I know it's unreasonable to always expect a woman to travel for a man's job. But I think we have to understand this into perspective of I think just what people contribute I think she contributes a lot to this family that is true. But she can only be this spoiled because her husband and her in-laws are okay with it but most of all her husband is. So to be honest she is being spoiled to the degree that she understands that she can be. But she is heartless like genuinely. I don't think she cares about him. I think the fact that she was like no I don't want to do that at all was like and like was already looking for replacements but all she wanted to do was make sure he didn't get like another wife or like just for her comfort really... And tried to appease him in that way but not for any other reason other than that.... She really is selfish. Like not in a good way. Like she that is not actually being like selfish and then also appreciating someone's consideration for you. Because he has done a lot for her and he has allowed a lot for her end and this ancient China setting, to be honest a lot of her power is based on him. And what he does. She has not asked once why he wanted to be transferred even if it's a surprise that she didn't want. And I think that is inconsiderate and very heartless. Because first of all it's inconsiderate because her power and her wealth is directly linked to her in-laws and her husband and her husband is pretty much the backing of this entire family considering he is the future. And she is not appreciating that but she is taking advantage of the fact that she knows she can get away with it. Of course it can be argued that because she does offer a lot emotionally and bring a lot of different atmosphere that is just as equal to this family... It is I think still incomparable to the fact that her husband gives her so much grace and accepts her and also her husband and her husband's family give her so much power to be so free. So if she is so free then shouldn't she also be grateful? But she's not. Because she's not willing to do one thing which is like yeah move with her husband who is only doing this for the prosperity of the family. Because even if it's for his own ambitions... It's still about the longevity of the family line because he understands there's really no way up and there is only you know swords in the future because everyone else's position before him was so high. So the fact that she never even asked why he was going to move and stuff and genuinely want to know.. I know she is lazy and she doesn't care a lot unless it hurts her bottom line.. I thought she was at least considerate and thought and I thought that she at least was grateful and could see when someone is treating her well. And I guess I expected too much from her. But I thought she was reasonable. But now I kind of I feel the same as her husband to be honest. I feel like wow she's heartless. Like I don't like it. I think she is very blessed because she can be heartless because her in-laws and her husband allow her to be so like in another way you can question well if she knows she can be then why doesn't she just do it because you know it is a lot to expect that a woman should always follow a man. But at the same time like I think it's just the fact that what is she really contributing... She is contributing a lot let's not be changed this entire family dynamic to be more loving in a weird way or at least more charming. Maybe not loving cuz she doesn't really deeply love anyone but she does care about them I guess. But not enough definitely not enough. She cares about herself first that is for sure. Which is fine but I think this part where she's so adamantly was like I'm not going to leave and I'm not going to follow him was just like wow like honestly I felt like disconnected to her to be honest. That was the moment where I just felt like well I don't think I like this novel anymore. Because I read this novel for the family life yes but I also read this as on romance novel and for me the romance is not there. Like for me even when he she was caring for him I still found that romantic. But like the fact that she is so heartless like this scene really showed her that she was hard as like she does not care she could easily replace.. She only cares about her comfort so that's why she even like comforted him.. But she only she really does only care about herself which is I guess expected but I really did expect a little more from that cuz you can care about yourself and still be considerate and still be appreciative of people who let you be yourself and appreciate yourself. And all of those nuances but I thought this novel had it but I don't know. Also like ultimately this makes it not a romance novel...

Kinda roasting the family here but you're gonna call the kid spoiled.... I get the grandmother is really smothering and the whole nanny micromanaging helicopter parenting is annoying af, but literally I wouldn't fault the kid because he just wasn't taught how to behave, manage his emotions or interact with people.

Also I have a gripe with the husband. How is he going to be so unfeeling after straight up banging MC on their wedding night, which is like the 2nd ever time they met in their whole lives (they're just glorified strangers) or not doing aftercare. He was written to be quite rough in s*x. I get it's a patriarchial society but still.... the blatant inconsideration for the little things annoyed me

The contents of the trunk are things collected from their time together, little tokens of love. It's genuinely sweet. The MC looks at them and puts them away and doesn't comment, the ML doesn't ask. They already communicated their thoughts and feelings. It's this kind of writing I really like. The author shows how the leads feel toward each other through their actions and how they handle situations.

I don't know whether it's because of his first wife's death, the ML tried his best to treat the MC better. In the past, he was too strict.
