Not a bad short little story at all.

Definitely painful for the first half as the characters grapple with their grief and bewilderment. There is a mystery about the brother's death but it's not at all what you expect and in some ways it's even more devastating for the MC.

I liked how the story depicted the whole family coming together to help each other with the grieving process and finding a way forward, that was nicely done. However, with the therapist friend who the ML contacted to help the MC, the... more>> emphasis should be on friend and not therapist cause that is not how therapy works. I didn't like how

he was giving advice to both the MC and ML and telling them things about each other which is BEYOND unethical. You want to play cupid? Don't be their therapist at all.

Granted, you rarely see therapy get a proper, or half-assed depiction in stories often. At least the ML didn't just try to do it himself. I'm also ignoring that the MC's problems were resolved in the space of a few months - again, just get used to it, it shows up all the time.

Aside from that it was a nice story with a heavy on the tissues start and a sweet ending. <<less
