Onii-chan, you’re seriously a god. I could eat this forever!

Today as always, first-year high schooler Kazami Houri spends his time in the classroom geeking out with his fellow otaku friends. But Houri has a secret.

The popular girl in his class, model and beauty Katsuki Sakura, is actually his stepsister. Not only are they living together— they’re also dating.

At school, Sakura keeps a proper distance from Houri, doing her best to make sure no one finds out about her love for him or her otaku hobbies. But at home, they’re totally lovey-dovey—watching anime, dressing up in cosplay, and enjoying Houri’s homemade meals together!

“The simmered fish is sooo good!”

And so, another fun and cozy dinner for the two of them begins.

I have to say — I haven’t felt this emotionally wrecked by a story in a long time. I went in expecting something lighthearted, full of fluff, and overall sweet — the kind of relaxing read with warm moments and soft vibes, something along the lines of Tenshi.

But what I got was... something entirely different.

Instead of just floating through a rosy, feel-good romance, I ended up reading something much closer to Living with My Stepsister — except heavier, more introspective, and honestly more difficult to digest.

There’s a ton of character... more>> development here. The protagonists feel emotionally mature and make thoughtful, grown-up decisions — but the path they take to reach those decisions is so turbulent and mentally messy that it’s almost uncomfortable to watch unfold.

The story swings wildly between emotional extremes — sometimes absurd in its inner monologues, sometimes incredibly grounded and painfully real. And those shifts catch you off guard in the best and worst ways.

At first, I was ready to read it, enjoy it, and forget about it. But weirdly enough, the emotional punch it delivers is something I’ll probably carry with me much longer than I expected.

I absolutely recommend it — especially if you’re into school romances with more depth and emotional friction.

The translation, in my opinion, is very solid — natural and expressive. What’s really missing, though, is editing. There were moments where I genuinely got confused about whose perspective I was reading, especially during longer monologues or scene transitions. That narrative clarity only returned after several paragraphs, which made the flow harder to follow at times.

Still, the story itself is more than worth it. <<less
