As other reviews say, the charm about this novel is how real both the female and male lead feel and its deviation from typical reincarnation stories. It balances itself wonderfully between clichés and new takes.

I personally disagree that the female lead is weak. Rather than wit and charm, her strength is in her ability to persevere through the most difficult circumstances. It's refreshing how unlike many other novels, things don't magically work out for her. She doesn't have the intuition to scheme nor the smarts to politically maneuver against her... more>> tyrannical family because she was never given a formal education. Instead, we have a girl running toward losing fights in a desperate attempt to defy her ab*sers. Furthermore, her childhood of neglect and ab*se cause her to remain an eternal outsider to aristocratic life. There's just a lot of dimension to her character I love.

Despite the title and formulaic genre of "taming" an aggressive male lead, it's really a love story about two extremely lonely individuals isolated by their environment who find solace in each other. Its slow pacing also works in its favor, as it allows their relationship gradually evolve from strangers, to friends/siblings (ish), to lovers. <<less

MAN I really can't get enough of these ''Girl tames Tyrant'' stories huh? Also what's up with these novels pairing totally non blood related siblings together? Every time I see them kissing I thibk of the ''What are you doing step bro?'' tiktok lmao. So much so, I was surprised when The Villainess is a Marionette didn't pull the same plot twist.

Anyway, I'm a tr*sh so I like it. I love when MCs give (un) conditional love to the MLs and MLs devote themselves to them. Classic and tr*shy but... more>> it's enjoyable! <<less

I have been patiently waiting for this update. I have been PRAYING for someone, ANYBODY, to pick this story up. And it f*cking happened. I can now go to sleep peacefully now.

Anyway, this story is PHENOMENAL. When this story took a break, I tried finding other stories that resonated the same vibe as this, but unfortunately the hole haven't been filled. The way that its written feels realistic. The mental and physical ab*se the MC and ML goes through is heartbreaking. Other stories that have ab*se is usually pushed off... more>> to the side and done and over. The Tyrant's Beloved Doll does not do that. It repeatedly enforces the ab*se and after effects that cannot be so easily healed.

And the MC isn't magically smart and fooling every enemy at every turn. No, this sh*t is a slow burn at its finest. Even though the MC is mentally matured, she is still going to make mistakes and thats perfectly fine. No one is perfect. And I f*cking love that.

Honestly the way the heroine lets herself be mistreated by everyone (him included) is just rediculous! The least she could do now that she came back is try to stand for herself a little! She's just talking it all without retaliating even once this way she'll never get awaway from being a victim to their plans. Unless she gets his affection from his pity which is just as bad to me... & honestly although I did feel bad for ML at fist now I'm just trying hard not to straight... more>> out despise him... Why is he being so aggressive towards her while knowing how badly she lives! Why resent her for something he knows she doesn't even have! & from the look of it he seems to have a better life than hers... At least he's loved & protected by his mother unlike her... Although I can't blame him for his violent tendency & all seeing the environment he grew in I still hate how he's just ignorantly & baselessly blaming her for all the bad things happening to him while knowing damn well that her situation isn't better than his... The situation is overexaggerated and v melodramatic (like with the wounds he would've died five times over), but what everyone says about the character is real. She's not really good at anything, and she's very weak. That's the type of environment she grew up in, where everyone looked down at her and oppressed her, so the personality she came out with makes sense. She doesn't handle the situations perfectly, but it makes it more realistic. ML is a real scum, but he was also ab*sed, and I like that he... more>> doesn't fall for her quickly at all.

That said, it makes no sense to me how everyone else would be like this at 18 lmao. It would've been better if author wrote ML & the half-siblings to like 15 instead, and then rebellion at 18. Oh well. <<less

I feel rather emotional right now. This is the most brutal Palace drama between children I have ever seen in my life. And the fact that our little MC is trying to gain the favour of someone who's literally already an adult. That's gonna be hardcore for her.

What else can I say? It's literally a place where is to be use or used, kill or be killed. This sh*t hole of a Palace is even worse than a jungle.

This isn't your usual fluffy reincarnation story. This is a survival journey.

By the way, for those who think this is in*est: it's not, don't worry. The tags itself say they are not blood related at all. Even the synopsis says so. So just think of them as brothers in name only uwu

The first chapter itself hooked me in! And I really like the fact that a sociopsychological phenomenon called the 'self-fulfilling prophecy' happened there o3o. (Pardon my psychological rambling, I learnt about this in one of my classes recently so I got excited as soon as I noticed it abdakdnakns)

This tragically beautiful novel is about two broken individuals forming a bond and finding solace with each other within a horrid environment. I honestly believe the summary does not give this story justice, it may initially seem like a typical reincarnation story with an obsessive ML and carefree FL but it's so so much deeper than that. Both Sezh and Raytan have many layers to each other, like other reviewers have already written, they act like real people. FL is not the excessively good Samaritan who is perfect and can... more>> do no wrong, she also isn't the scheming person who is cold and takes revenge for breakfast. She's just a neglected princess who is trying to find happiness in this terrible situation. ML is also the same, with all his seemingly cold and ruthless persona, all I can see is a poor boy who is also neglected, ab*sed, and manipulated by his environment. They're both lovable and well-written characters and I honestly root for their happiness that I'm getting teary-eyed just typing this out.

It's not just them though, the other characters here are also well - written. Normally, I'd just scoff when reading the one dimensional Super Bad Family members in novels but I just can't with this novel. They're written with nuance and I love that. There's more going on behind the scenes, so many mysteries to solve, more developments to occur and I can't wait to read more of that.

This is surprisingly really good and well written! It’s one of those web novels that don’t take two paragraphs to describe the smallest detail, which is refreshing, but it’s still pretty good at setting the scene. Not to mention, it’s surprisingly realistic. I know that going back in time and taming your tyrant brother who killed you isn’t really realistic, but the development of the relationship and of the characters themselves is really well written. Our FL isn’t automatically some super smart bad ass and it makes her all the... more>> more love able as she feels more like a real person. I also love how we see the ML grow as a character and begin to cherish her. Not to mention, the romance aspect isn’t the only good thing about the story. The hidden mystery elements make it SO fun to read and I was so hooked.

and as a bonus, the translators seem like the coolest people out there. Thanks translators!!

So far the translation is excellent which adds the the enjoyment of the story. The FL is taken back to her childhood to correct her past and become support for the villainous ML and keep him from becoming evil, which is pretty typical of this type of plot. So far it's nothing new, but give It a try!

I wish I wish oh I wish indeed.. that I found this novel when it already finisshhed. I'm not really sure what's happening with the translations. Travis Translations isn't even working for me, but I wish this updated a lot more often. Anyways, I love this novel! normally, I would read 30 chapters of something and then stop... for no particular reason.. and just read something else and come back to it whenever I come back. But I just read all 114 chapters within a day (maybe two) and that's... more>> with me still having to do life like stuff. I basically read this whenever I had the chance. I would sincerely give this a shot if you like yandere types. I originally thought the FL would be basically using him most of the time and only 100s of chapters in she would realize she actually cared for him. But it's not ljke that at all. It's a good story of bonding that is eventually leading to love. You can really feel the ab*se these characters have endured from their mothers. The ML's mother was loving towards him, but only to manipulate him into doing her bidding. The FL's mother beats her for just existing, along with tearing down her self esteem.

The bonding process is slow, but realistic. The ML is conflicted over his feelings for the FL. At first for the FL getting close to him was for her survival, but slowly starts caring for... more>> him.

I'm really sad. I've been loving this story and wanted to finish, but the translator announced she couldn't do it anymore. I'm really hoping someone else can pick this novel up, soon. <<less

The title really captivated me into reading this plus the cover. As I read this, though the "just died and went back to past life" thing is common, it's still interesting. I don't mind the slow pace because once we get to the best part, I know it will be worth it. I'm enjoying the story so far. Waiting for more sezh and raytan moments. Also what kept me going into reading this is that the translation is so good and very easy to understand. Keep it up. Sml♡

I love this novel so far, I look out for the updates and get super excited when a new chapter is uploaded.

The story can be alittle slow to develop but I thinks I feel that way because I am keen to read it. The dynamics between the characters is good, and while the ML is a little harsh, I am expecting rhat his backstory will explain this. There is definately enougb intrigue to keep you interested.

O and the translater is excellent.

The writing and translations are fine, and the characters and mostly fleshed out, but the FL's motivations for sticking to the ML feel so contrived. She gets berated by him, looked down upon, and mocked, almost solely because she thinks she can get him to like her and not kill her when the time comes. Why she thinks that, and why this would be a better idea than preparing herself to run away a little before the massacre is beyond me, aside from the fact that this is the progression... more>> the author wants. This is not factoring in the fact that he literally kills her, and she has no sequelae whatsover, except to want to be his companion...

In other words, based on the protagonists personality, common sense, and backstory I find her actions and the basic premise kind of incomprehensible. I'm okay with plot holes but not when it involves the actual relationship of the leads. Of course, I stopped quite early so maybe things change. <<less

This novel is amazing. The characters are well fleshed out and lovable throughout every step of the way, and though it's very slow paced if you come into it looking for romance if you cast that aside for a second and let the characters grow and live things in their own time I don't think the pacing is bad at all. The translation is a joy to read and I'm always looking forward to new chapters

I like the realistic charm of the story even if it's the regression genre. FL isn't c*cky or cheeky when it comes to putting herself under ML's wing--unlike Who Made Me A Princess or Daughter of the Emperor. ML is a non-toxic yandere which I think we all love.

I don't really write reviews but my reading of this novel has prompted me to really vouch for more readers.

I am obsessed with the reincarnation genre and read a lot of novels related to it. However, this is definitely one of the best written one that I have read so far (the other being The Villainess Lives Twice). From characterisation to plot it just keeps me wanting more.

Plot:

The synopsis of the plot is exactly what this novel is about but more! There are things happening that is intriguing which I... more>> am dying to find out. The writing of the novel is almost impeccable and that is also due to the amazing translation! I know that some web novels are MTL which can really detract away from the experience of reading as grammar and poorly structured sentence can leave us readers feelings disconnected from the novel.

Characters:

Sezh

She seemingly looks like a pushover but she is so feisty when she needs to be. When you have been ab*sed as she has, you can really see why she is reserved and so innocent. Although she is living her reincarnated life to save her own ass, the relationship between Sezh and Raytan is really endearing. She genuinely cares for Raytan and is a shining light in his desolate life.

Raytan

We love a cold protagonist that is warm to people that he loves! He is lonely and his birth has many mysteries that we have yet to uncover. I also feel like he is a heavily ab*sed person whose mentality has been messed with from birth. I absolutely feel sorry for him but I love the fact that although he enter a siblings relationship with Sezh it is evident that he has developed strong feelings for her (even though he is in denial phase).

I really cannot wait for more updates on the novel and to see what else the author has in store for us. Jealousy is in the air, the plot is gaining more momentum and romantic feelings are slowly being unravelled! <<less
