The MC uses money to power up so he invents a mobile phone and apps to make money. The novel is formulaic garbage so once you read the release of 3-4 apps you'll have read the entire novel.

  1. MC introduces an app to the sect elders
  2. Everyone doubts the MC and he explains how it works. Everyone is amazed at how smart he is.
  3. The App is released, followed by 2-3 chapters explaining how the app works and how everyone is skeptic and then likes it.
  4. The elders tell the MC how much money they made and look at the MC like he's a god
  5. MC goes into closed cultivation to break through
  6. A problem appears while he's in retreat. Most of the time some enemy who is greedy for the MC's money breaks through.
  7. MC finishes powering up and everyone is amazed, asking him if he really broke through with jaws dropped and doubting life.
  8. MC tells the elders he's gonna solve everything. They go back and forth doubting the MC and saying how they should take a step back and do what the enemy says and the MC telling them it's easy to solve.
  9. They meet up to fight and everyone mocks and doubts the MC. The MC beats the enemy in 2-3 attacks and everyone is amazed.
Rinse and repeat. I'm not exaggerating one bit. It's the... more>> same thing over and over with varying degrees of filler at any point, probably until the end of the novel. It doesn't matter how many times he powers up everyone is shocked. It doesn't matter how many times he beats up people stronger than him everyone doubts and mocks the MC.

Sometimes the novel introduces a beautiful woman who falls in love without the MC doing anything because the MC is too handsome and then they reappear just to remind the reader that they still exist not because there's actual character development.

This is probably something to pick if you have nothing else to read and once the novel is completely translated because you'll want to skip entire chapters. <<less

Well, it is indeed as the other reviewer said, got repetitive. After all the formula is exactly the same as other reviewer said. I too just read how other react to the app after so many repetitive.

Best to read up to 300 chapter in my opinion, well if you don't mind the repetitive, you can go ahead read more. The reason why best to read up to 300 is, after chapter 300, the amount of filler chapter is drastically gotten an increase. Before the 300, the filler is like 4... more>> maybe, then after that it can be like 10, 15, 20 and more I suppose. Especially the fight scene, that where the filler is.

Before 300 ch, the fight scene maybe only up to 5 maximal, but after that it became so much that I can't find the need to read it, after all the MC won. The reason why I can't find the need to read is the author is kinda bad at making fighting scene (mostly filled with like other impression of how it is impossible for MC to win, and the like, in actuality the MC only need like 2 to 4 blow to won.

The reason I vote this 4 is because I quite enjoying my reading experience at chapter before 300 that is. Well if you wanted to know the name of the act that will make more filler is, the moment MC expand business toward other continent that is. <<less

Be careful, the author completely rushed the ending.

As long as you can let go of your understanding of basic economic principles, this is a good read. Multiple million top grade spirit stones completely removed from the economy every month? In a market where the top sects struggle to take out a million top grade spirit stones? Hmm.

Spoiler

We never get to see other worlds. The author kills the story after butchering the game arc.

Overall a very fun light read.

Romance (and harem, I mean it's a chinese cultivation story, why wouldn't you expect a harem unless it is specifically mentioned that there isn't one?) is there but not a big focus. It is a bit strange though. There are multiple scenes were the MC reacts someone for no apparent reason.

The main focus is on the money making stuff which... actually works.

... more>> That is due to two factors.

    1. The MC is actually a pretty good person. Despite his whole power relying on how much money he has, he is not scummy or greedy. Yes, he is trying to earn a lot of money but he is actually very fair about it. It's essentially all the capitalist and money making bs we came up with but without the scummy parts. In parts because cultivators would not fall for that, and in part because he sees no need to be scummy about it. He also treats his subordinates very well. Like when an elder gets crippled he straight up goes ''Yeah so, we are taking care of you from now on and if there is a medicine to fix you we will acquire it no matter the price''.
    1. All the reaction Pov side stories. For most stuff the MC develops and introduces, you get mini stories of how it impacts certain peoples lives. For example, he introduces a delivery system and then you get a side story of some dude who always tries to earn spirit stones for his sons but had problems getting them to him reliably.
The main problems those stories usually have is that the MC is either too scummy or that it gets boring because it's all buisness stuff without any real Characters doing stuff. And while most characters are very simple there are a lot and the constant side stories help keep the story fresh. <<less

Things I liked about this novel:

I started reading this because it kind of reminded me of Black Tech Internet Cafe. I like the concept of the story -- where the MC introduces earth-culture to wherever he is.

I also liked the various products he was introducing and reading the public reaction to it

I don't know the market is not crashing. Every time he upgrades (breaks through) he consumes all those top grade spirit stones, and yet there doesn't seem to be any visible impact on the market

The story got repetitive. App is released, people are skeptical about it, then they start liking it a lot, he gets revenue, he levels up, bad guys eye his business, fight happens, he talks to his female companion. It sounds like a lot, but over 500+ chapters, it certainly gets really repetitive

I didn't it was a harem before reading it, something I dislike a lot.

After c300+ onwards, I kind of skipped a lot of fight scenes, and a lot of interactions with his female companions. In fact I ended up skipping a lot of scenes where Ye Chen was involved, I was more interested in how others were being impacted / developing with the newest product. <<less

I actually like this novel. It’s a cultivation world and the MC brings a cellphone equivalent to pay for his lifestyle. Honestly I like the whole concept. It does feel feasible to do. It’s an enjoyable read
