This Lord Can’t Have Children

(Silent and compassionate monk gong × Arrogant and violent demon sect leader shou)

The emergence of the Earth Vein shakes the martial world, and the balance of power shifts! As the news spreads, the major sects rush out, willing to pay any price to seize the treasure and dominate the martial realm. Thus begins a conspiracy that will overturn the martial world.

A silent, kind-hearted monk from the Shaolin Temple crosses paths with a ruthless, cold-blooded demon sect leader—and from their very first meeting, sparks fly in the worst way!

Why is it that every time he encounters this man, he ends up breaking the precepts of the Buddhist scriptures? In the end, this humble monk somehow becomes the father of the child in that man’s belly?! And that man—he doesn’t even spare his own flesh and blood?

Amitabha… since that child is mine, I cannot allow him to die at your hands. Benefactor Su… please, not in front of the child… don’t—

“Shut up, you damn monk! Tell that little brat to get out of the way, or I’ll kill him too!”

He’s clearly a cruel, sharp-tongued, heartless demon lord, yet he just can’t deal with the meddling of this nosy monk…

He’s the fearsome, domineering leader of the demon sect, and yet he ends up pregnant and giving birth like a woman…

He’s a selfish, sensitive, irritable, and cunning villain, yet he secretly runs off whenever he sees the monk suffering…

Note: Main gong × one shou (1v1), MPreg, slow-burn romance, no angst, slightly rough writing—please add to your collections and leave comments~ gentle critiques only~ mwa!

Ik there are a lot of much better novels out there when it comes to writing but I'll still rate it 5 stars because I really love it. It's enjoyable to read and I love the relationship of the couple. It's really entertaining and the plot is okay. The only problem I see is that the phasing is so fast and the ending is rushed. Also I hope the author wrote more scenes with the side characters and the villain. There are some supposedly very sad scenes that I didn't... more>> really feel sad because I wasn't attached to those characters. They just really focused on the main couple, not that it's a bad thing because they're the main characters but I want to know or see more of the side characters and villain. I also wish it was a bit longer. I also think that it's the author's first story, and for a first story, it's not so bad. <<less

I liked that this story was a slow-burn with the monk and the demonic cult leader disliking and being distrustful of each other at first. It did seem like the monk was mostly drawn to the demonic leader's good looks. I also thought it was strange that the main internal struggle for the monk was his compassion for the Shaolin master who took him in versus his desire for the demonic leader instead of a more moral internal struggle. The monk was convinced to eat meat and then was like... more>> f*ck it, I guess I'll also condone my wife's mu*derous tendencies without any sort of moral struggle on his part lol Once they got together they were cute together and I appreciated all the moments of jealousy on both of their parts. The plot was just conveniently wrapped up in one chapter that info dumped the answer but overall, I enjoyed it.

Summary: Information about a powerful treasure emerges and various sects begin to look for it. A monk representing the Shaolin monks and the demonic sect leader both become involved in the search. The demonic leader is also searching for an antidote for a pill he was tricked into taking that drains his energy and allows him to give birth. The monk (gong) and demonic leader (shou) have a romantic encounter and they find out he's pregnant. The monk feels guilty as the baby daddy and decides to care for him and obey all his unreasonable requests. Love ensues. <<less

Where to start? Well firstly, this novel has a complete translation under the name "This Venerable One Will Not Have Children" on the site {app. box. com} I read the novel there only. The translator has posted about this novel's translation on reddit and that's how I came to know about and well yeah. I told this in case anyone wants to read and is searching for good understandable translation!

Ok now let's talk about the novel, so tbh it actually has a total of 3 extras 😂. The... more>> first extra starts in the end of ch 103 and well idk why the author didn't separate it and just names the other 2 extras as 1 and 2.

Honestly my main motivation for starting this novel were firstly, the mpreg tag and secondly, the demon lord × monk pairing! The plot was interesting and kept me engaged.

Tho if we talk about the overall writing, was it the best? No. But it wasn't the worst either! If I have to choose a word, it's average and modest. But the story makes up for it.

It was very fun and interesting in the start tho I would admit that in the end it's quite rushed and some explanations don't really make sense. And btw this whole story is fast paced! But towards the end specially so.

This is a light and easy read even tho it has martial arts and has the mystery of di mang artifact it's still not as serious as other wuxia/mystery novels that you might have read. The plot is intriguing tho still has it's fault.

Now finally, one thing I'm quite unsatisfied and baffled with is the last extra and it's ending. I feel this novel might not be complete yet, as the extra ended rather abruptly. But when I searched around (even checked the official site) it says completed everywhere? And like if the novel was not complete, surely the translator would have said something but as they didn't...I'm afraid this is it 😭 which brings me back to my dissatisfaction about how it ended so ABRUPTLY! Like hello?! They were discussing the wedding and the second child and su ran said they'll talk about it afterwards, they they went to sleep and that's f*cking it!? Like wtf. Even tho the plot was wrapped up in the main story, tehre were still some domestic things happening and I was expecting to see them all! 😭

I wanted to see the MC and ML wedding, see their 2 baby, witness more moments with roudan'er 🥹

So yeah that's what I'm so upset about. Aside from this I didn't have any other complaints with the text except that I came for the baby but the moments with the baby were sooooo less! 😭 Like especially after the birth, I was expecting more cutesy baby and family moments together and even wanted them to take the baby along on the journey towards the di mang, which ik would have been a bad decision and not very ideal 😂 but still..

The point being, I wanted to see the baby more and wanted more awwww moments, which I unfortunately didn't get 😩

But anywho, aside from these 2 unsatisfactory points, evrything else was pretty good and enjoyable. All in all, I enjoyed this journey and am glad I read this novel!

I reccomend everyone to give it a try! 💖 The twist in the end about the Abbott was pretty surprising and good and also the shou is sooo cool and Powerful! The gong has to be careful around him 😂. He's our Power Bottom who can even beat up the top 💪🏻 🤣

So yeah, give it a read! <<less

Oh- I remember finding the MTL version on Reddit, and I ended up reading it. Honestly, I really liked the whole idea of a monk being a daddy, even though it felt a little uncomfortable at times, lmao. I’m not even a Buddhist, and I don’t know much about Buddhism, but my love for Mpreg definitely triumphed.

I still like the concept behind the novel, but I feel like the execution was pretty weak, it’s obvious when you read it. Some of the arcs felt unnecessary, the pacing was all over... more>> the place, and the plot moved way too fast sometimes, which made the ending convulted. While the sequence of events had potential, some didn’t align well with the overall story.

Apparently the author was in college during the writing process and went on hiatus several times, which might explain a lot. I think it was serialized in 2021 and completed in 2023.

Still, I enjoyed it—it was a fun, different read. The dynamic between the two main characters was really great. I personally love a more assertive shou, and this story gave me that <<less

Like others have mentioned, this novel has been completed and can be found on platforms such as Reddit, Twitter, and Carrd. Overall, I found the story short, sweet, and engaging, with a compelling plotline.

The story follows Su Ran, a Demonic Cult Leader, who becomes pregnant by the monk Ji Chun—a man just beginning to experience the world outside his temple. Adding to the intrigue is the Di Mang, a mystical artifact that grants immense power, which Su Ran naturally seeks to obtain.

While I enjoyed the novel, I did notice that... more>> the your translation omitted many of the original honorifics (e.g., *Shixiong for Senior Brother, *Shidi for Junior Brother, *Shifu for Master). Since this is an MTL, I understand some nuances may be lost, but stripping away these terms does take away from the authenticity of the setting. The first translator of this story clearly took care to preserve cultural elements, such as keeping Di Mang instead of translating it as Earth Vein—small details like these make a big difference in immersion.

Despite this, the novel remains an entertaining read with an interesting premise. If future translations could retain more of the original honorifics and terminology, it would greatly enhance the experience for readers who appreciate the depth of xianxia/wuxia culture. <<less
