If you are looking for a sweet and fluffy type of romance, look no further. This is humorous, romantic with occasional conflicts in the plot line. It focuses more on the development of our male lead and main character, using the political field as a tool for their growth.

Xue Yao, our protagonist, is smart, witty and clever. Although he does use a golden finger to help him steer the plot, he uses the items in due diligence without the excessive greed for fame. Although, he does come off as overtly powerful with his modern skills, Xue Yao seems to adapt to the situations well, making him a very likeable character.

Prince Ning has a neurological condition, apparently explaining a lot of his previous actions in the original tale. Due to his condition, he is described in an over powering manner, implying that his condition facilitates his ability. This is an inaccurate portrayal of the condition however it does add originality to the character. He actually has the most character development as he transitions from the innocence of a child to the maturity of an adult through various trials. Although, he seems to have lost his humanity and empathy at one point, Xue Yao is still the only one he remains gentle towards. The interact between him and Xue Yao is extremely touching but also hilarious at times.

A favourite scene of mine is when Xue Yao coaxs the prince with his flavoured milk and candies. It seems so cute for the younger Prince Ning attach his love to a bottle of milk. It sort of shows the significance of Xue Yao in his heart.

I personally enjoyed this novel and managed to finish it in one sitting. However, please turn off your logical brain when reading this so that you can fully enjoy the romance inside the plot. It is suitable for people who want to read something simple and easy after a long haul of complicated twists and turns. <<less

This novel is underrated. With only two reviews on NU, I risked to read this and I found a gem! Now, I recommend this to everyone!

It has plots, comedy, palace drama [which is not too complicated but it's there and will not make you feel like tearing up something or want to beat someone up xD], romance (mostly at the end and the extras are chef's kiss as well! There's also adventure, curing diseases, the enthronement of a new emperor is also funny XD

ML is also addicted with MILK! Lmao. Even if he's already a grown up man, this boi needs to be fed with his favorite MILK! Milk must be from YaoYao!

ML is cute 🤧 Cute cub but when he grew up, he's a beast but only Yaoyao will experience it head on lol

The story was interesting enough and I'm fine with couple but there were too many loose ends. What happened to that general from the story book that never got to be a general in this life, it clearly meant so much to him that he died for gratitude. What about the 4th prince? He suffered so much from the beginning and deserves a better end. What about the 5th prince's marriage? He had problems with his wife until the end. What about the 6th??? His love story ends abruptly in... more>> the middle, literally in the middle of the plot, while his at war too!!!

Also I'm sad that the ML is so bad in bed that the MC only felt pain and nothing else, not just the first time either. There's also no mention of a skill improvement or any willingness on his part to actually please the MC.

The main couple are ok, not my favourite type but still a good couple with mutual respect, love and decent communication. The ML has a sort of disorder/mental disability but he's also a genius on other fronts. I don't like that whole "he's only patient towards and good to this one person" type but he isn't terrible to other characters and also seems to love his mom and brothers in his own way so that's good, although he does loose his care for others more and more as the story progresses which is a shame. The MC's golden finger was also almost too much but thankfully it didn't end up that way in the end and he managed to get by by his own efforts with just some aid from the system and things weren't always easy for him, he had set backs (although it always went well in the end so he didn't have any losses).

It was a bit weird at that point where the ML was 12 but acted the exact same way as when he was 3 but the good thing is that there is not a quiver of romance between the two, not even a spark, until their both adults and also have has some time apart from each other because it would be to weird if that was not the case, given the fact that the MC transmigrated into that world when he was in his 20s in his world and while the ML was 3, but they only had romance after they were both in their 20s in that world and their relationship dynamic was also sort of equal.

A nice thing is that the side characters weren't one note, and there was brotherly feelings between most of the princes. They had a cute and believable relationship with each other. The brotherly relationship was the best part of this story.

With that said there was a hint of misogyny in the way the story was written at times, also why was the king so easily forgiven, his wives and kids deserve better. It is hinted that the MC has some views towards ancient women which I find distasteful (and it makes him seem sort of lacking in empathy, as though he doesn't see women as humans, especially considering how much he empathises with the princes) but nothing particularly extreme and it didn't play a part in the story.

The plot was also good enough and the pacing wasn't too slow. It was entertaining enough for me to finish so that's something. <<less

This story really under-rated gem, it really well written from a lot of perspective. As a emotionally challenged person I find ML really understandable and all the effort MC put was kinda healing. Its really touching and I really loved all interactions.

This novel already well written and translated but woefully I agree the comments about author's trouble. But its impossible to not effected from comments so.

Really cute transmigration story, really recommend. Probably a 4.6 or 4.7 for me. Loved the relationship between MC and ML and most of the side characters! So many precious babies!!!! Very little brain dead actions (except for the twisting? Kinda threw me off whenever that appeared but maybe it was the MTL). Great pacing generally although would have like a more in depth exploration of how the main leads fell for each other, that part felt a little shallow. This is a really nice read! It's slow burn, in a good way since we can witness the growth of the MC & ML's relationship and affection throughout their lives. The comedy is on point, it's probably the funniest danmei novel I've read to date. Also the story itself is pretty cohesive and has a proper timeline flow.

The ML's quirks is one of the things that made the story funny and he's adorable in those ways. I like the nature of relationship between the MC and ML a lot.

It is an interesting story with a great MC but I felt that this story didn’t live up to its potential.

It’s basically a transmigration story of the MC becoming a cannon fodder and strives to change the future. He wants to prevent all the tragedies that happen to the ML (7th Prince) and he also tries to prevent the death of several people he cares about. The MC is not omnipotent but he is smart and hardworking - he uses his skills to try to change things. He isn’t exactly... more>> super OP, but has just enough System benefits to help him through problems.

This novel could’ve been better if the author fleshed out the story more. I don’t know why the author places restrictions on themselves and cuts several important events short. The author mentions this in their footnotes, that they sped up certain events. I felt that by not elaborating on certain things, the story just didn’t flow well.

For example, MC is the concubine-born son in the Xue household and has an overbearing brother, a father who only uses people, an the legitimate wife who bullies him and his mother. He mentions that the mother seems to give him maternal love. I expected more scenes about this, about MC overcoming problems in his household but it was only mentioned in a time skip that his mother divorces the husband and they’re cut off now. It didn’t help me form a bond with the MC and his family. It just felt like an afterthought.

The ML going for training and leaving the MC also was written quite fast and author claims its because MC is not the star of that section. It feels like it dimishes the pain the ML goes through and the pining the MC must have felt. I just didn’t feel like there was enough chemistry between them.

That’s just some of my complaints. There’s far too many plotholes that makes me quite annoyed. Antagonists are also defeated easily. The political part for the throne ascension just isn’t scheming enough. It’s basic and tropey. Despite that though it is an okay story because the MC is very interesting.

The best part of the story has to be the child arc. When they were all still little kids and the MC is struggling to change things in the harem. That’s my fave part. After that it just goes downhill for me. Oh well. Still giving it a 4 for the excellent 11/10 translation and the cute cubs in the beginning. <<less

Considering that I don't really like children that much, it amazing how the author managed to create the characters I simply fell in love with! The little cubs are adorable, lovely and hilarious. And the eldest brother too! MC is such a kind, sincere and caring person that it is understandable why all his allies treat him well in return. The story may have some faults but such wonderful characters were my whole focus while I was reading it, so I did not notice any.

It was entertaining at first but it got uninteresting in the middle imo. Their time as kids was too long, I kinda like the humor at first but it got repetitive. I just can' ship the main characters due to their age gap. Probably I could once they are adults but I got bored reading this.

It may be good as per other reviewers said but imo this aint just my cup of tea.
