The washed-up magician Zong Jiu transmigrated into a horror, infinite flow novel about a survival show, taking the place of the cannon fodder who died tragically in the first evaluation round. This show was very interesting. Out of the tens of thousands of people, only a hundred people could survive, and the c-position (strongest contender) could even get a universal wish ticket.

If it were someone else, they’d probably be scared to death.

No one expected that Zong Jiu was not only unafraid, but also caused a sensational stir, shamelessly showing off his tricks the whole way.

Once his tricks stopped, and his life could be considered safe and sound, he ended up in a rivalry with the novel’s big villain.

Today you try to get at me, tomorrow I’ll get you back, back and forth, it’s pretty fun, heh.

As a result, though it was just playing around, one time they got carried away and really did end up sleeping together. Watching the nemesis who was pressing him to the ground, Zong Jiu lazily lifted his gaze. “If you want to kill me then kill me, don’t speak nonsense.” Even when at a disadvantage, he showed no trace of fear, and actually continued to provoke him.

That person used his ice-cold finger to trace his ear, and the action heading toward the aorta suddenly stopped.

“What a pity. I’ve changed my mind.”

He was once very willing to personally give Zong Jiu death. Every day, he used to regret not gouging out his flesh, personally snapping his neck. But after this person fell into his hands, another, more urgent desire grew like weeds.

Compared to winning or losing, he would rather see him crying and panting, with eyes red, begging for mercy.

This infinite flow novel is just right for my taste.

It has a good amount of instances that don’t feel repetitive at all. The instances weren’t described in a detailed way where you try to guess the plot through foreshadowing, so unfortunately you couldn’t rlly let your brain become invested. However the main advantage of this story the dynamic of the main characters.

I love a story filled with tension and passion between the MC and ml. This is a well written enemies to lovers book which rlly satisfies my criteria.

I love... more>> the way they both feel so indifferent to everything besides the other. The way they slowly begin to let the other in.
Spoiler

I love how the MC just lets the devil play with his hair and lets him approach as if it’s only natural. How the devil despite wanting to be an enemy always got the MCs back.

I absolutely adore the judgment instance‘ little devil being do attached to zhong jiu. That was such a sweet hint to the love of the devil to our MC. I love how at that time they portrayed his feelings in a rather subconscious way. Like it’s just instinctive. It was so sweet that throughout the rest of the novel he still kept the rabbit plush.

[collapse]

The way the devil got more and more devoted got to me.
Spoiler

When he stayed for a year in the last battle and gave up his life for his love to decide. He didn’t even know if the magician loved him that much. The way he called MC after they slept together. I just love how sweet he became especially as someone who is so cruel to others.

[collapse]

I enjoy characters that don’t hold back and show that they are confident for a reason. Another thing I like was the depiction of their appearances. I could kind of imagine how they looked like and I always prefer pretty characters which was perfect.

plotwise this novel was pretty good but there were some small things I would have liked to change.

Spoiler

I think the devil is a bit too strong. The MC never reached his level and I like a balanced fight more in this context.

All bed scenes were kinda weirdly written like it has gone through censorship but kinda didn’t? It just disrupted the flow a bit.

I don’t quite understand why the MC with his personality is so incredibly invested in magic. He clearly wants something more thrilling. The novel depicts still depicted him as emotionless towards the end is kinda wrong. He did begin to care about his people. And his transmigration never got explained so it could’ve been left out.

[collapse]

All in all there are some slight improvements I wouldve liked but the passionate nature and the tense development of the main couple are just so enjoyable to read. I would still give this 5 stars. I just love two crazy characters together. Who doesn’t love a power couple? <<less

The perfect balance between instances and romance. Rather than shoving the romance into the last 20 chapters, Thriller Trainee does a really good job of building the relationship throughout the story. We get to see a competitive relationship bloom into something thrilling and beautiful. I've never seen a more drastic switch in affection between characters. 100% check this out if you want an enemies to--still enemies but now we flirt with eachother--lovers romance.

It also had the best instance that I have ever read in an unlimited flow novel! The Circus... more>> instance was perfect. I'm a huge fan of Mansions of Madness + the concept was disturbing and thought provoking. The rest of the instances were also pretty good, but don't expect anything horror/scary. <<less

I had huge expectations for this novel, unfortunately I have mixed feelings.

Let's start with the fact that this horror is not scary. Unfortunately, the author does not know how to create a climate of horror, so he went more towards gore than fear. It's a pity, because I really expected that reading it at night, I would be at least a little scared. Unfortunately, I was not at all. No chills or anxiety. Absolutely no comparison to "Welcome to the Nightmare Live", which really paralyzed me.

The ideas for UF themselves... more>> were decent (maybe apart from the circus, which bored me a lot) and carried out quite decently, but there was no Wow effect. Unfortunately, I did not feel that MC put effort into overcoming obstacles. He owes most of it to luck (by the way, in the novel the author constantly emphasizes that luck is also a skill... it's just a pity that this is lazy writing - something happens because the author wants MC to survive and that's it). The power disparity between MC and ML is also visible to the naked eye and is downright embarrassing, and yet the author wants to convince us that these are great enemies who are equal - a good joke.

Despite this, I think the novel wasn't bad. I managed to finish it, which is already a success. I'll say this: If you expect to be scared - this is not the novel for you, but if you're looking for a relatively well-written book, you can try it. <<less

The Instance in this story itself is actually good.

It's just the story (as a whole) doesn't have a any basis or even a clear goal at all.

Like the system in this story has no background or clarity of purpose at all.

... more>> The only thing that is known is that the system wants to return to a higher dimension, with no explanation how the system will do it and why it's related with the system making infinite world.

The system itself is known spends a lot of time for gathering energy to return to a higher dimension, but at the same time the system also need to grant the participant's request which also consumes a lot of energy because this is the only way for him to return to a higher dimension (???)

For me, these two things do not make sense, because they are contradictory.

Not to mention that this doesn't explain why the system has to work together with ML to find a winner because isn't it the same whoever wins or what he asks for???

There is also no answer about how the system gets points... is it from the player who is death??? is it from instance completion??? then whats about other players outside of the show??? and why does it have to be from the show specificly??? Whether it's those who participate or don't participate in the show, don't they all still enter the Instance???

So yeah, even though this story has a good arc instance, the plot as a whole is full of contradictions and logical pox. <<less

Nvm I expected a lot from this novel but I really cant get into it. I hate the fact that ML is a creep who seuxally harrasses the MC; I can appreciate toxic yaoi but seriously..
Spoiler

it first happens when the ML was controlling a pervy doctor who strips the MC, reminder that they don't even know each other yet at this point, it was just tasteless and made me feel disgusted

[collapse]

Another peeve is how the MC is an albino male but only has the visuals of being one yet miraculously don't have the harmful side effects, sounds a bit convenient no? I know I shouldn't judge this harshly since from my years of reading novels, authors aren't mindful of these things since they mostly just focus on writing what makes an MC beautiful or OP. Still won't stop me from getting irked out.

It might just me being unable to immerse myself but the arcs aren't quite notable imo. They're well-written but not exceptionally unique. People say the MC isn't totally OP either but honestly he kinda is.. He didn't work for any of what he got now, he's conveniently lucky and I wish I would've seen him actually find anything challenging.

Honestly it's worth a try but it's just not my cup of tea.

Everything about this novel is simply scrumptious. Everything.

Firstly, gotta love our MC. Cunning, strong and unyielding, even to our ML (except in bed 😉). Like other BL novels, the MC of this novel is extremely beautiful but his attractiveness plays only a small role in the entirety of the novel. Compared to some other BL novels I've read before, the author doesn't mention MC's beauty on each and every page, which I appreciated.

ML, well he is someone you want to strangle at one time and kiss at another time. He... more>> is both enticing and irritating. The attraction between ML and MC is sizzling hot. The kind in which you can't help but squeal every time they interact. This is a real enemies to lovers romance novel.

The plot itself is well rounded and very intriguing. You always can't wait to see how MC fares in each instance and what will happen next.

N.B. Except for an interactive audience that played a small part at the start of the novel (they were bardly mentioned by the end) , there isn't much mention if any trainee program. Can't really figure out why the novel's name is thriller trainee. <<less

Oh boy this story has been a real ride to get through.

I will say however it has been exceptionally great. For the most part.

Yes this story does have some flaws. Shocker.

First let's start with the fact it's an unlimited flow story with Danmei. Enemies to lovers, and truly thrilling dynamic. Toxic? Lol nope not this story, sure it is a slow burn but I will say it is beyond satisfying to watch this great bond form. Yes I will say ML is most definitely a villain, not a condescending villain... more>> with heroic aspects, truly a menace, most likely why there is a sadistic characters tag on the story. He is sadistic. Yet you will still love him with the typical apathetic yet intrigued by MC vibes. Yes I will say despite the 5 star rating, I do believe the romantic relationship between demon and magician could have been more throughly introduced, as it did feel thrown in, but I will not complain. The bond you get is undoubtedly enemies to lovers. Even if the actual 'love making' isn't as strong as I thought It would be, however as the story isn't mainly centred on romance, it gets a pass here

However aside from the romance the MC is just super sick.

Spoiler

It is noted that he has antisocial behaviour tendencies, very cold/indifferent to people, and even he is sadistic in his own actions. However the key underlying factor that makes him and the instructor (ml) different is the fact he is still a responsible man. He will not break a promise he makes just as he does with class 9 in the school arc

[collapse]

Really however Zong Jiu is genuinely a lovable protagonist. You really do agree with the bullet chat and the constant raves they make about him.

But outside of that, I really just love the story most of all. The description and execution of each arc, really allures you in, even somebody like me who will usually drop stories and come back after a while due to a very slight disinterest. With this story I really was captivated, especially with the side characters, who all are well made. While not throbbing my heart in particular (coming from one who has read a little too much of angst) even I felt sorrow for some of the fates and sacrifices characters will make. Especially the unexpected ones too.

also.

Spoiler

I legit screamed a little inside when ML kissed MC for the first time lol

[collapse]

all in all this story is superb while I would give a 4.7/4.6 due to the story feeling just a little lacking after the school arc. Also because I normally critique harshly, I let my emotions sway me today. This story while not really flawless in receiving a 5, in my heart it will always be a five and maybe yours too. I really do love Zong jiu from the bottom of my heart. You go S magician.

Honestly however, even when the story lacked slightly, romance slightly rushed, the characters really did save the story. Yes it might have fell in quality slightly after a school arc, however the 'end' arc and the arc with baby devil still felt great in my personal opinion. So yes I would recommend this novel. Thriller trainee was good enough for me to make an account. Take that with a pinch of salt I guess. <<less

making him strong but ofc the ML had to be stronger lol

This is a pretty interesting novel

Pros:

I love how the ML is really out to kill the MC, I love how they retaliate against each other

Cons:

If you’ve read a lot of novels with the same genre/plot, you might find the arcs not so surprising or thrilling anymore

Overall:

Good read, will continue reading this again when more chapters are translated

Pros :

The enemy to lovers trope is truly something else. The tension between MC and ML *chef kiss*. The MC is a magician, my boi got brains and managed to make the best out of a situation. The ML is sooo freaking charming w his demeanor. The MC and ML don't change much after they got together; in some cases, the ML just changed to a totally different person. But not in this novel, the ML stay true to his character setting.

The arcs are very interesting. The school arc is... more>> superb, kinda reminds me of real life. The carzy circus arc is deeply disturbing, it kinda made me want to go vegan.

The side characters are well developed. My god, finally a novel where they do their side characters justice. The story got more ligh hearted towards the end.

The end and extra are very satisfying. Easily one of my top BL horror fav.

Cons :

Can't think of one. It's a fun read, every single chapter is a treat. <<less

I want to like the story but 30 chapters in it feels like I've been driving on the bumpiest road known to man while everyone's saying this is the best scenic route ever and the trip is worth it. You're all trying to convince me this is a paved road. What the f*ck.

Holding out hope for the rest of the novel because so far, the writing and most of the barrage is so cringe that I can't stand it.... reminded me too much of how I used to write back... more>> in middle school. I can see the vision, but the execution is without finesse and ham-fisted that it makes me feel like curling up from psychic damage.

Some of the instructions and introductions by the system aren't well explained at all, leading to being explained over and over again, trying to clarify the same person or point to the audience. It's not a very well-written story? And there's so many plot holes that I'm confused why everyone gasses it up to the heavens?

Most of the story is ok, I'm just a little confused because MC talks the talk, but he doesn't actually do much. The society (players who are cannon fodders) speaking style is also pretty grating, they're purposefully one dimensional. The prototypes for the other S-ranks are so comically like they came out of an Otome game.

Actually... the cannon fodders and side-characters acts like MC is a FL in a shoujo novel -- intense scrutiny and hatred for no reason. Whatever he does they react to it. It's a little funny to see but ever since I thought about it like this I can't take this novel seriously anymore. The classic new kid who attracted the most popular boy in class trope. And now everyone's jealous and trying to get to know why he's interested in her! Not just that, but the rest of the popular boys are interacting with her!! What's her secret!! Seriously...

I've anticipated alot, but it's the most chuuni writing I've had to comprehend, and I'm so flabbergasted at this point?? Because everyone seems to like it unironically??? <<less

After I decided to start this novel, I couldn't put it down. I was glued to the screen for hours. Weeks after I read it, I still can't get over.

MC: Strong with beauty that transcends beyond gender, fiery and prideful, this is my type of MC!! I love his quick thinking during an intense scenario. His methods, responses and actions are so interesting which made ML so down bad for him hehe. He strongly reminds me of the MC in WTNL.

He sees himself apathetic but he's actually caring as the... more>> story goes on and also a good leader.
Spoiler

I like how he turned caring to others after the school instance when he was greatly moved by the actions of his Class 9 classmates

[collapse]

ML: A hedonist. A sadomasochist with MC. He's someone who's bored and wants to have fun by tormenting others but his backstory *sobs*! Deep down he's just very lonely (and needed MC).

Due to the enemies to lovers trope, their relationship is so slow but the tension is very high. Sometimes prideful MC gets annoying for shutting it down. I want to scream at them to just get on with it already but still it kept me interested. ML seems conflicted if he wants to end MC for offending him many times but if he's gone, the entertainment would be gone. And then all of a sudden, ML became sooo h*rny.

I love their chemistry as a hedonistic power couple. I hope he does not get tired of MC one day but I don't think he would.

I got attached with the side characters too, especially Tsuchimikado. Zhuge An is still confusing for me because of spoiler but it's fun whenever he makes an appearance in the story. I want more Van Zhuo and Zong Jiu but possessive ML.

All in all, this is a very must read and reread!!! Hopefully I get a hard copy of this novel. <<less

I absolutely loved this...

This was my first novel with horror genre. But I did not really get scared while reading this, like the typical mindset about horror genre (well at least I used to think that horror genre is too scary) Before reading I thought that it would be very scary reading alone at night but after reading I found that this was just my cup of tea. Now I am thinking that maybe it is that I am quite fearless or maybe it is just that this novel was... more>> not too scary? I mean it did not include scary things? well who cares? this just had a bit - yup just a tiny bit of gore. Well I did not find it excessive, now I am thinking that maybe horror genre is about gore? Then I can definitely read more such novels...

I think I went too far from commenting about the novel...

well I don't know how to express my feelings in words. I just liked this book very much, for example this book has well written plot with a very interesting reason behind every character's actions and the reason behind their blackning, about why they became that way or why they are the way they are now and what motivates them to the actions they do (if you ignore the mania in them?) Every little detail -things that readers often fail to take notice of ends up being used at the end making this novel very well-ploted...

And it is definitely a HE.

This is just the best novel for you (I'm kidding I don't know about you but I definitely loved this)

I think I just rambled about how I loved this book without actually providing a review about its plot...

But I gonna say this again I loved this (actually I have this bad habit of mine, which is that when I like something then I absolutely get obsessed with it and just go on and on with how good that thing is) <<less

"It was as though there was a missing piece in both of them, yet found it on each other's body, finally becoming whole"

This is a story about enemies to enemies to enemies to lovers (yes, that long of enemies), with a lot of madness, pettiness and reluctance to admit defeat. Don't expect normal type of love, you will not find it here, but if you do read... it will be very satisfying and worth your time.

Setting of the novel is very interesting and can be a little confusing since we... more>> are dropped right into it without much details same as Zong Jiu (MC). It is later explained bit by bit in the novel, but in case it is still a bit confusing... I will write down premise in spoilers below:
Spoiler

'Thriller Trainee' is the novel in MC's world which he didn't finish as he stopped reading at the moment when character with the similar name as him died so what he knew was just the very start of the novel. Then he transmigrates into said character (ogMC) with the same name and some appearance resemblance. Infinite Loop world already had his contenders and they lived in the loop for many years and then system decided to hold "Thriller Trainee" special event (I call it 'event' so it would be more understandable). Contenders signed up for 'event' for rewards and grand prize, but our MC comes with a batch of newbies fresh from the (novel's) real world straight into this 'event' for numbers. People who watch live streams are contenders who didn't sign up for 'Thriller Trainee event', they still live in Infinite Loop. Audience just don't share space with trainees and obviously can't communicate with them.

[collapse]

Every instance was very well written and each gave significant plot progression to the end goal. Sometimes I like to check amount of chapters in arcs, but this time I just kept reading, it was just that interesting to see what will happen next rather than knowing when it will actually end. The emotional relationship of The Magician and The Devil is amazingly done, you will always feel tension, their interest in each other, familiarity and of course realization of their madness.

"The Devil and the Magician were creatures who didn't understand love

They were smart. They were conceited. They had the same madness buried in their bones. Yet they had never learnt to love someone."

Fair warning though, this novel has many gruesome scenes not for the weak minded, it is written in great detail so be cautious. It is very balanced writing and gives you roller coaster of emotions, one moment you cry cause of side characters and another you laugh at bad luck of a trainee and in the end you can be left speechless. Enjoyed it a lot, couple personalities and dynamic can be acquired taste though. Novel has a Happy Ending. <<less

Honestly love this so much! One of my favorite UF novels, I love the instances especially, doesn't feel too easy and it keeps you on edge thinking 'now how will the protag solve this' and the side characters aren't there just for the protag, they feel real, like they have their own life and feel like they themselves are the protagonist of their own story, they have their own agendas and lives and the world doesn't revolve around the protagonist. The love interest doesn't help the protag much like other... more>> UF novels but instead creates problems. Still, I like that the protag is not dependant on anyone, and the love interest truly feels like he is an enemy of the protag at the start, and it truly feels like they are both crazy and aiming for the others life. It also doesn't feel like the protagonist wins or achieves things due to plot armour, instead it feels as though he achieved it with his own ability. <<less

The MC is Zong Jiu and the ML is No. 1 otherwise known as the Devil or maybe Mephistopheles (if you read until the end with MTL you would understand the Mephistopheles reference)

It was literally destined enemies to lovers. There isn't as much romantic stuff as most people would like, but I was okay and loving it. I mostly MTLed the story because only half the book was translated by people.

a little BG on MC

Spoiler

Before he 'wore the book' he was in a car accident and couldn't be a magician anymore since he used his hands to do magic. He's also pretty apathetic and he had this nun who raised him. The nun knew he was apathetic and told him something like to use other people's expectations because he couldn't tell right from wrong (sorry if this is wrong). So the MC and ML are mostly the same except MC put restrictions on himself to not go crazy and unrestrained like ML. Oh, and since MC was pretty apathetic, he liked doing things that excited him, like how the ML likes things that excites him. Oh, and MC did get his hands fixed and after that it was the Las Vegas Arc so he was really good at cheating at the card games.

[collapse]

I also checked the official website where it was posted and there was an extra, but no website I found actually translated that extra that was posted this year (2024) so I went without it. (I have to remember to read it)

Spoiler

Omg I love Xu Sen and Xu Su. I'm glad they got their happy ending. I'm still wondering about the clown and mad hatter because the Mad Hatter called the Clown cute in one of the extras, but they're just good friends I suppose.

I'm not too sure because I did MTL. But did you know that the system actually places you where it thinks you belong so the top S-ranks were actually a bit confused on how the Magician leveled up so fast because the system would usually put the best people in the higher spots before but the system already placed the Magician in E-rank before Zong Jiu (our MC) woke up as Zong Jiu (og book character)

I love them TT, I love all of them. I love my top 10 ranks

It's a happy ending. You could stop reading at the end before the extras and it would still be a happy ending, but not absolute. So I suggest reading the extras for more of their relationship

Explanation of Arcs? (My explanation is all over the place)

Spoiler

A lot happened in this arc, like a vampire dying without anyone knowing and then the bathroom. The instance took place in an insane asylum. The nurses gave pills to all of the trainees. Some experienced people didn't swallow the pills. The magician didn't swallow the pill either, as he is a magician, he used magic to make it seem like he swallowed it but he didn't even put it in his mouth. It was also in this instance Zong Jiu (MC) met a person (he isn't important because he was being controlled by No.1 and then later died in this first instance; he was also one of the mole roles). The trainee instructor (No.1) was playing as an NPC In this instance and he was the doctor I believe. Later, Zong Jiu (MC), was invited in to get inspected. Before the inspection, the players were invited to go watch the scene personally where the doctor cured (?) some person where they found some clue to an S-rank prop. Then No.1 told MC about some S-ranked prop that used to belong in some box. The trainees were outside when the doctor (No.1 but no one knew it at the time) told the clue to Zong Jiu so the other trainees wanted to share the clue. MC said no (obv) and so the trainees wanted to kick him out, but not Messiah (fake self). The MC still left the group with that unimportant mole following him. He then went to the basement where there were more extra steps than before (weird...). Anyways a lot happened in this arc. I remember at the end of it and the funniest part is where our MC goes back to get his revenge from when the doctor "examined" him and hit him in the head with the hammer. That is also why he was given an F rating from the instructor (he's so petty).

LAS VEGAS!!! Perfect for magician. This man traded his soul to get some coins to play with!!! The rules basically said you can cheat as long as you don't get caught. I remember this dude, MC, went and cheated when playing with the S ranks and No.1 also cheated, but he withdrew first before they revealed the rest of everyone's cards because MC's cards were revealed before anyone else. Before that, I remembered MC literally opened someone's throat with his cards!! Good times, good times. The system only deducted some of the points because he only injured him, not killed him.

Spoiler

Third arc, Famine Mountain Village. The villagers were cannibals. There was a woman who ascended into immortality whom the villagers killed. There was another old lady (Grandma Yin) who basically instigated it all. The woman (who ascended into immortality) was told by her bodhisattva she didn't need to eat food as long as she ate the bodhisattva soil filled with yin to counteract the yang attribute of the Sacred Herb (an herb the woman ate which was given to her by her bodhisattva). After her eating the herb, she started giving a ton of her food to the villagers which they were thankful for, but they got greedy. They wanted to know where she was getting all this food from, only to realize that she had been eating dirt. The villagers were still hungry and greedy so they started following her, they started eating HER dirt, the dirt SHE grew. They were so rude and ungrateful!!! They soon started falling sick and dying, getting bloated and filled with dirt. The villagers thought she was playing tricks and wanted to know the actual secret so they locked her in a wooden house. Leaving her to rot for several days. She was still alive (I think) when they got to her. She had dug a ton of scratches in the walls to eat the wood because she was being starved in there. When the villagers finally opened the locked door, they grabbed her and opened her skull, pouring mercury in to kill her. Then they skinned her and ate her. As I said, this was all led by Grandma Yin. Anyways back to MC, MC was exploring a building and some dude from Las Vegas who had a grudge against him was following him. The dude with the grudge had some talisman that attracted ghosts and wanted to use it on MC because the trainees weren't allowed to kill each other (he basically wanted to kill MC with a borrowed knife). Luckily and sadly, it did not work. Reason? The MC knew he was coming and then the talisman fell out his hand. By time the dude realized it fell out his hand, the ghost was already in the hallway going for them. The dude died, but luckily, MC actually had the mole role this time so he had 3 immunes for the ghost. Pretty sure this is where the barrage (audience watching) learned that MC was the only mole in this instance. There was also a moment where No.1's puppet put a string on Anthony (right hand man of Van Zhou; aka vampire lord). Too bad MC is from another world and I think he pulled the string that was slightly controlling Anthony. Did you know that Zhuge literally knew Zong Jiu (MC) was the mole? Like right after killing this dude, Zhuge was like "are you ready to go?" and MC was shook. Anywho, as the mole this dude was literally blamed for one of the hanging corpses which I laughed at. Also they failed the mission, both sides, so they had one more chance. The task for the non-mole role was to keep the villagers alive. The task for the mole (our MC) was to find the perfect corpse. Then some stuff happened blah blah between them getting in the village and not. So afterwards, this dude (MC) accidentally with the Grandma Yin (bad lady) into the ghost realm to find the soul of the immortal lady to ask questions (because no one knew the lady actually ascended into immortality because the villagers were lying about how she hung herself). Then Grandma Yin sold MC to the ghost realm!! literally laughing at that, and MC didn't know. So MC literally bribed this guard with ghost banknotes (hard to get because the living have to burn them to send it to you and the workers supposedly don't earn that much). MC had stacks of banknotes ad even got the guard to hire guards for MC to travel and get revenge on granny. Granny was actually slightly being controlled by the instructor (No.1) and was just roaming around. She wasn't getting attacked because she had some lantern that didn't allow the ghosts to attack her or get too close. MC had something like that but it was a bell that was spiritual and it mimicked the dead? Not too sure, but it kept the ghosts from attacking him when he rung it. Anywho, with the guards that one guard hired for MC, they went to the granny and stopped her. The granny stopped and put the lantern down because she knew she couldn't start anything with the ghost officials, and that's when MC took her lantern and she was shook. She was mad too, but then MC kicked her off the bridge into the river of souls, Hilarious!! Yeah... so he got an F ranking rate from the system because of the dead NPC, but hey cmon! He got an S ranking rate from the instructor. OH! And there was only one villager actually alive, the rest were all demons because they ate the pure natural yang contaminated soil which birthed demons in them. The only living villager was the little kid of one of the men. I felt caring parent vibes when MC helped save the kid. Anyways, the perfect corpse for MC was Grandma Yin's corpse, but everyone put her corpse in the coffin already!! Because when they were in the ghost realm, everyone thought the magician and grandma died (only the grandma died). Anyways, the coffin lid was way too heavy. Oh! And the immortal ascended lady also appeared because of how much soil those villagers ate and had came to take away the properties of the soil (the Yang). Since the coffin lid was heavy, MC was struggling and then the next second he was pulled in. SO now it's him in the dark coffin with No.1 (No.1 pulled him into his darkness and I don't know where grandma went). MC was like, you wanna play this game? and then proceeded to burn the coffin with both of them in it because one way or another they were going to die together or never. No.1 let him go when the flames almost consumed them. Then out rose our MC from the burnt coffin with also completing his task and No.1 was already gone out of sight.

So there's a lot of information in each arc, so it's better to just read it so I'll just say my favorite scenes from each arc.

Spoiler

The King's Game, when those two best friends were chosen to touch the ground first and they would live. So they literally devised this entire plan so they can touch the ground at the same time so they both can live. That was literally the highlight. There was also a part with Xu Sen literally took his rib out instead of taking Xu Su's when Xu Su offered. Happily, Messiah healed Xu Sen. The other dude facing off against Xu Sen was too slow and died. Also a part where MC had to get what was given away by him which was only one thing (The rose No.1 gave him at Las Vegas). MC snuck into No.1's room and ruined all of his suits.

Spoiler

First Highschool arc was so nice and uhm. Luckily in the end and the extras, Class 9 came back (very briefly). MC was in class 9. Index 15 and Index 99 was probably the saddest. Index 15 triggered Index 99's sacrifice. And MC literally promised to take them all out of that instance, and he never breaks his promises but he didn't mean to. Index 15 became faceless; faceless people are super smart but emotionless and basically not human anymore. Index 99 was su*cide. Index 99 had jumped off the building before the grades were calculated. So the teachers had to recalculate the grades without Index 99. Index 99 and Index 98 were literal friends : (. The lower index you are in a class, the less grade you make (they were less smarter than others ig). With Index 99's death, the class had enough points to make it through the exam. There was also another class who was killed because they were bullying some people to become faceless to boost the entire class. So the bullied turned in empty papers so they could all die together and they did die. Class 9 and maybe Class 1 I think were the only classes not to bully people into becoming faceless. Anywho, I LOVED THE DESTRUCTION OF THE INSTANCE!! THEY SET FIRE TO IT, BURN BABY BURNNNNN!!!!!! Then Index 15, still faceless, sacrificed himself, ignoring the calls of class 9 to come back, killed the rest of the faceless in the fire. Oh, And No.1 was a foreign teacher in this instance. Pretty sure this instance was where they fought in the hallway and then MC was forced in a small space with No.1 to hide.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!! TODAY WE INTRODUCE THE CLOWN! THE MAD HATTER! THE MAGICIAN! AND BEST OF ALL, SNOW WHITE!!!! The magician was literally chased by No.1 who was controlling the ghost king. But can I mention the team the Magician had? bro had his team equipped with roller skates and skateboards!!! Those would be so fun!! I want to join them when they are skating away from the ghosts!!!! All the ghosts had a fixed hunting radius whereas the ghost king had free reign. MC was chased into a mirror maze by No.1 and then No.1 caught him in his black wispy robe and then I think No.1 "attacked" his neck? I know there was a point somewhere after MC had to wear a scarf...I loved The Mad Hatter's and the Clown's help given to the magician.

Judgement day... The old instance where No.1 belonged. The first one he destroyed. I loved the 6-year old No.1, he was so cute. He even called Zong Jiu (MC) gege. Little cutie was tainted by the world. He hated storms, and was scared of the dark. He was also not scared of fire. He was the original savior (maybe) in the prophecy. Until those people tried to forcefully make them the savior (I suppose forcefully). He was the body of the original savior, but in the end became the devil. Those people shouldn't have done that. The kid didn't have the purification ability, he had the transfer ability. So everyone's sins, he would transfer to himself...I loved when MC said No.1 could always come to him and remind him to light the candle because the nuns forgot to light the candle at night for the 6-year old. : ( (poor baby. But he is no longer a baby and he was given help too late. May as well read the arc.

Masquerade... Uhm...I think the devil got a little "devilish" in this arc.. haha.. MC denied him though with his own rose. LMAOOO THE ONMYOJI WAS LITERALLY CROSS DRESSING AND WAS PLAYING IT OFF SO PERFECTLY AND ZHUGE WAS DRESSED AS SOME PANDA MASCOT AND THEN ONMYOJI LOST THE BET TO THE EXORCIST AND THEN SUFFERED SOCIAL DEATH BECAUSE HE TOOK OUT A BLUE TALISMAN WHICH EVERYONE SAW AND THEN KNEW WHO THE CROSS DRESSER WAS. Oh, and the MC dressed up as No.1 in this event and No.1 dressed the same. And then all of No.1's fans got it wrong and thought Zong Jiu was the real devil. FUNNY

Crazy circus... ehhhh.... not my fav... The roles between animals and humans were switched. this was an instance that had cut off contact with the main system. And because of the instructor's request (No.1) the main system gave the sub system to the two who were accidentally summoned to this separate instance (MC and the onmyoji). (Sorry if he's actually not an onmyoji, that's what MTL gave me). So the two only had 3 days to find a way to connect back to the main system. There were cultists who were survivors of 20 years ago and wanted to summon a god to leave so they summoned sacrifices (the MC and onmyoji). Then the cultists summoned the wrong evil god... again. How do you mess up twice? The Onmyoji already escaped through the key that No.1 gave to MC for only MC to use. It literally lead to a big cage with a mattress in it... suspicious. MC had fallen into a manic mess and thought himself to be part of Cthulhu. And then proceeded to convince Cthulhu, he was apart of them. laughing. The cult leader tried sacrificing MC to the evil god, but MC was like reverse card uno and the cult leader died. Then MC was fought over by the evil god and No.1

Why is there a punishment copy? Bro, the system is so mean. Just because this dude (MC) accidentally go the curse mark of the evil god... The curse of the evil god made MC look on a godly beauty level and literally everyone lusted after him (not a good thing). MC was a hired actor supposed to play on this haunted set with these other actors. Then the ghosts took over and wanted them to finish the script. Then the MC went to the bathroom per script and met with No.1 and No.1 and them did a little "devilish" because the evil god was the god of fertility and stuff and so... to get rid of the curse mark, something "devilish" had to happen. Then later in this arc, they did do some more "devilish" and I think No.1 destroyed this instance? Yes? No? I don't know... I just know they never finished the plot

[collapse]

Spoiler

Final Battle? Nah, more like more "devilish". The Faust was when it was a 1v1 instance and the magician lost his memory as per the requirements. The MC had to retrieve his memory if he wanted to win the instance, but the Devil beat him. RAGEEEEEEEEEEE my mind is not comprehending, please just read this short arc. Yes, there is "devilish" in it.

Spoiler

YES AFTER THE END!! they got married //0~0// and MC didn't even know at the time. everyone was shocked. Zhuge was the witness to their marriage. Zhuge will always be the number 1 scammer in this story. Xu Sen and Xu Su end up together. We see Clown and Mad Hatter and friends in this arc. Please just read this short arc, I know I'm writing this but I am writing this very unwillingly because my mind won't stop saying what if I forget and other things. Going crazy bro..

oh and!

Spoiler

Did you know that Zhuge An was actually Gui Guzi!?? They aren't even alive fully!! They are so close to death and they only lived because they wrote their name on something.. Something for immortals maybe? I forgot... but he says it somewhere before the Faust arc
