What is Martial Arts, really? A fancy display or a killing art?

Is the martial art, honed through three thousand years of cold weapon warfare and countless private duels, truly authentic or just a grand illusion?

“To stop conflict is to embody martial virtue. Strike only to the point of resolution.”

“What will you do if you are invincible?”

“Show mercy wherever mercy is due.”

Hello, this is Goblin, the translator.

This is probably one of the most, if not the most well written webnovel I have ever read—and I have read many webnovels. I read so much that I almost made a living out of it. Anyways, I didn't want to say more, but I feel like I have to. As a reader, I want more readers to read it, and enjoy it. It's more fun to read along with others, and exchange our opinions and thoughts. I will keep this as spoiler free as... more>> possible.

If you like a novel focused purely on the intricacies of martial arts, great mature writing, well thought-out plots, exciting character developments—all set in a modern time, with a hint of science fiction, then this will be perfect for you. From the first few chapters, you will feel the author's dedication to his work. The amount of in-depth knowledge and information the chapters contain on various aspects of martial arts is something extraordinary. Usually, info-heavy chapters are supposed to feel boring, but in this case–they make you feel like you've gained something, and propel you to read more.

The novel is a journey. We follow the protagonist on his path to becoming a martial artist (scientist). We experience his dilemma when he has to chose a path. His problems are real problems anyone would also face if they were in his shoes, in that situation. The people he meets throughout this journey stay relevant and have lasting effects. Most of all, the characters are not some brainless puppets. They all have agendas and behave like real people and feel real. The antagonists are not just fueled by their pride or lust. They are not some one-use marvel villains. This is one of the most attractive aspects of this novel.

I'll give you three keywords that define this novel: Martial Arts, Science, Restraint.

In summary: Batman... not in terms of plot, but characters.

Give it a chance. You won't regret it.
