Yes, I understand MC felt the need to lie because he didn't really know ML's real character. He only knew about ML from the novel he had read and in the novel, ML was supposedly evil. The thing is that even after realizing ML wasn't evil, but in fact someone very reasonable, he didn't make his own intentions clear. He still pretended to be in love with ML while in his head calling ML boss. Never did it occur to him that treating ML with such sincerity, taking care of him with so much thought and being so patient with him all the whilst saying he was in love with ML would actually make ML fall in love with him, even though MC had no intention of being with ML for real. All he was thinking of was nursing ML back to health and leave. It pissed me off.

MC is so oblivious that even after he himself decided to go through hell just in order to make it back home in time to wish ML happy birthday, MC still doesn't realize his own feelings for ML. He only thinks "I'm such a good employee". Like WHAT? And whenever ML does something super thoughtful for him he only thinks "what a great boss!" Where can I get a boss like that? I just won't get a partner, I'll just go find a good boss. What MC is doing is straight out dismissing ML's feelings, which I find disrespectful.

It rubbed me the wrong way already when MC didn't find kissing enjoyable but actually found it annoying that ML wanted to make out all the time. Dude, you are both each other's first love and first partner. Shouldn't making out for hours be something you'd both find quite enjoyable? What's this about finding it annoying? If you don't enjoy making out with your bf, then you're not that into him.

MC's attitude up to where I read was complete rejection of being intimate with ML. Not even a "want to but afraid of pain" or "want to, but too shy to admit I want to". It's plain "NO! It's annoying and embarrassing and painful. Get away from me" I can't keep on reading. It might get better afterwards, but I won't be finding out because I can't.

There's scene where he eats like 5 pounds of spicy crawfish (I think. MTL not that accurate) and then got sick from it. Like, yes, he was eating a lot because he was upset.... but 5 pounds? He's a silly baby.

He cooks food for the ML. I don't know if I need a spoiler for this since it's right in the beginning. But whatever. He sympathizes with the ML, because he died from stomach cancer. Not being able to eat well, is a sad thing for him, so he wants this big beauty to be healthy. He hates the ML's adoptive family for working him so hard just to throw him away, sick.

Because it was agreed upon both parties that Lin Ganzhi would leave after Yan Shengping got better. Yan Shengping did not want to be called "husband" or be associated with Lin Ganzhi. He kept telling Lin Ganzhi to leave. And then stopped nagging about it after their agreement.

After realizing that he, Yan Shengping, really liked Lin Ganzhi, he starts to actively seduce him. He asks a lot of questions, gives out seductive looks, and utterly spoils Lin Ganzhi. But he's well aware that this little silly fox is not enlightened. He's very patient and waits for Lin Ganzhi to realize that he feels something more than their comradeship. He's not mad at Lin Ganzhi but just feels a little suffocated because he's so dumb. But, he knows they're married and that Lin Ganzhi is attracted to his face. And at the end of the day, the little silly fox is very cute.

Lin Ganzhi... I don't remember when, but at some point he starts posting online (undercover) about his problems. I don't really understand it because of the MTL, but basically he was asking if brothers/friends can end up liking each other. Because he realized that he may really feel something more for Yan Shengping, other than appreciating his beauty. People online were like, "yea, ya'll can catch feelings like that." Lin Ganzhi is like "oh." When it hits him that he really likes Yan Shengping, he updates his posts, telling netizens that he likes his friend/brother, but doesn't know if it's reciprocated. Then they give him advice that are like "if he gives in to your unreasonable requests or drinks out of the same cup or etc." So Lin Ganzhi starts testing Yan Shengping.

Anyways, it never really gets there because Yan Shengping just ends up confessing after he realized that some other guy was using his financial powers to bully Lin Ganzhi (MC kicked his ass anyways). ML does beat the guy up, but after talking to Lin Ganzhi, he told MC that he wanted MC to not let himself get bullied. ML, himself, was still hiding his powers, but he was not weak enough to just let MC be bullied. Then he confesses.

MC hides away in embarrassment because he's never been in love. But the next morning, they kissed (by accident. they were both going for the cheeks, not lips) and confirmed their relationship. MC is very shy. It's very embarrassing for him to kiss and Yan Shengping is an aggressive old man/beast (like, he has been waiting for MC to be enlightened. he's ready to f*ck). MC's unwilling to have s*x as it would be his first time, but he knows ML wants to. And so he, again, asks online for advice about it.

ML does not rush MC. He wants to do it, but he doesn't want to force the MC. He knows it's too fast for this silly baby. But it does not stop him from kissing the sh*t out of MC. (they do f*ck later)

One being Yan Shengping's friend with the helicopter. After he picks up Lin Ganzhi, I don't think he's mentioned again. Another being the singer from the variety show. It made it look like he was Wen Renyi's uncle (they're both into music/piano as well), but he disappears. I only felt that they were related because he chased after her into the ocean during the rescue scene. And he vaguely talked about his niece. But he never shows up again, so maybe I was wrong?

They still technically were recording the variety show, but it was "pushed back." And then never seen again. Another thing is the white moonlight (forgot his name). After resolving the misunderstanding, this man never showed up again. Which I find weird because the man came to China for a reason. We don't even get to see him get chase out of the country or anything, he just disappeared (after Yan Shengping talked about him possibly randomly appearing in front of MC). There might have been more other sub plotlines, but I can't remember right now.

He doesn't start acting until the way end. Yan Shengping's sickness is the biggest reason, but it's also that he has trauma from the industry. It's only touched upon lightly, and then explicitly said in the end.

The story focuses a lot on the ML, but I think it's important to remember that Lin Ganzhi was also an orphan. He's also someone that got screwed over while working, doing the best he could. He's someone that also got sick. Because he was never adopted and was quickly blacklisted in the industry, he never had friends, a family, or a home. His character is cute and fluffy, but like Yan Shengping, he's insecure and self deprecating.
