An S-Class Esper Ryu Hoyeon. No matter what anyone says, he was (probably) the strongest and (definitely) the most special Esper in the world. Though he was born with Esper abilities, it was somewhat unfortunate that he hadn’t found a compatible Guide with matching compatibility and rank even after turning twenty. At this rate, he might die soon.

When he was half ready to give up, a Guide five years younger than him suddenly appears before him. As a media addict who had been confined to the Center all his life, reading nothing but dramas and novels, he had a tingling sensation.

“I look forward to working with you. No, let me speak informally since I’m older.”

“Yes, I look forward to working with you too…”

The type who lived freely outside the Center until adulthood thinking they were ordinary people, only to end up becoming dedicated Guides to S-rank Espers who were struggling without compatible Guides. No need for further explanation. It’s 100 percent certain.

“Then… can I call you h-hyung?”

This is definitely a character with ‘baby bottom’ qualities.

A little description based off of the first 5 chapters, because the official synopsis doesn't do the story justice:

The MC is an Esper, the ML is a Guide. The long and short is that they both defy the usual cliches found in BL stories, being purposefully written to defy stereotypical portrayals of characters in Guideverse stories and BL/Romance stories in general. That the MC acts abnormally compared to most protagonists, Esper characters, or viewpoint characters in a BL (either bottom or top), is an understatement. While the ML's characterization is... more>> only just starting to be established as of ch. 5, he's already shown to be a atypical for a love interest as well. Hilarity (and awkwardness) ensues.

For reasons explained in-story, all the MC's "Social Interaction: How-To" lessons came from watching movies/anime or reading webnovels and such. MC proceeds to be the most confidently awkward character you can imagine. This is most firmly established immediately when he and the ML meet each other for the first time at the end of chapter 2. This is funnier if you read it without knowing what's coming, and since it's only chapter 2 I suggest going ahead and reading it, but for people who really need to know:

Spoiler

Before anything else, even introducing himself or sharing his name, the MC warns the ML that he can't get it up and therefore can't top. So they'll have to try having s*x with the ML topping, if that's alright with him? And he says this in front of the people who arranged their official introduction. Why the MC thinks this is important to do, why he assumes that they'll have a s*xual relationship in the first place when no one else says anything to imply that has to be the case, and why he assumes that the ML wouldn't want to be the one topping and needs to be warned that he might have to, is explained before this happens. And while the logic is sound, the source of the MC's reasoning is s*upid and his execution even s*upider. Somehow manages to avoid being too cringey for me and falls right into the "I actually laughed out loud reading this" category.

[collapse]

I've already given it a 5/5 because of its promising introduction, how its written to purposefully dodge cliches while leaning on the 4th wall without being to cheesy, and also for being a story that I genuinely find funny so far. I may or may not update this later after reading more of the story. <<less
