Tang Mo transmigrated into an exhilarating cultivation novel. Upon learning the plot, he refused to continue being a cannon fodder lapdog and tool for others.

Resolutely, he left the sect, determined to establish his own path and live a good life.

However, on his way down the mountain, compassion stirred in his heart, and he picked up a pitiful, dying girl. Unexpectedly, this act of kindness brought him back none other than the villainous boss—the Demon Empress—who, in the years to come, would love him to the depths of her soul!

The Demon Empress: “Everyone deceived and harmed me, but you alone treated me sincerely. Since you were the one who barged into my desolate fate, healed my body, soothed my heart, and redeemed me, you will never have the chance to leave again…”

As time passed, his life only grew better. He transformed into a legendary master of alchemy and medicine, astonishing the three realms. With pills in one hand and medical skills in the other, his spiritual eyes could pierce through destiny itself. Immortal sects vied to win his favor, and great cultivators flocked to him without end.

The Grandmaster of Alchemy praised him, saying: “One pill can unlock the Dao of the Three Realms, and one medicine can reverse the gates of life and death.”

Meanwhile, his former junior and senior sisters, now wracked with regret, wept until their hearts nearly shattered, begging for forgiveness.

Tang Mo merely cast them a cold glance and said indifferently: “Sincerity is as worthless as dirt. A broken mirror cannot be made whole again.”

But in his heart, he scoffed: Weren’t you all supposed to follow the original plot and cling desperately to the protagonist? And now, you’re here wallowing in regret over me? Ridiculous.

This was a strange read.

The translation for this title is completely wrong. MC isn't a villain at all but a cannon fodder, and a weird one too. Arguably, the original protagonist/MC in this world is more like a villain, or the girls around him are villains. I'm not sure if such a CN novel with this kind of setting will actually work, but it's certainly a strange one.

Spoiler

The MC's sect was attacked by betrayers 10 years ago. Due to this incident, his master was plagued by "PTSD" (心魔 which I don't know what the popular TL for this is) and became more prone to distrust and violence. In this novel, the PTSD manifests itself like a second personality that wants to take over the body, and a more severe case where they just become a demon or something. Because of this issue, his teacher is hinted to distrust the original MC. Due to a misunderstanding, original MC completely lost his master's trust, and his ultimate fate was losing his life and his "foundations" ripped away from his body and given to original MC.

The senior sister became a recluse for several years and when she finally sobered up, she thought MC was lazy as he had no improvements on his cultivation. The junior sister, who lost her parents, became completely spoiled under the MC who couldn't say no.

So with the transmigration from the MC, secrets were eventually revealed and proved that the original MC was really a filial disciple who did his best for the sect. Now what's strange and surprising is the "regret". Honestly, in cultivation novels, those scheming seniors/juniors are cannon fodder for MC to trample and grow. Even if they aren't, these people are either envious of MC's talents or shallow people who appear for a few chapters and disappear.

It's rare to see true contrition, and I'll say that it's even refreshing because I think the author pulled it off well enough for me to give a nod. However, I dislike the characters. The original protagonist somehow became a third-rate villain out of nowhere. He isn't a rival, but the lowest class of cannon-fodder level who's shockingly even lower than the "do you not see mount tai arrogant young master?"

It's just a terrible selection of cast. MC and the people around him aren't entertaining. I also hate yandere characters because the meme is getting real old and stale.

Spoiler

In the first place, the reason why yanderes got so popular is the shock value, where the cute and pretty girl actually mu*dered someone with a choppa and goes MY PRECIOUS MCCCccCCCCcccCCccC ILOVEYOUIMLEAAAKINGGGG. It's the utterly uncomfortable and high surprise value that made school days and future diary memorable, not some jealousy incarnate shallow personality.

3.2 stars (-1 point for using the yandere trope for me, gave up reading). <<less
