I seriously avoid bitter-sweet novels and sad endings coz I cry easily and it affects my mood all day. But have chosen this book after reading Easily Set Aflame by the same author thinking it'd be another fluffy romance but... ((:::

Still, it is so well written, I've no choice but to give it 5/5.

ML's and FL's feelings were so tangible and so so real.

... more>> Author MBHB has a way of gripping readers' heart and never lets go, seriously.

Since I'm a sissy, I read the ending chapters and epilogues 3 times (3X crying) first to steel my heart before continuing to the middle parts of the book, but tears still fell. (Sigh, this is self punishment)...

Having said that, teacher Gu and Tong Yan really left a strong impression on me, especially Teacher Gu, so kind and selfless despite what he's going through.

Edit: To this day, I still remember this novel vividly and my heart still clenches. Although, it has a happy ending, can't stop wondering what will happen to ML in the future.? <<less

So, now we are almost halfway through with the story, and the important variables, I think, have been introduced or at least slightly touched. This story is like water that will seem plain until we see it in a larger frame. Add that with Mo Bao Fei Bao narrative that, as usual, brought to mind tv drama scenes, and you’ll find Together Forever as one of the must-read for fans of drama or romance.

Reading the story, you’ll find the bitter and sweet sides of loving wisely;... more>> how reality sometimes demanded loving couples to be prudent because there are things more important than their love, and how there are people who were able to persevere even after storms repeatedly attacked them. More than love story, Together Forever is inspiring.

If there’s a downside to the story, it might be that the story focused too much on the two protagonists, and the other characters are placed like cameo; interrupting their sweet time together here and there, then gone, appeared again when the story needed a breather, then gone,.... but there’s still more than half of the novel, and after the recent chapter, I’ve got high hopes that the characters will be explored or developed further in later chapters. <<less

This novel takes on a more realistic approach to a love story. Two tragic main characters fall in love with each other and though they try their best, they still have their flaws. There is really no miracles in this story, a very sad tone takes over the story, but as a result the love appears much more deep.

A really beautiful story, very bitter sweet.

The recent corona-virus outbreak in China got me thinking about this book. Honestly, I couldn't bare to continue reading it to the end. It was at once so full of love and melancholy that even when the characters were happy I, as the reader still felt vaguely and unknowingly sad. Highly recommended if you can stand a more despondent tone.

I usually don't read anything that has teacher-student relationships, but this novel is the one exception. The novel portrays the relationship progress in a really sweet way and doesn't have any annoying scenes that I've seen in Japanese mangas.

When tragedy happens one after another. You feel as if heaven is closing their eyes on you while you scramble to pick up what's left of your crumbling life.

Then that person appeared.

One that knew very well how you felt and perhaps experienced much worse than you.

Two word that describes the two of them. On one side they have a love that's transcends time and sounds. On the other hand, the burden that each of them carry is much too heavy for the both of them to endure.

Will time really be the answer to forget and heal our scars? When at the end, you found yourself alone.

This novel is realistic, each character will leave a deep impression of what everyday people one may encounter. Wearing mask of happiness, indifference or peace. Yet hidden beneath are scars of life, tragedy, and maturity. You learn to accept life as they come in to your life and leave when their due had passed. We hide and attemps to come to terms to our negative feelings-- to move on. But the process is only well worth it when you have someone who will offer their arms when you feel like giving up. <<less

9/10!! Tearsss were spilled but my heart is filled with sweetness. ML is so awwww like I need him. Story is short but is impactful! Love it. Really depict how dating someone with disability is not as romantic or easy as some story portray

I have binged reading this for three days like when I am binge watching a Cdrama or a Kdrama because the story is so worthy of my precious time.

The whole story is just so relatable. Both leads led a scarred life but both also have sunny disposition in their lives.

I love how they started their love story. The small gestures the ML put on and the timing whom he orchestrated... more>> brilliantly made them closer to each other. It is indeed when a man likes a woman he will do everything. He will create a situation wherein they can meet. That's how a couple get to know each other. Being in love is a very good feeling and I felt that from PingshengYan couple.

If you are hesitating to read this, just dont. Start now because this love story is worthy of your time. <<less

Their story, struggles, emotions, love, responsibility. Past, everything.. Its just so touching and so heart breaking as well as realistic. I have always read the novel about a guy and girl falling in love, either being rich or poor but this is first time that I read this kind of novel and this story just touched my heart. Its a slice of life as it has tag, our MC and ML story just touched my heart, ripped my heart! This novel is a GEM! Reading during COVID-19 pandemic made me... more>> even feel so sad.

"I never left you" Damn that part just ripped my heart!! They know each other's their struggles, shortcomings, flaws fears but they still keep moving on "just wanting to be together"! Loved it! I would 100% recommend to read it! <<less

A beautifully written story.

It makes you feel for the MC and ML as you get to read about their past. The reality you might not face even as it exsist in others. How it shapes them to who they are now. Causing melancholy when you think about how they have become who they are because of or despite their past. And yet there's such sweetness in their interactions with each other as they continue in life. Living continuously, not focusing on the past.

The novel is under a happy ending

in a sense it's happy cause they reunite. But the problems that are very likely to appear in the future weights heavily on my mind. Thus giving it a bittersweet feel.

Thus when I first read the ending I swore I'll not read the novel again no matter how well it's written. But yet when I see the novel again I can't help but to flip through it (i meant to flip through how they met n such in the earlier part). Yet the story captivated me to once again read it through to the end.

After some thoughtful consideration, I decided to dive into this novel, and it turned out to be a true joy.

The author has a remarkable talent for weaving emotions into a beautiful tapestry of romance, heartwarming moments, heartbreak, jealousy, family love, and the feeling of being helpless.

Their story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, showing that even in tough times, happiness can triumph over sadness.

If I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to make the novel longer because, after finishing it, I felt a void... more>> and missed the characters, Mr. &Amp; Mrs. Gu.

I wholeheartedly encourage you to give this novel a chance; it's an experience you'll never regret. <<less

The last chapter had me in a chokehold and a fit of tears. I'll be honest, midway through I wasn't feeling it that much. Although a decent book, I just felt an obligation to complete it after getting a few chapters in and with it being a short book.

However, the more that was divulged about the characters, especially how Tong Yan's mental state was developing, I really started to get hypnotized by the novel and enveloped into her emotions. Gu Pingsheng is one of the kindest MLs I've ever read... more>> about, and his situation being a very real possibility to someone in that time only drew me further into the book. Both main characters and their families really just hit home. This is one of those books I recommend someone to read at least just once, even if it isn't your genre of choice. It's a bit fluffy, but also has a bit of emotional turbulence with a heavy setting. Truthfully I subjectively feel this is more-so a 4.5/5 for me, only due to the fact that this isn't my genre of choice. Objectively it's a 5/5. And to end my review, I think the end of the author's note, which incorporates the description of the book, is the best place to leave off:

What if you meet a teacher who was once a surgeon? In that year when you were thirteen years old, both his and your mother were being resuscitated in the same hospital. However, six or seven years later, he can no longer hear any sound, nor can he work in an operating theatre. He has picked up the books and become an ordinary university professor.

What if he and you are alike, having a mother who abandoned you and a father who cannot be spoken about?

What if, for a nationwide calamity where many dying needed to be saved and wounded needed to be rescued, he had lost the health that he should have rightfully had?

What if he loves you?

Could you bear not to love him?

Something about the description being our first impression of the book, and this writing being the last we read of it, completes a satisfying, yet slightly melancholic, full circle to this novel. <<less

The book is great. I love the story and characters. It's about life, how cruel, ruthless, unfair it can be to some of us; our main characters choose to keep going, moving forward, letting go of bitterness and all the negative feelings rightfully attached to the battle scars one gets from life... Truly inspiring and encouraging novel. I could relate to many things in here and it moved me to recall that all in all, nothing matters so as long as you decide it does not matter... the other way... more>> around works the same. Despite the cliches of the story, I am absolutely a fan of the MC and ML. Despite all the tragedies they face, at the very end, they still get back together. Certain aspects of the story is rooted in real life, so it makes the story more relatable to the readers. As always whenever I read romance novels, I find perfect couples, so this novel portrayed a more human relationship. Will recommend this novel to all romance genre fans! ^V^

In my opinion, one of the author's best works. Also, great work done with translation.

It has made me come back time and again, reading four times.

TY seems so real a person yet not. While GPS is the ML everyone dreams of. It's not just a live story when they really owned it.

... more>> MBFB describes the struggles of life, big and small, all too well. Even the tiniest feelings reflects into words in the purest form.

In short, I'm just a huge MBFB fan.

Ps: A lot of credit goes to the Translation team for the experience. I'm just very sad that it's been taken down.

Definitely, Definitely one of the best I've ever read.

Gu Pingshen and Tong Yan's story made me want to cry but unable to summon tears. They were so so strong, growing, even more, stronger as their lives progressed and the story progressed.

And once their happy ending came I was ecstatic along with them. They deserved it hundred percent.

Recommended 100%

Worth every second of reading!

A beautiful story yet also a bit heartbreaking at the same time. I still couldn't get my self out of the story for a while because of that. Don't worry, it's still happy ending for both of our leads but still, the losses that they experienced and the heartache caused by their brief separation were still enough to make me sad.
