Read this story if you want a fluffy romance between a coquettish MC who was timid but shed all of that away and became more confident and outspoken together with a misunderstood serious ML. MC is more confident after his rebirth and somehow is noted to be very smart and shines brilliantly despite not having any formal education. ML was a hothead tyrant who apparently mellowed down after MC came into his life. A little bit of misunderstandings that were solved quickly. Minimal angst. Antagonists defeated easily.

This story really reminds... more>> me of another novel with a tyrant ML and a soft MC due to the similar concepts such as ML making up stories to make MC deity-like so that their children will be accepted as being born from a male.

The story progression is interesting but I felt that some aspects were glossed over. Primary focus is the MC and ML, with no depth to the side characters despite numerous characters popping up. Even the antagonists felt shallow.

It is an okay read. Translation is superb. Thank you! <<less

It just checks all the marks for me. Because I really don't like dragged story and background seme. MC and ML complements each other and though this one can may as well extend the story explaining the other supporting characters, maybe there was other extras I wasn't able to find. Every character, though big or small has a spot.

This is just pure love. A recommended read.

I've been in a rebirth danmei marathon and this has been my third consecutive read!

I didn't expect this to have a touch of fantasy, especially at the end part regarding the MC's background. I was caught off guard but it's not specifically a bad thing. I'm actually more on the relationship between the MC and ML. Maybe what I loved the most about these rebirth novels is the way the MC and ML cherishes their relationship more genuinely and realizes how they deeply loved each other. I loved... more>> the sweetness that they gave me from reading their interactions. I'm so into their relationship so much!

I've read the MTL almost halfway through the novel and even though it's manageable to read, I think I still missed a lot of things. If not for that, I think I would have rated this novel higher.

I highly recommend this to anyone, especially who loved historical and rebirth danmei! <<less

This is really good. If you live the wife is first, you'll definitely like this.

The obstacles faced by the characters are pretty real and nobody is too OP. Super fluffy story which ended with a kinda fantasy / magical ending. I think it's pretty rare to see novels that continues well after the gong becomes the emperor but this story did and did very well

Not a bad read, but after a while, the focus is mostly on the political intrigue, so I got bored. Still worth reading though! It’s arranged like your typical revenge-driven rebirth story, but in a more natural way. Not so directed. At least, the MC is not eagerly chasing after it, it’s just the trouble comes knocking no matter what. Which splits the tone of the story in two. One is the face-slapping aspect and the other is the sweet, slice of life romance between the reborn MC and the... more>> pitiful ML who stuck with him in his previous life.

Summary: The MC (An Changqing) was a timid and cowardly kind of person. His life at home was not good, and he was often bullied, resulting in a very meek personality. That is why, when he was asked to become the male wife of the rumored bloodthirsty northern warlord, he was entirely against it. He spent his first life like this, always avoiding his husband and just willing his time away. He didn’t realize his wrongs until he died prematurely and was forced to wander around his husband as a ghost — only to be left to see his miserable end. During his second chance at life, he intends to live happily with his husband, and refuses to let anything get in their way.

I liked the romance aspect, it was chill and sweet, despite the fact that the personality of the characters are a bit formulaic (kind, soft shou and apathetic and stoic gong that only cares about the MC lolol). The political intrigue was interesting as well, but after reading many similar stories, I can already guess where things are going, so it’s not as fun anymore.

ANYWAY, as per usual, since half of what I read was in MTL (which is 70% readable), I won’t be giving this a full review. As for the preliminary rating, it would have to be around 3-4 stars out of five. <<less

This novel is good, but have the same rhythm like others reborn kind. Here the timid MC became a brave guy after rebirth, try to change the future of him and ML, and fixing the misunderstanding between them. He knows that the rumors are fake. Actually the ML is kind of a scary guy with timid heart and have a soft spot for him. No dramama, just some hurdle on the way. And there's twin baby but just a passerby Chara.

I still have to read the extras and read the second half of this mtl. The translators did a really amazing job on the first half and I will definitely by rereading the second half as they translate... it is just patience has never been one of my virtues

Good relationship and fun story. I liked the fantasy elements weaved in. A little bit nationalistic, as these historical stories often are, but I have read worse. Really enjoyed the HE the secondary characters got.

It was not bad but I was quite bored by the end and the last 20 or smth chapters have been read for 2 or 3 months and I just finished it (mtl). I rated it 4 but it was more like 3.5 for me. I would not recommend it but also would not discourage anyone from reading it as it is neither loss nor win to do so. After such a long break btw starting, reading most of the novel and at last finishing the last few chapters I... more>> do not really have much to say about plot and characters. <<less

What an amazing read! I’m glad I stumbled upon this novel.

Characters: I think the author is really good at writing the development of each character in this novel. The growth of the main leads are gradual but not too slow.

Storyline: I like how the author maintained the essence of “re-birth” and making subtle changes to the present storyline without making it seem like an outrageous face slapping novel. The author did not need to make up unnecessary buff for the MC just so they could overcome each obstacle. The character... more>> was already well-written enough that there was no need for it.

For the misunderstanding trope, I’m glad they didn’t drag it on for too long (it was cute and totally not frustrating at all).

I couldn’t stop binge reading everything and enjoyed it so much from beginning till the latest chapter. Also, kudos to the translator for this novel! Well done 👏 <<less

So far it's pretty Good!

Nothing heavy happen so far. There's few tension, but that's from others who tried to make things difficult. But so far everything easily solved.

Things between MC and ML are pretty good. Mostly Fluff. Because MC won't wrong ML anymore, but he also won't let ML being far away from him. MC stop being weak because he had do that in the previous life and that lead him to sadness for him and ML.

MC being so Confidence, but he's no OP. He's not s*upid nor naive, but... more>> he's not Smart 'Smart'. His knowledge about Previous life also limited. But he will told ML what he knew and feared.

Anyway so far it's really good. I still can't guess how the future would played, but I pray so hard the rest of the story would give us Satisfactory. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Updated at 20 October 2024:

I'm just soooo glad and relieved that the babies born healthy and safe. And our MC also gave birth safe and sound. No intense moment whatsoever. So so relieved. There was intense moment before, but nothing about the pregnancy. Which was so relieving!

I pray the rest of the story gave no big trouble for our CP and their friends/Allies. <<less
