The world teeters on the brink of collapse. One day, ordinary humans begin mutating, developing violent tendencies and turning on their own kind. Rivals who once fought over a coveted guide, Kang Yu-han and Seo Ji-hyuk are known as mortal enemies who can barely stand to look each other in the eye.

Then, out of the blue, they’re assigned to a critical mission:

“From today, you two will work as the Variant Detection Task Force within the Seoul Center. Find and eliminate the Variants.”

However, Kang Yu-han also receives a covert mission that must be kept from Seo Ji-hyuk at all costs. As it turns out, Kang Yu-han is the only person who can protect Seo Ji-hyuk, a ticking time bomb, from self-destructing.

But Yu-han is determined never to reveal his hidden role as Seo Ji-hyuk’s guide—even if it costs him his life. Nor does he plan to expose the feelings he secretly harbors for him.
