Omega Lu Zhao, known as the “Eagle of the Emperor” in military circles, married Bai Li, a retired Alpha who lost a leg.

Overnight, the Imperial Forum erupted in controversy. Countless omega cried for their idol marrying the wasteful son, and numerous Alphas gnashed their teeth in jealousy over Bai Li marrying a formidable military figure.

This marriage was no longer a bouquet of flowers in a cow dung fields, but flowers stuck on concrete – lacking not only aesthetics but also the nourishment provided by cow dung. On the wedding day, Bai Li received the title of “Empire’s Concrete.”

Fortunately, Bai Li must be the most handsome piece of concrete.

Many years later, Bai Li attended Lu Zhao’s celebration party as a family member.

Reporter: “Mr. Bai, what do you think of others saying that you’re living off your partner?”

Bai Li: “Living off someone is really delicious.”

Reporter: “Mr. Bai, how do you respond to criticism that you allow your Omega partner to work outside and even participate in mecha battles?”

Bai Li: “Living off someone is really delicious.”

Reporter: “… Mr. Bai, do you have any dignity as an Alpha?”

Bai Li: “You people, you’re just upset because you can’t enjoy living off someone like me.”

Reporter: “Mr. Lu, what do you think of others saying that you are too strong and not docile?”

Lu Zhao: “I can fight, can’t help it.”

Reporter: “Mr. Lu, how do you respond to recent accusations from the outside world about you being too prominent?”

Lu Zhao: “i can fight, can’t help it.”

Reporter: “You can do this too?”

Lu Zhao: “Well, he didn’t want to eat, but I insisted he eat.”

The carefree and smooth-talking alpha (Bai Li) x the capable and composed omega (Lu Zhao) who can fight and be assertive

Married before falling in love. Warm daily life.

😭😭 Tears oh my god, I didn't expect to get free therapy from this hahaha, absolutely worth the read. It's so good, both of the leads are such green flags, they deserve each other so much. The whole time I was reading, it really made me crave chocolate damn hahaha, making me yearn too much rn.

Absolutely recommend, already adding it to my list of comfort novels <3

I don't usually write reviews, but this is so far THE BEST omegaverse story I've ever read.

The characters are fleshed out and the relationship between the MC & ML is extremely healthy but still face very realistic and compelling issues that make sense for their characters.

The interpersonal relationships, dynamics and interactions between the characters (not just the romantic aspect) are beatifully written.

Please give it a shot, the novel description does not do it justice. I went in to just pass time and ended up finding a new favorite.

I requested this novel, and I'm so so happy it got picked up! My request summary was:

I MTLed it, and I loved it so much, I wanted to share it with more people. It has a great couple, with a beautiful, genuine loving and respecting relationship. More than that, what I loved about this story is how both of them are also genuinely nice as people too, with great relationships, and strong, diverse, side characters who are all very developed in their own rights too.

The novels views on life and... more>> fate and fighting what fate has assigned for you even when it seems like a hopeless effort are also very thought provoking and heart warming. I am not good at descriptions, so I am failing to make this story half as interesting as it was. It is not a terribly long novel, but it gripped me from the first chapter to the last, and at no point was I disappointed or bored or otherwise put off. Instead, every chapter flowed naturally from the last, and I remained eager to find out what happened next.

To be perfectly honest, it is not an earth-shatteringly new plot - a tried and true classic of the canon fodder fighting hopelessly against fate - but never, not once, does it feel stale or overdone. The beauty of this novel is not in the plot (although that is not at all lacking) but in the characters, and the character development, in the philosophies and discussions and feelings that arise from this story.

This novel conveys a strong feeling of hope: people are ants, the novel explains, and rarely will one man's efforts amount to much. It is easy to feel hopeless because of that, but that is not right. One man might not do much, but he might pave the path for the next, who will pave it for the next, and one day, the deluge of ants bumping against the tree might yet knock it down. So don't despair, don't feel like your contribution is too little, or useless and pointless - every little bit counts. Your trying, your hoping, your wishing may yet bear fruit one day. <<less

What makes this story different from other ABO interstellar books is the characters. They all shine through. Especially the MC, Bai Li, he is a very human character with a well developed character development - he was afraid, weak, timid, hopeful, in pain, angry, strong and finally victorious. He laughed, shouted and cried.

In contrast, the ML seems a bit more cliche, the strong, silent type - but from their first interaction, he was tit-for-tat with the MC, and I like those moments when he tries his absolute best to just... more>> do something, anything to show MC that he cares.

Other supporting casts like Bai Ying, Si Tu, Situ's omega brother, the Zou omega and others were really well developed too.

I liked that Bai Li tried so hard to change the status quo of people in their society. Unlike other stories where it begins and ends with society not changing at all, Bai Li and the supporting cast really tried hard to shake the leaves off the tree. <<less

Are you debating on reading this? Fool, go read it right now! What are you waiting for?!

i will admit I was never interested in the omegaverse genre since most of the time it pushes heteronormativity towards the gay pairing, that just put me off from the genre.

However this novel has been an eyeopener, never will I ever again exclude omegaverse from my tags, this sh*t was so good it made INCLUDE

i never felt like lu zhao was pushed to be the "wife" and Bai li to be the "husband" I... more>> just thought. "Wow, these two people truly love eachother." Lu zhao is strong, the novel touches up on how the people of interstellar feel like he needs to "be a good housewife, stay at home and birth children" and addressed it so well I almost couldn't believe my eyes. Hes strong, hes smart, and he is the epitome of f*cking badass!

lu zhao and Bai li are incredibly strong people, hardened and bruised from others vicious venom and stone cold claws.

Lu zhao was NOT! Shown as this person who foolishly put off his love for mecha for his love of another person, hes not just his secondary gender!!! Hes his own person!! He is so strong not just in power but in will, he will never bow to those that do not deserve it, he will never bend his knee for that who hold malice for him and his beloved.

for Bai li, it was very sad seeing him try again and again to go against the plot that doomed him since the beginning. Ive had no lack in reading about characters that go against their world just to fight to see another day, but with Bai li it felt all the more real because, well, we see the plot catch up to him, we see how every time he even has an inkling of the plot (Of the original story) progress faster and faster he is genuinely terrified. Hidden beneath his carefree and playful personality is a half broken vace, and the part that isnt broken was glued back together by him, his own efforts going into stitching himself up bit by bit.

and after all that, we still see him be happy, or atleast pretend to be. Not in a fake smile kind of way. But in a way that you know he is trying to see the best in everything, not be bothered by anyone, not be pushed down and kicked without remorse.

often in this stories I see the characters disability be a plot device for whatever cliché dog blood plot they want. Here? Its to make you FEEL how helpless he is, and to just make you see how incredibly strong he is.

im always so disheartened when I see his monologues, himself trying to keep a distance from his partner because he knows he cant pry to deep, even though he wants to tear himself apart from the inside out and let his partner know how he feels, the story captures his grief all to well.

the romance is budding and sweet and bitter but after all that you realize the bitterness was not all that bad, because after all that bitterness was just in the background, to make you remember that they are flawed, they arent perfect, and I think that makes them just the more loveable.

"you deserve the world"

"then be my world."

Not a quote, rest easy and go read the story! <<less

Sometimes the best stories come with the crappiest summaries, honestly; this has to said.

A completely unexpected, very beautiful story. For once, the omegaverse and the mecha are used as plot devices rather than being the focus, and together frame a spectacular story about persistence, trust, belief and will power.

Starting from the initial impression of yet another transmigrator into a cannon fodder in a mecha universe, fighting against the golden-fingered stallion protagonist, the author quickly shows the main character to be a person of indomitable will and great self restraint, but... more>> also highly sensitive and fragile; passionable about his beliefs but aware of his own relative insignificance in the large universe; generous, charming, and possessing a strong moral sense that he retains even in his worst times.

His complimentary ML is a person who has a set goal and lives to fulfil it regardless of his image in the eyes of others. In each other the two find a safe harbor, a home, an understanding of one's deepest fears and greatest passions. The respect, trust, and gentleness displayed between the two makes this one of the best pairings I've ever observed in BL. There is no possessiveness, no obsession, no surrender or excuses made due to biology, which all are so prevalent in omegaverse stories. In one of the most touching personal moments,

Spoiler

when the omega ML has finally requested to be permanently marked, it is the alpha MC that says: I surrender to you.

[collapse]

There are many things to praise about this story -- its stable pacing, the fantastic secondary characters, the reasonable and interesting treatment of the omegaverse tropes and their effects on the society, the focus on a realistic timescale and process of mecha research and development rather than random fights. <<less

I went into this expecting another generic ABO arranged marriage, and got hit with the most beautiful romance story I've ever read. It literally made me cry multiple times just from how incredible the writing was. My one line review for this is just to read it, don't even look at the tags or read any other reviews, just start reading, you definitely won't be disappointed!!! The experience I had going into this blind made it that much more special.

The two main characters in this story are so wonderfully layered... more>> and three dimensional, and their relationship with one another had me kicking my feet and grinning at times before sending me into tears the next. They have such unbelievable chemistry with each other, and their relationship felt so natural and realistic. Their (very few) arguments were all so well depicted, and I loved seeing how they worked together and opened up to each other in order to resolve any misunderstandings or conflicts.

The way they both indulge each other and unconditionally support each other is so beautiful, and I feel they truly are the definition of what it means to love someone. While they do have a good level of inherent understanding, they also make sure to just be present for each other in tough moments. Their ways of expressing love for each other really make me cry. They also both have really cute nicknames for each other!! Bai Li calls Lu Zhao "Xianhua", or "fresh flowers" in English, and Lu Zhao often calls Bai Li "Li-Li" (something that Bai Li also refers to himself as when he's acting cute).

The plot itself gets quite philosophical, and there's a lot of discussion about the meaning of life and our place in the universe. I found the discussions between characters really engaging, and the overall message of this work quite inspiring.

The last half of the novel did drag a bit for me, as the main couple had already gotten together and the pacing really slowed down. While I wouldn't necessarily label this a slice of life, the characters did spend a lot of time just talking and meandering around, not really accomplishing too much as they went about their daily lives. I didn't really mind it too much as I enjoyed the main characters' personalities and their relationship a lot, but it did take me longer to finish as I wasn't gripped by the plot enough to stay entirely focused. I especially really didn't care for the arc with:
Spoiler

the mecha battle competition, as it was way too long and could have easily been condensed without losing much if any of the plot, especially chapters 76-86. The author almost did too good of a job of showing and not telling, making for a really long and drawn out narrative; at some points I just thought to myself, really what is the point of this scene except to add more words to the story.

[collapse]

Some of the villains in this novel are also admittedly a bit one dimensional, especially the father, and are kind of just evil for the sake of it, without very well developed backstories to explain their behavior. The one exception being:
Spoiler

The original protagonist character- it was interesting to see him slowly descend into depravity as the original novel plot unraveled, and his darkening mental state was very vividly described as he lost his position as the center of the universe. Definitely a unique concept to have him somewhat understanding what he could have had and yet being unable to attain it.

[collapse]

My last nitpick is a minor plot hole:
Spoiler

Bai Li's past life is never explained, nor the backstory behind his transmigration- I really was waiting the entire novel for some kind of explanation, but there's nothing beyond him knowing the book plot somehow. It does feel like a missed opportunity, as we never see him dealing with the emotions of having gone through transmigration and leaving behind his past world.

[collapse]

Even with these points though, this still is a five star read for me, especially the first 70 chapters or so! It's a beautifully written love story and the main couple is one of my favorites of all time. I saved so many lines that they spoke to one another, and I cried many times just from how deeply I could feel their unconditional love for one another. The author has a beautiful way with words, and it was such a joy to experience their story. <<less

I'm relieved I trusted the high rating. This is one of the best BL romances I've ever read.

Just when you think you've read every good novel out there, you'd be surprised that there are even better novels you haven't yet discovered. This novel is just like that. Just like other reviewers said, what sets this novel apart is its characters; they felt so alive. The supporting characters shine in their own right, they don't just exist there for MC and ML's relationship or face slapping. They exist.

While the plot includes—transmigration,... more>> ABO, cannon fodder defying fate, and a mecha universe—it never feels overdone or stacked.

The MC and ML's relationship is simply the beating heart of the story avoiding the stereotypical overbearing possessiveness, and obsessiveness often seen in BL stories in general. It could only be described as cute and endearing as the two lift, support, compliment, and help each other grow, having one another's best interests in mind. If I have to complain about something, then I have to complain about the fact I never knew MC and ML's ages or mental power levels.

In any case, go read it now. 👌😊 <<less

This work is awesome, I love it!

Despite omegaverse setting, there is NO typical AO tropes like MPreg or forced-accidental marking between main couple.

Heroes are determined and supportive to each other.

I got upset when I didn't see the next button. I don't tend to read novels that aren't fully translated, but this one really drew me in. I've read through plenty of ABO novels, and this one so far is my absolute favorite by a long shot. It's definitely a breath of fresh air for me.

I love the MC and ML. Their dynamic and chemistry with each other makes me incredibly giddy but also squeezes my heart at the same time. Their characterization is well fleshed out, making them feel... more>> much more closer to home.

But seriously, every time Bai Li and Lu Zhao laughed together, I felt my heart growing lighter.

The plot itself is also good. The pacing feels just right, and I appreciate how the novel delves into the issues within this world and the setting in general. Minor spoiler.
Spoiler

when Bai Li explained that, during a mission, he witnessed a mind broken, ab*sed omega crawling towards their dead alpha because they had become dependent on their pheromones, I actually felt a little sick. The imagery makes my skin crawl.

Overall, highly recommend, and I can't wait for more chapters. This novel deserves way more attention. <<less

This novel was an absolute delight to read, seamlessly blending a compelling story with well-developed characters.

Both ML and MC were exceptionally well-crafted, each bringing their own charm, depth, and personality to the narrative. Their relationship was the heart of the story, and their dynamic was both engaging and emotionally fulfilling. Whether through playful banter, heartfelt confessions, or quiet moments of understanding, their bond felt natural and deeply immersive, drawing the reader in effortlessly.

The plot itself was equally compelling, maintaining a steady pace with just the right mix of tension, emotional... more>> depth, and well-placed twists. It never felt dragged out or rushed, keeping me invested in every chapter. The storytelling was smooth, with an engaging progression that made it impossible to put down.

The side characters were also well balanced, adding warmth and humour to the plot rather than just existing in the background.

Overall, this novel was absolutely worth reading. <<less

I love this story more than I love myself tbh. The chemistry is soo well done and soo is our dear Bai li's internal conflicts. This is a story of your typical cannon fodder reincarnation but better. It's about Bai li's fight against fate, learning how to love himself and how he deserves love with the help of his partner Lu Zhao. A powerful and attractive omega he thinks is too good for him.

What I love about Bai li is that he's soo... human. I feel for him soo damn... more>> much, I'm soo glad he found happiness. Our male lead... he's a lot more clichéd but I don't mind cuz he's my typa cliché and thier banter gives me life, hes still intresting and very likeable (and pretty damn good example of how cliches can be used to make ur story intresting, not boring. The whole novel is tbh).

That and he's such a patient and supportive lover, they both are. Thier relationship is very mature, it actually feels like two adults in a relationship. They're made for eachother and I'm soo damn happy they found eachother. One of the greatest omegaverse out there. <<less

I fell in love with this novel and this couple. Amazing relationships, overcoming psychological problems and fighting fate. It's really very difficult when you can't influence the plot in any way and it always comes back and hits you over the head. There is a taste of depression and how the blackness gives way to dawn. There is an understanding and discovery of oneself and the world. There are relationships that make you want to cry: both from happiness and from a veil of melancholy.

I sincerely believe that the novel... more>> is a must read. <<less

I have a preference for reading novels with shou main character, however I have no regrets reading this.

This novel is not just for entertainment, but it also teach us life lesson. There are many times where I cried while reading this because it resonate with me, the war and mecha is not it's main focus, but the protagonist steps to fight the destiny written in the book and the MC and ML character development is amazing. I can feel their sadness, fear, anger, anxiety, contentment, and happiness through what the... more>> author has written.

I'm sorry if my review is not quite helpful but I want to share my experience and thoughts while reading this novel. I took the liberty to write this because I want more people to know and read this masterpiece.

This novel is about moving forward against seemingly insurmountable odds, facing insecurities, making difficult choices, and taking small steps for humanity along the way even if these accomplishments will one day inevitably decay in time. Bai Li has been forced to take up a life that wasn’t supposed to be his, face a retribution he doesn’t deserve, and suffer repeated nightmares of ‘his’ upcoming future. He tries to subvert his fate only to still face an unavoidable disability. He comes to care for his relatives only to watch them die... more>> or live in suffering.

We start the story in a place in Bai Li’s life where he can’t afford to lose any more than he already has, yet he still faces the world with a kind of sarcastic glee. The title clearly indicates Bai Li’s disability, but he has already made efforts to live normally (at least he appears to walk and move normally to bystanders). However, this is not enough for Bai Li. He is told he will never operate a mecha again, but he never settles for this answer. Sure the main plot is supposed to be about conflict with his estranged brother of same parents and a different surname, but the underlying story never deviates from this protagonist’s path of achieving his dreams. The original plot is an obstacle he (and his partner) must overcome. He has lived with that Axe hanging over his head since he was reborn into the interstellar world in his childhood, but he also has things he wants to achieve on top of those things he MUST achieve.

There are many clichés still, but this is overall one of the most inspiring stories in the ABO Interstellar genre. <<less

One of the few ABO that I find interesting. A gem of a novel, unlike a slice of life where an A lived off from his O partner like the description. Sun and moon dynamic, 'I dont deserve you and you deserved the world' type of couple, and with characters with rooted flaws. I dont know how many times I cried reading Bai Li's monolouge. Squealing of their growing romance. Love after marriage and first time being in loved.

Glad to read this gem of a novel, but sad to know... more>> I cant find another like these. <<less

To be honest, I started reading this novel with normal expectations. I didn't expect much, but I was very surprised by the quality of this work. The fact that this author is unknown and only has this novel translated still amazes me. The summary makes the novel seem light, but it isn't.

It's incredible how it's one of the few novels that takes the time to explore the characters' emotions, their reason for being, their weaknesses. They feel human and not just another character in a novel. They are so well-made... more>> that it seems unreal.

Maybe it's because I read so many novels that I don't cry in many places where I should cry, but in a specific chapter

i realized that this is what the author was building with all the chapters they gave us so we could get to know the mind of the protagonist. And how well they did it!

I think the best thing about this novel, beyond the plot, which is excellent, is the construction of the characters (it possibly surpasses many of the great danmei novels) and the green flag relationship between the protagonists.

I love that once the two of them get together, they're not shy about their love, and how their love grows and surpasses itself over time. Their communication is top-tier, and they both love each other so much that they make me believe in love. <<less

When I was first reading this, I was enraptured by its sweet storytelling and the two leads' super healthy relationship.

It was something that really warmed your innards, but not something that would make me cry. I just felt like I was floating on the beach that's been warmed by the afternoon sun.

But then I was shot 77 times.

This is a story about laying down the foundation needed to hold up the next generation. This is a story about how kindness is rewarded to those who do everything they can to... more>> give back to the world. This is a story about why fighting for your goals matters—not just for small self, but for everyone who will walk behind you and follow the footsteps that you didn't even know you left behind.

It is all those things that caused me to be so dehydrated that I'm dizzy now. Thank DUCK I'm not reading this on a school day. Crying every chapter near the end is not for the weak.

I am a mess. There is so much love in this story that I've become a mess. Please read this. I beg. All the other reviews are much better. Leave me alone to cry some more oh my gosh <<less
