This is a below average time killing novel, MC only care to train and discover what new magic he will learn is the main drive.

There is some interesting ideas vut they are rather few compared to the rather boring form.

Like Clearoad said there is no suspense in this story and worse the character progressiob power is incredible boring.

... more>> Despite being a "magician" he more and more relies on a flying sword like a xianxia, while his elemental spells is rather lackluster feeling either generic or situational.

We know exactle why the author focus on training is because the character interaction are very stiff as if they are amateurs playing character in a stage with generic personality/dialogue.

I dont recommend unless you really want a mindless growing wizard novel. <<less

As a fan of progression fantasy, what stands out most in this genre is how the protagonist faces and overcomes challenges, which simply doesn’t exist in this novel. Any need the protagonist has is quickly resolved by a convenient gacha system that honestly stifles and kills the story. There’s no tension or doubt that the protagonist will become the greatest mage in the future; everything is handed to him on a silver platter. Additionally, the other characters feel like soulless dolls, and even the protagonist's "best friend" doesn’t seem to... more>> have any reason to fall in love with him or even like him at all. Overall, this work is a huge waste of a good title. <<less

It's exactly what it says on the tin. MC, a fervent fan of stories where the protagonist endlessly grows in power, gets rewarded for his 5700 word defense of an author by becoming the protagonist of his next series. Endless growth ensues.

The setting has the typical exponential power scaling, the MC has a really overpowered cheat that rewards him with gacha pulls for every 10 hours of training, and he's clearly destined to become the next great figure in this world with all those advantages combined with his 30 hour... more>> workdays and a properly cautious mindset.

Where the story is weak is that the setting is not particularly interesting. The world building is just barely deep enough to enjoy the story, the love interests don't get any good screen time, the fights are just okay. I did like the Frieren cameo with a certain set of scales though.

Ultimately this story is for fans like the MC - you get to follow along as the protagonist gets stronger and stronger, picking up more spells, artifacts, etc. At least it's not a regression story where MC just heads to the next check in point to pick up their next upgrade - the MC actually has to work a bit harder for everything.

As of chapter 102, it's relatively entertaining despite the flaws. <<less

This was quite enjoyable while it lasted. Unfortunately, doesn't look like we'll be able to enjoy watching the MC continue to progress. I hope the remaining chapters get translated at least.

The characters seem a little stilted, but most possess their own charm. The MC really is only concerned with training, so his interactions definitely fall on the colder side, but he maintains common sense of being in a society.

The chapters are a nice length that don't feel like the usual word-count-determined chapters.

I can't recommend since it says it was discontinued... more>> at 105 chapters, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the story and magic system. <<less
