I was born as a collateral descendant of the Great Namgung Clan and lived my entire life as one of the clan’s warriors.

My life came to an end the year I turned forty-five, when the Demonic Cult’s rampage sparked the War Between Righteousness and Evil.

But when I opened my eyes, I found myself as the child of an unfamiliar-looking Semu?

“So, you’re begging me to let you use the training grounds again?”

“Yes. Now that I am already five years old, it will be too late if I do not start practicing the sword.”

“Why do you want to learn the sword?”

“I will become a sword master.”

“A sword… ahem. I see… So, our son wishes to become a sword master.”

“Though it might seem like a distant dream at the moment, once my body develops and I am able to control my range, I will be able to use sword aura, at the very least. Please grant me permission.”

“Will you explain to me what… range means, son?”

“It means extending the range of the sword’s attack in relation to one’s opponent as one’s arms and legs grow longer.”

“I see… It seems that our son will easily be able to use sword energy once he grows a little bigger…”

“Yes.”

Just as pine caterpillars eat pine needles and silkworms eat mulberry leaves, a martial artist must wield the sword.

Even in my new world, I resolved to master the sword and become a force of the unrestrained realm—a Grand Sword Master.

“You’re enrolled in Professor Casablanca’s liberal arts world history class, right? I heard the content is the same as last year’s.”

“Yes, that is correct…”

“I put a lot of effort into my notes, so you can just use these.”

Good looks, good lineage, and a gentle temperament.

This child, who’s impeccable in every way, keeps following me around.

Offering notes, lending study rooms, and even buying me food.

His intentions seem dubious.

Could this be a ploy to curry favour with me, the next greatest swordsman under the heavens, in anticipation of becoming the emperor?

But isn’t he acting a little too…,

…too, cute for that…?

A tale of a martial artist reincarnated into a romance fantasy world and a prince who is suspiciously meek, navigating their way through the ups and downs of academy life and gradually succumbing to first love!

Oof. I'd like to rate this higher for the potential the premise had. The concept of a murim warrior trying to navigate a romantic fantasy setting (and a BL, on top of that!) is very fresh and, with the right translation, would've been a knockout webnovel. Mikael's narration is comedic in his grandpa-esque way of speaking, which was nicely conveyed by the original translator.

However, after getting picked up by another group, I'd have to drop this unless the original translator continues their work, or the current one retranslates. Pronouns are... more>> not consistent, there's redundant words that don't make sense grammatically, Korean murim terms that aren't explained, etc. This novel did not deserve the unedited, near-incomprehensible translation it got, and you, dear reader, don't deserve to suffer through chapter after chapter of confusion.

Proceed with caution! <<less

It is basically a slice of academy life story. The main character is a warrior from the murim world (Martial arts) who died there and was reincarnated into a European medieval fantasy world. As a person who has no idea about this world he learns about his surroundings and slowly change his worldview. We readers are able to understand more than him since we actually know the tropes. The romance here is very slow but you can tell their love had started. It's a very interesting take about how the... more>> MC manages to navigate the aristocracy here with the individualistic ideals vs the holistic ideals of clans in his world. It is very enjoyable and interesting for me. I also like the fact the MC can be unreliable in narrating as well.

Edit: The translation is not very good unfortunately <<less

Long story short: Great premise, funny start, fresh idea. Previous translator was amazing and I would love to read more of it... if it weren't for how absolutely horrible DarkStar translation's website is and how equally horrible their translation is. If a translator is reading this, please pick it up from where the previous translator stopped! It's so good and I'd love to read more! I'd even pay ko-fi for it!!! I don't want to read this... rubbish... sorry...

Long story long: First things first. To both the previous translator and... more>> the story, it's a 5/5 for me because of how simple yet hilarious it is. I love how the MC is oblivious to everyone else's admiration of him. It's funny seeing the way his charisma oozes so naturally without him even noticing. True to the tags, he's an unreliable narrator, because he absolutely doesn't realize how charming he is! He's way too dense. His stoicism also makes for some hilarious scenes. So far, it's very promising! The concept is very refreshing, too.

The only reason why I removed 1 star is because... oh my god. DarkStar Translations is absolutely horrid. Let me start this off by saying that I'm not trying to be on the moral high ground. I'm just here consuming content that I like. My issue is that 1. DarkStar Translation's website has way too many ads even with a registered account and 2. THE TRANSLATION ISN'T EVEN GOOD. The previous translator was WAYYY better than this. DarkStar's translation is ok at best, Google translated 3 times on 3 different languages at worst. Absolutely unreadable. And I get that, yeah, you're trying to make money out of ads but--holy christ the amount of ads there are... I need to get this off my chest.

If a translator is reading this, I beg of you, PLEASE pick this up from where the previous translator stopped. This is just awful. It's an interesting premise ruined by an awful translation and website. <<less

The plot itself is interesting. It's just so badly translated that you cannot read it. It's clearly ai or machine translated because the translator is lazy enough to leave the prompts "please enter the text you want translated" in the middle of the chapter. I'm not against mtl, but for heaven's sake at least edit it properly!!!
