It seemed good at first. Early on, it seemed like the MC had learned his lesson and decided to be a decisive character who took action. Nope. Immediately reverted back to a beta cookie cutter Japanese MC. A bit worse then normal actually. The MC is just a punching bag who goes along with the flow. The amount of s*upid crap he's put up with so far is absurd. When he could easily avoid 100% of it.

Its like this is a series of books written to intentionally try and frustrate... more>> its readers. Right off the bat he gets an OP spaceship that can do literally anything. Yet this entire series is just listening to him whine about the idiotic situations he's in, despite him not having to be in those situations at all. <<less

Entertaining and enjoyable.

I'm honest this novel have a lot and I mean a lot of bad things I can tr*sh up and complain about (isekai setting, OP MC, idiots side characters etc.) the list will be quite large but it has that something that makes me like this. As generic that this is you love it or hate it.

It will not surprise me when I see an adaptation to anime there is already a manga out there. I don't even like the genre of this novel or something near that... more>> but is just entertaining and I can count with one hand the times I laughed when reading a novel.

You could say that I'm biased and that's right. I find this enjoyable and seems to be that I'm not the only one with this kind of thoughts. <<less

While I did find some of this dialogue enjoyable to read while relaxing, the story has a tendency to drag on too long with unnecessary elements to the point of having a seemingly useless spin-off/sequel tacked on.

At first, the novel was quite eye-catching since the title differs from what it offers inside (as I notice this from the translated manga, so I didnt know the premise).

It was promising at the first part, yet became boring afterwards within the 2nd part. I was going to drop this novel until I accidently read a comment stating that the 'ending is far than over'. Thus, I tried to give it another shot.

Interestingly, it became really good reaching the 3rd volume (as my principal is to read a novel for... more>> at least 3 volumes) and with the side stories (what if series) that brings to light an indepth explanation of what really happens when playing the game while controlling the main heroine "Olivia" (more details of the story of the otome game that Leon/Marie played in their previous life).

In the end, it is really enjoyable if you dont drop it in early volumes.

Note: Starting from V4 and upwards the novel has differences between the web and light novels. Since this novel was getting licensed so the translator for V4 and V5 had to delete his work to avoid DMCA. So it will be until 2021 or above if we want to get a Volume 6 translation.

Light Novel:

Leon is the heir of one of the Houses in the 2nd game, and also was the fiancee of the destroyed House,

Webnovel:

he doesnt belong to any House, thus he is a bit cynical and harsh to the 2nd Game MC.

LN: His treatment to 2nd game MC is more soft, doesnt really loves her at first (just a crush while sexually foolin around with her), doesnt name the doggo, 1st game fiancees doesnt agree yet with a third mistress, has Oneesan and Adopted Lil bro) etc.

WN: His treatment to 2nd MC is a bit more harsh yet falls in love with her, names the doggo given to her, since he has no Oneechan and relation to the Houses, his adopted brother is the 'Biological Son' of that House, fiancee agrees with political marriage with 2nd MC, more political struggle than the more harem-based LN version, etc. <<less

TL;DR: the first volume is around three or four stars, second onwards is just one or two.

The first volume is fun, but after that the author seems to stop giving a damn, the drama and conflicts feel completely forced. MC pretty much always has a way to solve his problems but doesn't until the author decides it's time. The author's concept of a villain is someone that's really annoying and dumb, but also has the power to bother the MC.

I've read until the third volume but I've been considering dropping... more>> this since early volume two when the author incites drama between a couple characters, the MC solves it, and then the author brings the drama back regardless of it being solved. MC also acts like a little kid even though he was supposed to be an adult before reincarnating. <<less

What I want to know is... Does the author have some kind of fetish with women being the dominant ones? The rest of his novels had woman being up on top or better then the MC at the start of the novels.

Since no one has bothered to translate the webnovel that is ahead in terms of content. Hopefully V3 comes out soon.

The only thing that I find flaws with is that... Even with his knowledge of the game... He should have had a headstart. Instead of the sister.

I want to say this. Although it’s a good read. I really hate this novel. The reason? The MC. He’s inflexible, he’s arrogant, he’s an a**hole, he doesn’t have vision, he doesn’t care for others. You disagree? Okay, he starts to care for others, but it went from.5% to 1.5%. He’s an insensitive a**hole. I see all kinds of people start complaining at some point, which I’m sure is just because they finally think it’s not fun or funny anymore. I’ve always hated him. He just doesn’t care unless someone... more>> is told to make him so. I was a little upset I couldn’t read parts of the novel because the link is broken when I was still new to the novel just barely making it passed the anime, but making it to V10 I’m kind of happy for it. Good for him that he changes some things good for him his life becomes better. But, he gives 2 shits about anyone or anything. He was that way in his previous life, and obviously still is. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks and let’s anything not in his line of sight just do what it wants and to that makes everything harder for everyone around him. And it’s too late to just change. He’s garbage just like he tells everyone he is. I agree. I would have rated this a really high novel if he at least gave a little effort to care for any single person beside himself. It’s not the fault of the author, it’s the fault of the lead character 🤷🏻‍♂️ <<less

I came after reading the manga and also because I loved Evil lord of intergalactic empire (by same author). It started off good in the early volumes. But honestly the romance aspect of this series is shit. Also whoever said that having a flawed character isn't bad is saying the truth but the fact is he didn't have any character development and I'm at vol 6 already like holy sh*t it's annoying to read. I'm dropping this rn, it's a shame because I loved it in the beginning. But now... more>> the same tr*shy MC is the reason I hate it now. You can't love anything in this story. Not the world, which is intended but the MC too. <<less

The premise is kind of fun and interesting but, just like the author's other works, the characters are the main weak point the story. I guess the author wants to play into the trope of dense harem MC that are also super wimpy but always come out on top due to his luck. If that's so then the author failed spectacularly since chapter 2 of volume 1 cause the MC have the most broken power in the universe behind his back which solve all his problems trivially. Every problems hence... more>> forte is completely due to the MC in not a good way either.

The MC is an indecisive, lazy, dim witted and masochistic man that have the mental maturity of a 5 years old kid. He doesn't want to work, doesn't want to think and have the ultimate goal in life of basically f**k off to the middle of nowhere and enjoy his Japanese (emphasis nationality here cause of author's racism) life style. That's why will constantly annoy other people who doesn't have the omnipotent power that solve all his problems.

To make the matter worse, to ensure the story can continue with such a problematic MC, all other characters are made to shoulder the problem, from getting ens*aved, s*xual assaulted, mind controlled to out right killed, while getting lobotomized by the authors into these obnoxious caricatures of human. <<less

This novel should've ended after the first arc because everything from then on simply feels like filler. I'd give it a 4.0 if it simply ended there however the author continues with the story despite there being no foreshadowing. They seem to understand that this was an issue when they wrote v4, v5 to foreshadow future events but it's simply too late.

This is a recurring issue throughout the novel where the author purposely avoids world building, the audience has 0 understanding of how each nation differs and their respective cultures... more>> despite having a plot device that could simply provide that information.

It honestly isn't a worthwhile read beyond V3, the character interactions are too limited and we're stuck with constant gag characters to fill up the novel as the plot develops in various ways beyond the hands of the MC despite having complete information of everything around him. <<less

I wish I could give this novel negative stars. Prologue to volume 10. MC is human garbage; author has to force a long the plot. I think the author thinks it's funny in its juxtaposition. The real joke is the writing allowing this indecision it's like "maybe, maybe not... maybe." Except for the audience and the author who both know all problems are temporary and there is no suspense in the novel. The first 50-80 chapters were alright shortly after chapter 100 the wishy washy-ness hits extremely hard disallowing any... more>> belief that this read will be remotely interesting in plot. Interesting Story

I read this because of the anime.

At first I was skeptical and thinks this will be same with generic isekai Anime.

The MC quite badass and interesting. Like other Isekai novel, MC are OP. Plot / story is interesting, not that deep. Other characters like MC family have some story too not only as background characters.

The harem / waifus not that fast to increase. MC quite close to some Females but not all becomes his harem.

Minus points the MC are very dense to his harem. And when he flirts, not to his harem member.

until Vol 9 MC only have 3 fiancees. And he haven't make a move to any of them

the battles, and the jokes are good. The characters illustrations are well made too.

I hope the author will keep the good quality till the end

I found this story pretty captivating, and bing read it over two days. It starts out with the main character in a terrible position, but that starts changing pretty quickly. The MC is also a really interesting character compared to the usual meek do gooders that are found in Japanese LNs. He still has some annoying traits in common with them though, especially early on where he is unwilling to kill people that need to be killed. The Romance aspect of this story is also really weird, since he essentially... more>> behaves like a passive idiot and its the women who pursue him, because he views himself as not being good enough for them. The world also has some parts that are not well explained or don't make much sense. But despite that the story manages to stay interesting and its entertaining throughout. <<less

Beware, I made this review specifically to express my hatred for the MC.

This is a unique take on the genre with the male MC reincarnated into a otome game. The MC unfortunately become mob. Emphasize on the mob part, as it seem the author want to present the MC as some kind of mob char. He succeeded, he created a character that if he wasn't the MC with all kind cheat, he fit well as a mob who probably killed by the good guy.

I'm on the side of reviewer who... more>> hate the MC, because the author seem to have dilemma of whatever the MC is an MC char or a mob char, so he stick to the middle. Great author!

Other than the MC, other characters were descent as they were at least memorable. The plot was interesting, the world building is unique if the author intention is to show how bad an otome game world is. The developement is interesting.

Recommended if you can overlook the MC attitude. If you can't, than you are masocist for reading this. <<less

This one is amazing. Its just a pure fun read. The MC is rude af, but still a good person with morals (somewhat XD). The side characters are usually either fun, awesome or in some case of a certain 5 individuals simply amazing (i die of laughter from them). That said the romance is either hit or miss a lot of the time. By that I mean the author doesnt want to make a lot of progress with it after the MC gets to a certain point in his relationships.... more>> It also depends on volumes. Some focus more on story and others are more slice of life. Honestly I think the high point of this series are the slice of life volumes, cause the author doesnt excel in the story. The love intrests are all great, but when it comes to the harem aspect of the story it falls short of what it could be. For now the harem isnt that big, but you can already tell its gonna get bigger so I hoppe the author improves on that. Where this novel starts to lack is in its villains. Dont get me wrong they arent all that bad and it always feels good to see them get beat up by the MC, but it lacks suspense. There isnt really a major villain in the story and they are more so individual villains for each volume or 2. That is to say dont expect an epic story from this.

In conclusion this novel is a blast to read, but its story lacks. All the characters are great. The romance and harem lack a bit from time to time. And it lacks any suspense.

I recomend anybody who wants a fun, turn of your brain and enjoy novel to read this one. That said I also recomend you read the manga for this series since it has a very nice art style (right now it addapted the first 2 volumes of the novel). Also if you havent, you should read the other novels of this author. To be specific read evil lord. Its similar in some ways, but difrent in others.

Interesting plot but not quite good at romance if you are seeing from romance perspective. If you are seeing from story or plot perspective this is good but In my opinion starting first 3 LN is interesting because of MC and other volume from 4th It becomes Interesting because of heroine of another game. this is harem and it is a story without ending but have Climax. Worst thing about this novel is Concept of romance or heroine are same throughout the story but yeah due to otome title it... more>> is acceptable. 1) Honestly I don't like very much Heroines in first 3 volume which are main heroine and villainess. But from 4th volume, Heroine of another game is interesting and likable....

The main protagonist is denser than a neutron star, and what more annoying is that they kept references to how dense the protagonist is and how MC himself hates the dense character. This plus the fact that the MC would self-reference how many bad moves he made. This novel has redeeming qualities but you will have to deal with a incredibly dense protagonist.

Manga is what got me to start reading the Light Novel. Read it from the beginning and I would say the story is interesting.

Really though, I am reading this for the Harem and how he goes about achieving this. Though I am really annoyed by the usual Dense character the MC is.

Flow of story is good enough that when you go to the next chapter, you can expect to continue off. Sometimes.

MC is always on the path to a peaceful life but because he gets tossed in some "reasons" he just does whatever he does like any other MC would of this genre. He is pretty OP because of his early choices in the story and everything is a smooth ride. He dominates most of the time and author will add some obstacles or transition pov's to keep the readers attention. This annoyed me the most but it was bearable.

The girls have more balls than the main character. Although he is badass when he *Does take responsibility, it doesnt amount to much and has to be forced literally because he likes events revolving him instead when it comes to *Love.

The other support characters are nice to read once in awhile due to the author giving character development to these characters. Honestly when the author transitions to them for comic relief, I just skip through them because they're just fillers or in the end comic relief.

The main character self reflects allot and doubts himself constantly when it comes to girls and it can get repetitive and annoying. As do most other MC of other stories but meh In the end Im still reading this.

The writing of the story is a bit difficult to grasp without having read the manga to fill behind the scenes at the beginning. There after reading and the flow of the story became smooth sailing from the translation. Good Ups to the translation team and author for starting to add more details later in the story.

Dialogues are constant and allot of actions are omitted out making the reader have to imagine this. Such as when the MC is yelling for his flying robot during comical scenes. If you're not used to Japanese manga/stories it is difficult to imagine these.

I find myself skimming through allot of the support character developments due to the fact that I was used to these character tropes but there are nothing against them. They're still comic relief but as I have typed earlier. Allot of the story is dialogue with actions omitted out. So you will get constant bickering one after another.

the romance is not fleshed out at all. This is why you can say that the protag is hectare.

However, the protag is a badass during action scenes and some of the characters are well developed (See short stories). Story is decent enough to be readable.
