Th beginning is just so captivating it makes u read more and more

It was the only reason why I have continued reading this novel, The character development is also one of the best I have ever seen. The interaction and the relations are also complex and well thought out

The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of tension building toward well-executed plot twist is also impressive. The first few chp make u forget that this is has regression in it.

I won't say much about charcters since all of them need to be... more>> experienced by you yourself <<less

Has a solid prologue, did a good job getting me interested in long-term plot even when I'm not thrilled about having to read yet another childhood arc of a regression story. This score is based entirely on the prologue, since there's not much main story atm.

In fact, I'll go a step further and say if this had ended at the prologue I'd have been totally satisfied with it being a short, bittersweet story. It's 16 chapters mostly of character interactions, so don't jump in hoping for thrills... I mean, this... more>> isn't One Piece, what do you expect out of two slowly dying/restrained prisoners stuck together in a small room?

Spoiler

See, the series starts off with a world where the demon king conquered everything and his enemies were killed, captured, or surrendered and integrated into the empire. MC was taken down and imprisoned for some reason (literally he doesn't know why) and is now cell buddies with the holy saintess with only a week left until their shared execution date.

We mostly cycle through their discussions with each other and their visitors' complexes—guilt, responsibility, inferiority, power, etc—that lead the world to where it is now. Then, as they start to come to an understanding, the calendar swings around. And something something regression.

[collapse]

The saint and MC have a weirdly good dynamic. MC is a chaos junkie and an obvious character reference, but he really appreciates sincerity and being genuine. The saintess is a selfless compassion/power of love addict, but isn't s*upid about it. She definitely knows more about what's going on than she let on, and it's indicated that she's been playing the long game for a while now. Also did a great job brainwashing her cellmate in just a week.

Spoiler

It's more accurate to say that the two had a good dynamic, since post-regression MC has some 500 years to wait until they're supposed to meet again. MC needs to be really careful about not messing too much with the timeline until then, because the butterfly effect could lead to her not being born at all.

[collapse]

I feel like it's going to take a while to get back to the prologue level of interesting, score will likely dip into the 3s until the meat of the plot actually starts moving again. Atm all I'm looking forward to is more interaction between these two and seeing more about what her game was, so it's up to the author to keep it interesting until then... This is the big weakness of any regression story, especially when it's a looooong time regression, I don't have an inherent reason to care about past politics, families or characters and the plot isn't always going to give me one.

TL quality... it's mostly good, I did see some of the usual (mtl?) errors and a few missing words that change what their sentence means until you hash out what it was supposed to be saying. <<less
