hey I think it's worth it. MC is kinda mentally unstable, even if it's not apparent at first. The reason why he seems okay is thanks to his fear resistance skill. The death of his brother and former teammates really had a large impact on him. Even his brother of all people recommended a therapist to him, but of course MC brushed it off and was like, "haha no I'm cool". Then inner monologue about him not being able to tell anybody about... more>> the regression, and him being aware that he has a problem but just because he's aware doesn't mean it can be instantly fixed. It's like telling a depressed person to just be happy.

Aside from that, there are a lot of interesting plot points for me

Spoiler

Crescent Moon. She's a bit loony, just like a lot of other characters

Sung Hyunjae's existence. There are 2 people the white bird predicted would be able to free him, MC and Taewon. Pre-regression, he and MC became sorta friends, but in the end he chose Taewon. Yeah that didn't work out.

Song Taewon's existence. Such a masochist, he's full of contradictions, but there's a reason for that! He's also another unstable guy, but he's doing what he thinks is right

Yoojin's f*cking title cancer. Seriously he's gonna die at this rate

The system admins. Not so innocent, not even the cute Newcomer

The White Bird that took hyh and disappeared

anyways, there's a lot of stuff going on <<less

Let me be honest, I like stories like this. The only problem is there are some parts that I don't understand. The arrangement sentence is nice, but, well, there are some messiness and the understanding sometimes just doesn't make sense, so I tend to read quickly on that part twice and then I move on, thinking it wasn't that much important.

And then there's game terminologies which I don't get it even though I've searched it online already like 'stats' and 'levels'. I know what levels are, but the author puts... more>> the 'stat' and 'levels' like they're the same meaning which confuses me even more. Thus, I ignored the understanding behind those explanations, but I still read it anyway.

Those are just the cons. There are more, but I don't want to be a picky 'eater'. Of course, there are pros too. The reason I didn't write it is because I will probably write a whole damn abridged story and then it'll be spoilers for you all.

I'll just say that, the MC is to my liking (only I wished he grew a bit of a backbone).

Edit: I read till the latest ch 204 hehehe. Loving this novel even more. I read other ppl comments on MCs 'i love you' skill which brain wash ppl to like him but if they read until the latest chapter (not ch204). He does feel remorse. MC even told Yerim n Myungwoo abt it. Go and read to know more. I'mma say they're all lovelies that's all. I hope the translator keeps on translating this. Fighting 💪 <<less

i love this novel, but somehow it felt like the author has too many things to write that all the plots jumbled up. Like for example yoonyoon, the character could be built more since he literally a dokkebi king but all he does is simping in japan with peace souvenir. There is no interaction abt yoonyoon or about the research with that doctor (forgot the name) which yoonyoon was assigned to help with. The conversation yuujin with hyunjae about the history of dungeon was cut short and was never... more>> continue. Like isn't that the reason why yuujin instructed yoonyoon to go dungeons to figure out the patterns and research with that doctor (name forgot) ? And most of the side characters like teawon, myeongwoo, sunghan etc are legit being left behind like they dont exist the moment the author has new ideas lol especially during the new world. What im trying to say is, the flow of the story is abit of a mess. It can be quiet boring in-between especially when yuujin tries to do everything all on his own, which he does alot that its getting frustrated. The unnecessary interference by yuujin when it doesn't even need to be sometimes made me quit reading or sometime I just skipped. i think its unfair for whoever translated this novel and has the audacity to CHARGE people who wants to read this. You stolen author's work and wish to get paid for "work" lol. <<less

Love this novel so far, it was to my taste and a lot of the reviewers give a summary so no need for me to do it, there are some criticism but none of that actually affected my enjoyment of the novel it was not everyone type of story. so it was a good overall. For me.

I can't put it down. I love clever protagonists and male yandere and pets. This is so far up my alley,...I can't think of something clever to follow that isn't also foul. Anyway, like other series of this type, it's a little formulaic, and the MC is loved and fawned over by *everybody*. If MC were female, I'm pretty sure I would have tossed this away, annoyed by Mary Sue-ness. It would definitely be some kind of reverse harem wonderland. In fact, it borrows so many tropes from yaoi I'm... more>> kinda surprised the author has managed to keep it clean.

Whatever, I'm starting to ramble. Give it a go. If the tags fit your preferences, it will satisfy. <<less

To be honest, I'm not sure why it has a lot of low ratings. The idea is good, the execution wasn't too bad, and I found myself speeding through 60 chapters in a single day.

The MC, Han Yoojin, is a failure. Well, used to be a failure. He got a lot of cheat like skills moments before his regression, which were basically his whole foundation.

Truth be told, Yoojin isn't strong. Like, not at all. If he didn't have his fear resistance, he'd be back to who he was from before... more>> the regression.

Spoiler

Yoojin does get a few skills that would help him in battle, but he mostly relies on his friends/comrades/associates to fight. He's more of a support, really.

[collapse]

The first few chapters or so can be a bit too slow paced, but the good sh*t is after about 50 chapters.

Also, this novel might give you bl vibes, despite not technically having any real romance. If you don't like that, it'd be best to stay away.

The side characters were all very well fleshed out, and were all very memorable. Personally, I think they're a bit too obsessed, especially Han Yoohyun, Yoojin's younger brother, but it's not much of a problem really.

What I find the most interesting was the dynamic between Yoojin and the side characters. (Particularly, sung hyunjae and han yoohyun) I find their interactions to be increasingly entertaining, especially when all 3 of them are together.

Overall, it was a fun, light read. If I don't have anything to read, I always come back to this novel, and I suggest that you do the same too. <<less

I gave up just after the first 30 chapters 'cuz it was that bad. MC has serious inferior complex & is very selfish. Moreover he has no talent and just use others' achievement (in his past life) as his own. That's what irritated me the most. I love reincarnation theme but I prefer the MCs have their own power and skill, or at least have some interesting characteristic, this one has nothing.

IMO this novel will be good if you treat the MC just like some cheesy novel's FLs, who got... more>> love from everyone unconditionally, doing nothing except from saying "I love you." and got treated like a saint. Now that's the actual genre of this novel. <<less

I’m gonna say it outright. The cutesie monster/whatever Chirpie is aspect is annoying. It feels like the author is excessively trying to make them cute and add some fluff to the novel, whereas I prefer the more serious scenes as they are cooler and what I came here for. I am, as you can see, a girl of simple tastes.

TLDR: it’s not the best novel out there. But I would recommend you give it a try. Once you make it past the first 10-20 chapters, you’ll be able to see if you really like it or not. It’s pretty interesting all round. <<less

I m diging this story. An exciting modern world with dungeons, with a rational and humane MC. At the golden oportunity of beign able to lay low and live confortly he tryes to take it, unfortunatly for him curosity takes the best of him, as it even intriges us readers, and he involves himself in the dungeon bussnies while experimenting with his undesceibed newly adquired skills.

As we advance in the story more characters are introduced each one with some wierd quirck. We can see them interact with not only MC... more>> but each other.

As for dungeon raids, we don t get spammed with them filling more than half of the story, instead the only parts we get to read are the seldom boss fight with a focus on describing the cooperation between the integrants.

One of the things that I like the most is the mistery behind the skills, we don t get names like: fireball, regeneration, or other generic abilities, instead their names are just a thease of what they do and imagination is the limit of what they can achive. This helps a lot for the story to not have a strict powerlevel and let things to happend unexpectetly.

All in all if you are a modern dungeon fan and like the story having a more exploration aproche. I strongly recomend you this one.

Translation can sometime be hard to read but is mostly quite nice. <<less

This novel is kinda new while mixing many things, we have a world changed like solo playing where dungeons appear in the world and " awakaned " people with superpower appear.

The MC here is a F rank (F~S from lowest to highest as usual) who ends up dying and regress, well it's kinda generic up to now. What I liked was that while he became very special with what he gained while regressing, it's not really the MC that makes the story.

He has amazing abilities but his basic stats... more>> (health, mana, strength, agility etc..) are still F rank so the story will necessarily bring other people to shine. Here the MC " role " is opposite to Reincarnator MC (who is almost doing everything by himself).

The translation had many notes in the beginning (it's good but when there is 12 notes and it takes 1.5 page) it kind of break the reading.. But it's still appreciated to have explanations.

I hope the translation will continue, 470c for now in korean.. Thanks translators and NU for the discovery and work <<less

Really love it! At first I was struggling to get my interest piqued but after a few chapters I find I really liked the story.

Its a personal favorite of mine for the protagonist to be well liked by people around him.

The second translations were good! I hope to read more chapters soon.
