Expected a good enough, fast-food like novel, which it was for the first half, even being surprisingly deep for what I expected in the second arc. But then it nosedove hard after a useless and almost insulting sex/h**ny arc (chapters 170-190), after which it abandoned most plotlines, progressed through some random mini-arcs, but soon skipped and rushed to the final 'epic' battle. Power of friendship happening and power levels in general down the toilet for the final battle.

Really disappointed. I would have rather experienced such awfulness since the start, I... more>> feel like I was baited with a good enough first half.

There are like 30 more chapters left, but I've lost all interest. I'm kinda just angry at the ruined pontential for a decent story for... I still don't know what. feels as if author went full 's*x sells' from chapter 150 onwards, peaked with that idiotic sex/h**ny arc at chapters 180s, then tried to fix it but then soon gave up and said 'screw it'. <<less

Most novels I’ve read start off with a great idea, but the author can’t execute. This novel, however, is the opposite. The writing, pacing, and characters are all pretty interesting and well written, but the overall plot is weird.

So basically it starts off with our MC possessing a “villain”. But in reality, the villain is just a super simp for the 4 original heroines (he literally goes into debt buying gifts and buffs for them). Eventually, one of the heroines stages his su*cide and pushes the villain off the roof.... more>> And now our MC has taken over the body and has to figure out who.

The first issue with the story is that our super simp villain is the most hated person in the academy. In an academy filled with arrogant nobles/young masters and cultists. Sure the “villain” went overboard into stalker territory, but it’s weird not a single person saw him as a kind person and just sat him down and told him to chill out. Not only that, but the 4 heroines took all his gifts too instead of rejecting him flat out.

Overall there are a lot of weird plot points like the pusher is a ‘non-virg*n’. Not sure why that matters, but ok. <<less

First time leaving a review. I've Read till latest raws.

A really good one to read.

Btw the cover is not a scam. That's a character that'll appear in later chapters.
Spoiler

Princess Asteria

[collapse]

If you guys are doubting because of the summary don't worry the Original heroines are connected to the plot but they're not the main heroines in the story and also he won't be forgiving them easily.

Story spoilers below

Spoiler

Basically he has to find the one who pushed the original owner of the body from the roof causing the original owner of the body to die. The only lead he got is it's supposed to be one of the 4 heroines and the girl is not a virg*n. So far only confirmed ones are Lena and Sharon.

[collapse]

Now for those who wants some spoilers about Female leads.

Spoiler

So far there's like 5 girls that's showing some affection for the MC and don't worry they won't be like meetup for the first time instantly fall in love. It'll take some time.

1. Danya - Catgirl who likes to mark her territory

2. Sylvia - Merchant girl who's kinda flirty and has a very good imagination.

3. Asteria - Princess with a dynamite body

4. Lena - Only 1 of the heroines so far who the MC forgave. She's a masochist.

5. Asilia - Sharon's mom (1 of the original 4 heroines). Master of MC she taught the MC swordsmanship skills when they met.

So far this is the only people who MC is showing some affection to

Btw don't worry he's not gonna be the typical japanese protag he aint scared of p**sy. He actually crossed the line with the catgirl

Well to start off, the guy who left the 1 star review because the girl on the cover "doesn't exist", is wrong because she does actually exist.

This novel took me a little bit to get into, but I actually really enjoy it. At first things seem kind of predictable and tropey, but the author actually surprises you. It's actually well written.

I've read a billion novels on here, but I hardly ever leave reviews.

Give this one a shot, it's pretty good.

This is another "the Novel's Extra" novel.

IF you liked titles including but not limited to:

  • I Killed the player of the academy*
  • The villain wants to live*
  • The Extra's Academy Survival Guide*
  • Fated to Be Loved By Villains*
  • The Non-Mage at the Academy*
Then you will enjoy this novel.

... more>> To sum up, veteran gamer enters his Gameworld and using his knowledge and competency attempts to prevent the world from imploding.

Cute Heroines, Good Main Character Temperament (Not too dense), Cool Story Telling

I like this novel specifically cause the heroines seem human (flawed) in their interactions with MC, it is like watching ignorant self serving children deal with an adult, but unlike other novels their actions are reasonably written and explained because of their origin stories.

Give it a read. <<less

With the author of that similar novel I became the male lead who was clinging to the female leads going into indefinite hiatus is nice to get something with a virtually identical premise... On the surface.

Well it is subtlety different even on the premise, the protagonist seems to be a mostly nice guy that was framed, although the pre-possesed MC was definitely stalker-ish for whatever reason, the overarching story right now is a who dunnit and the original heroines being the potential culprits which is rather original.

A few actual heroines... more>> have showed up and they're nice I don't believe we've seen the end of them either. But the original heroines who are actually the antagonists have some seriously rotten personalities. It's difficult to put the blame squarely on them since non-possesed MC was doing weird stuff too. But yeah they're not good girls at least for what little I've seen.

The big problem with this is the chapter amount, sure the raws are there but I recommend some heavy stockpiling before giving this a go. Maybe 80 chapters or more at minimum. Although if you're peeved with the hiatus of the other novel like me you might want to dive in. But a crime mystery that won't get resolved for months and barely addressed in chapters at a time will be annoying. It has all other aspects a harem academy Korean novel usually has. <<less

This novel's story progression is kinda weird and the summary isn't accurate in capturing the outline.

I think Korean academies are sort of formulaic. They follow a certain structure to maintain their audience, like transmigrating to become a munchkin MC, or MC-raising-munchkins, munchkin something something, solving this and that. This novel tries to be different and is a pretty good attempt to break away from the normal.

MC's a guy who plays a gacha game in an academy setting, and this time he's transmigrating to... a stalker?

It starts off with the MC... more>> criticizing the developer for including Ian in a Gacha academy game, a seemingly nasty stalker character who tries to chase heroines by gifting them his XP and items, and then confessing to them. Because of Ian's poorly groomed self and stalker-like behavior, the heroines are repulsed by his appearance and actions. Why would you confess to four different people in quick succession if you're sincere in pursuing them and even NTR the player along the way? MC's response is understandably disgusted with Ian, and so are the heroines.

But the game developer's reactions to MC's criticism are instant anger and hatred, tossing him straight into the game. He shows the MC that Ian nearly got mu*dered by one of the confessed heroines, then throws off the line "The culprit is the non-v*rgin!" and leaves with a fake 'good luck'.

Let me be clear. This is some next-level incel nonsense, and fortunately the author had the MC denouncing the developer as clearly insane.

The next question would be... do the heroines need to get beaten up? While the developer is a crazy criminal, and Ian is extremely shady and weird (is the dev actually Ian in disguise?), the latter isn't even remotely close to evil to warrant a death sentence. This means Ian's killer need to get punished for attempted mu*der, but what about the remaining three? This is where things might get insanely cringey if the author doesn't write it properly and make it "I'm sorry for being horrible to my stalker!". I personally thought it was at best passable and at worst painful cringe.

Even before I read up to c109, I thought it's almost concluded that the girls are going to 'repent' for their actions on Ian, and indeed, 2/4 heroines expressed their contrition, even though there was nothing to be sorry about on Ian's past behavior. It was a really weird feeling and generally unpleasant because the MC is the one who made efforts to change Ian in a very presentable manner. No more stalking nonsense, nearly no burdensome behavior of being a 'nice guy', and helping the mostly unlikable heroines for the sake of saving the world.

Note that I used the word 'nearly'. Since mu*der attempt #1 on Ian failed, mu*der attempt #2 might happen, and these heroines are actually mu*der-machines capable, MC literally asked the first heroine "Are you a v*rgin?" in an unnaturally forced way to find out whodunnit, making me think that the author wanted to add this line in his novel no matter what for sh*t and giggles. I'm not sure if this is going to be some kind of toilet humor where he's going to ask every heroine this.

Finally, I find MC's reactions to be lacking. Ian is still shady and weird even up to c109. If only he expressed more emotions into wanting to beat the dev up each time he had to ask a s*upid line about v*rgins, or stopping the heroines' weird misunderstanding about Ian's past and current (MC) actions, I would have added some bonus points. All the original in-game heroines are so terribly flawed that it makes me wonder if Ian had a thing for disappointing girls.

Pretty good so far. I thought it was gonna be a copy paste of Clinging on to the Female leads, but it's not. While the premises of the two stories are pretty much the same, the details differ. The character the MC possesses provides much more support to the heroines, but is pushed off the roof in an attempted mu*der that is framed as a su*cide. The MC possesses him due to complaining about the character of Ian without knowing this, and he now has to find which heroine it... more>> was that tried to kill him, with his only clue being that shes a non-virg*n. Really weird that that's what the author decided to use, but eh. Theres only 11 chapters but I'm enjoying it more than its counterpart and I think it has a lot of potential. <<less

TYPICALLY same as "I became the ML who was clinging to the FL" In a way but the plot is very different with a lot of changes especially MC childhood friend which I kinda starting to hate for some reason.

One huge Drawback but uniqueness to this novel is that the FLs are shit, literally by my terms... They are cold which I understand and the original ML is not that honourable too but their personality is Shitier the more I read it. I hope MC put some reasoning amd faceslap... more>> them in the future chapters.

Looking forward to new chapters hopefully it will be not follow the same old KR novels of

The plot itself is cliche but thats not a bad thing. What is bad is how boring the authors writing is and how its another essay type novel where the author is trying to fill his word quota by making it unecessarily long and dragging the chapters with repetitive and boring paragraphs. Its fine if you wanna copy and paste the plot of every generic cliche of this type of harem novel, however at least make the story itself good with interesting dialouge between characters which is the main reason... more>> you read romance harem novels. <<less

It was okay.

The premise is good and engaging. Find the culprit among the 4 heroines. However, its taking too long for their interactions to amount to anything.

The hero only interacted with 2 heroines in the early chapters and it was just the MC avoiding them with one liners. I get that he wants to have no interactions with them, since they rejected him and he's moving on, but isn't he also trying to find the culprit too. As a reader, it just feels unfulfilling to see the author drag the... more>> main story and focus on filler plot like class assignments and expulsion hearing. Then we get the scenes with MC and heroines and it just ends with MC saying one line and leaving.

I get what the author is doing; the author is building up the story that MC changed and want all the herorines to regret rejecting him as their stop receiving benefits from him, but I don't like the drag and don't understand MC's investigation tactics. <<less

This is 4 going on 5 stars for me. I am really enjoying it and curious to see where it goes. This latest chapter had a huge cliffhanger, so it does remain to be seen. Also there was a large Chekov's gun in the recent events so the work is still setting up for big reveals.

Mystery genre that takes over from around 20 chapters.

Outside that, its pretty mediocre - nothing exceptional about the MC's past, personality, motives, development - same for the female leads - or the setting.

Current translations available are noticeably not great.

Outside the mystery and the heroines being villainous: it is sort of the typical dense protagonist, harem, heroines regret. The particulars are even somewhat below average, with the female leads being almost nonexistent in the world until its time for the MC to interact with them. The first meetings and early fall... more>> feels one dimensional.

There was a somewhat nice moral around ~c100 that challenge the typical powerlevel mentality, though not thoroughly expanded on and no developments came from it as of the chapters read.

As an aside, the element of Possession really takes away any emotional impacts from this story - the unvindicated original character is gone, isekai MC is acting like he was the one wronged. There are better vindication/rdo stories out there with similiar settings. <<less

Picture this scenario.

There is this currently ongoing live-service gacha game, with loved and favoured heroines who are the stars of the game.

Now enter male side character number 1. He subtly makes his way into the main plot and attempts to help these heroines. But he is viewed as unlikable and labeled a stalker with his overly friendly and drastic actions towards them by many players and even in-game characters, diminishing the game's reputation.

Now, the novel's protagonist/main character, a long-time player of the game, can't help but vent his frustrations on... more>> this character and how his appearance has messed up the state of the game. Imagine the shock he has when he becomes this very character.

That is the very premise of this novel, in which the protagonist has to figure out why this character was viewed the way he was and adapt to his newfound identity while figuring out the identity of someone who has framed him. A mystery in a fantasy game.

The MC's motivations are understandable, and the interactions between him and the "heroines" are interesting, as their personalities are more complex than what is shown on the surface.

I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick but engaging and entertaining story and relatively likeable characters. <<less

9/10 (my god, this is good)

Probably one of the most interesting novels I havc read in a loooong time, like really, this one really is good. Interesting characters, nice story, a bit of lack wordbuilding, but the relathionships and our MC kinda balance that. Truth be told, I really liek that it manage to do something right, (spoilers) ... more>>
Spoiler

I really like that he actually cut contact with the four "main girls", and there is no chance for anything else, (Danya my best girl, she is number 1, and I will get mad if the author doesnt give my cat girl the weeding wiht the MC, silvia, a close second) the only bad point is the beggining, but for only the fact that the way MC is transported ius kinda s*upid, after that? Such a good story!

Pretty good story and the writing pulls it together. Good as a comfort read. Don't go in expecting to have your world changed and you'll be satisfied.

The gripes I have so far:

  • chapters that focus on the normal parts of the academy are notably weak. The author doesn't seem to have much interest in the overall setting that doesn't directly involve the protag. Not inherently a bad thing, but it can make some of the side characters hard to understand and it muddles the normal power-level of the world to me
  • MC is very oblivious. This is the only gripe that actually bothers me when it comes up. I don't know whose fantasy it is to have every woman you meet fall for you meanwhile you are unable to pick up on any hints. I'm not sure if he is Machiavellian with how he treats people but just weak to direct confessions or if he's just really bad at reading people and just has a stunning lack of self-awareness
  • The side-characters are a bit weak. They aren't unlikable but once they join MC, they do tend to be fairly 1-dimensional so your opinion will basically just be if you like that character trope. It's all very cliche anime, but I like anime cliches so they vibe with me. This is a gripe because some of the characters have a lot of potential to be more interesting than they're allowed to be
A few positives:

  • Pretty interesting solutions to problems. It's never mind-blowing and I wish some of them were better telegraphed to the reader but MC rarely wins through pure newly-gained bullheaded strength alone
  • the world is interesting. Hence why I would like to know more about it outside of what relates directly to what MC is doing
  • The MC is very likable when not dealing with romance or the wider world outside of his harem. I especially like that the MC treats the world and people as real and isn't constantly being weird about how "things have deviated from the script." It actually seems like he played and understood the game well enough to improvise as opposed to many other similar MCs that seem to have just studied the wikis for the games they get trapped in lol

So far so good. MC is prioritizes himself for now and focused on developing while trying to find the girl who schemed against him. He is basically an earth/metal mage, and he can cover his body with metals or strengthen himself using it so he can be somewhat of a close combat mage.

Standard mid fare with subtle cringe until around c85 or so. Knock-off European names operating under Korean behavioral norms. Overly conservative emotional women. Dense protagonist with a shallow and childish moral-value system. Cat people who are required to have "nya" somewhere in their names. Forced rizz and lame dad joke humor. MC's last name sounds like black angus steak. No one knows how to communicate properly, and the MC always says misleading things that don't get translated properly into double entendres or pseudo-flirting or whatever the author is trying to... more>> do.

There's also an ongoing storyline that's reads like a badwomensanatomy meme. Ignorant bs when discussing virg*ns. MC comes off as a pretentious know-it-all that the author is trying to portray as a well-rounded adult. Filler content repetition per chapter is anywhere from 10-25% of total content rehashing the same things over and over. All dialogue within the story can be classified as such: meaningless, misunderstanding, melodrama, or mumbling.

Fight scenes have no sense of spatial awareness. It becomes clunky and confusing. Whenever more than two entities occupy a single scene, there's no sense of where they are in relation to each other.

Turns cringe AF after chapter 89 with the anatomy ignorance, and goes onto become full of anime slapstick cartoon violence during regular character interactions. <<less
