It is a ritual called “Hero Summoning”.
However, the three who were summoned all fail, which is a ridiculous result, and the one who lead the summoning is furious.
They are thrown out of the castle.
Still, in order to survive, they take up a job called “Walker”.
Awaiting them are mountains, forests, and jungles.
They are attacked by creature that similar to boars, deer, and wolves, which are called magical beasts.
And the three are forced to live a life of survival.
To earn money, to eat, and to live.
The three fools hunt again today.
They hunt and eat, they kill to eat.
They are neither heroes nor the protagonists of a fairy tale.
That is why they do not bring about changes that will change the world.
However, no matter where
If you’re alive, you get hungry.
That’s why they continue to fight for survival today.
In the forest of another world, they put their hands together and say “Itadakimasu” (thank you for the meal).
Repeating this, the men prepare a “man’s meal” outdoors today as well.
Steak! Fried chicken! Salt-grilled river fish! Rice and vegetables!
No special dishes are needed.
This is “man’s meal,” after all.

Kind of an ass pull at the beginning with the monster boar where Azuma barely held it though he did have better armor than most beginner walkers? Considering they're level 1 at the time and people say it's not something newbies hunt and the average person stated in the novel who never went hunting have like level 10 or some sh*t already, so either levelling up have minor effects like if the average person has a stat of 10 str at level 10, then each level gives like small amounts but enough to make a very impressive difference like 0.4 per level and that you can pad your stats without levelling up like working out to increase str and such. Honestly makes it nice.
The view on demonkind saying they're like "beggars" (according to branch chief) makes me assume they don't really fear them although in hindsight it was never plainly stated that they feared them, so I guess they just really didn't want to become a demon? So as for now, I think this manga is nothing more than slice of life rather than a full on demon king yadda yadda stuff. Or maybe it will be a future plot twist, who knows. There seems to a bit of apprehension but no full blow fear against demons. They're just being discriminated against I guess, and used as a way for countries to flaunt power by summoning heros to fight against their (presumed) nonexistent "king".
