The novel positive points:-

1. MC is very stubbornly determined to be very low-key, all the time. Will only take to fight others if he can divine an 'instant death' result. Because of this, MC makes very many sub-par decisions.
2. Book of Misfortune + Heavenly Dao Spirit Stones + 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999 years of lifespan.
3. Su Qi (at least for the first 250 chapters or so).
4. Dark Forbidden Lord (and Strange Deity?).
5. The system's simulation field and derivative function.
6. Black Hell Chicken, Dao Comprehension Sword, Yang Tiandong and a few others.
7. Author set the pacing of the storyline just right. Read: VERY FAST! This novel definitely going to suck if it has TMW's or MGA's pacing.

Negative points:-

1. Due of MC's very many sub-par decisions because of his stubbornness, the storyline itself is just average and extremely predictable. Plot armors abounds in this novel.
2. Quite a lot of side characters here are practically useless, outnumbering those who are impactful like the ones I mentioned in point 6 above.
3. The lack of harem as of what I have read. Plus, the romance really sucks. This is where MC can do better; he should start eating grass regularly for starters.

Lighthearted and funny cultivation novel, don't take it seriously! It's great for what it is. No real sense of tension ever, just tagging along to watch the MC continuously beat people up. Reminds me a bit of one punch man in that aspect.

Personally my favorite part of the novel is watching all his disciples and how they grow and interact lol. His grand disciples really surpassed his disciples so quickly 😂

It is a chill breakdown of the Xianxia genre.

What it does best is maintaining the relevance of the events and the characters even after the MC becomes OP. The excitement has never diminished. The story flows logically. Overall, it is a good read.

this novel is awful. I just finished reading my senior brother is too steady and got through about 70 chapters of this until I asked myself "why am I reading this?". I skimmed through looking for interesting chapters until the end but they don't exist. This novel has nothing to offer at all. His cultivation speed is so fast, it's almost nonsensical. Very good story, with an MC who is actually low key, and keeps being low key.

The rest is standard xianxia, down to the disappointing romance/harem and power ups.

I enjoyed it way more than I expected, due mainly to mc's personality.

It's a Good novel but not the best yet. MC is generic OP type, but the story itself little bit unique compared to other xianxia, wuxia novel. MC has a decent personality but the problem is too low-key. He won't leave the sect and almost entire time only cultivates, in the beginning, it feels good but after 200chapter I can't handle it anymore it's become too predictable and felt boring. MC is really a coward and hate trouble but to the truth is he knew that being a brainless dude only push him to never ending fight and fight until he cannot practice. (After all he can get power and magic tool so why seek death if his cheat give more powerful than others)

He's only goal is to have a long life and be powerful to the point no one threatening him. Not to be a dude that wanted to over power the world. (Until later)

To fill his boring life the curse book make the story not boring and more likely mysterious. He been give a vest of Dark lord or something.

He have harem but not love them deep enough to sacrifice his life. After all to his past life, he was so sick that make him helpless and now knowing that he can have a long life now, we can be blame that he wanted only to have quiet and peaceful life (if he didn't seek death)

If you've read a few xianxia novels and are tired of the tropes, give this light hearted story a shot. It pokes fun at many of the things that have been annoying us for years, but it falls short on telling a compelling story without all the baggage to support it. For people new to the genre, I suggest bookmarking this and coming back to it.

I enjoy it, its unique and better than most of the crappy cultivation novels of today.

One problem I have is the names of some items are just too dam long.

Ex:

reading just an few chapter of this and you can already see where this is heading for. No face slapping? No this novel have face slapping. The MC remain (no pretend to be low key with his cheat you can tell he never have the intention to be low-key with all cheat). *Characters;

The MC, a modern earthling transmigrated/ reborned to lower immortal world. Receive a system as his 'golden-finger'.

He has a very complicated personality.. lol... Some might think he's a coward, YUP.. He is!! He's very timid, unconfident and too careful. He'll come out only After the system confirmed that he can beat the enemies, otherwise.. he could only hide & 'curse' them.

The other characters... not really important.

With the way it was written you always know he is going to win or he wont fight and even if he cant win they cant do anything to him with his Dao fields. I would have like the story to focus more on the sect or his kids over him not really doing anything but cultivating for 10-50-100-++ years.

I usually like passive MC, but this one just soulless.

Everyone should have a goal you want to achieve right? In this novel MC just like a cultivation robot. Only cultivate and care about nothing else. Why he want to cultivate so much? Nothin. He cultivate for the sake of cultivate, nothing more.

If you live a 1000 year doing nothing but sitting in a cave alone, did you truely live a 1000 year?

Very unlike other cultivation novels. There is a system and all, but how it is used is very.... not normal? Haha...

This novel was very relaxing to read, but also very satisfying. Our MC is a unique fellow, unlike others I've read about. I've come to love his character, though he is such an oddball most of the time.

I enjoyed some aspects, and not so much the others.

It's well written and translated, with only a few cases of gender confusion.

The main character is calm, rational, very risk-averse.

Most of the female characters are distinct, and some are very capable.

What I disliked:

• The system is too much of a cheat; I don't mind a cheat in the beginning, but would have liked to see the main character do more to achieve his goals. Instead, except for his incredible persistence, his only remarkable aspect seems to be the "system".
• The cultivation time expands exponentially, to the point where it's completely disconnected from any proportion or connection.
• The MC turns from a selfish but somewhat decent guy to an outright villain. Towards the end of the book, he takes actions that lead to multiple deaths without the slightest twinge of conscience. At the very end, he plays with lives and excuses mu*ders "because mortals are like ants".
• The ending in general was strained. Many of these webnovels have too short a denouement. This one has an overly long one. Once the MC becomes all powerful; instead of saving lives and fulfilling wishes he keeps playing games.
• And finally, much like My Senior Brother is Too Steady, this sometimes reads like fan-fiction of Investiture of the Gods.

Honestly it deserves 3.5 stars maximum as it's extremely mid and doesn't stand out at all.

But the constant power ups and "omg the MC is so powerful because I can't hear him coming or whatever" moments that make a novel exiting and the cautious MC that give it a touch of realism (compared to the classic trope "I shall defeat every obstacle on my path, be it a mortal or the heavens themselves") make this work more high level than it should be.
