[One-sentence summary: Transmigrate as a lazy wife in a 70s novel and try to make yourself comfortable while being lazy!]

When villagers mention the Lin family’s daughter-in-law, they can’t help but sigh and lament. What kind of misfortune has fallen upon Old Lin’s family? Undoubtedly the whole family was diligent and hardworking.

The eldest daughter-in-law is a skilled farmer, and the second daughter-in-law is a skilled cook, but the third daughter-in-law is notorious for being lazy, neither working in the fields nor doing household chores at home. It is said that she is even unwilling to cook at home during the autumn harvest.

All mothers in the village were watching the scene while reminding their sons to marry someone who is more diligent in the future.

On the other hand, the Lin family doesn’t care at all. The third daughter-in-law is a bit lazy, but who told her to have the ability to write articles and earn money? Whenever she comes to the county town, she brings back meat and other food. Whose other daughter-in-law has this ability?

Since they have enough food to eat, it is just appropriate that they do more work at home.

The noise outside does not matter. Zhou Yunmeng, the third daughter-in-law of the Lin family, is currently calculating the supplies in the supermarket herself. She was thinking about what excuse to use when she brings back some meat and food on another trip to the county.

Oh! That’s right: she also needs to write a few articles quickly to make money!

ps:

1. Transmigration. Has personal designs, for example, in the 1970s there was no payment for writing articles but the world in the book has it.

2. Daily life, it is just about eating and drinking.

So the summary is very accurate. There's no plot. It's just eating and drinking. Some of her work. And family. Overall an easy and happy life with no problems. A true slice of life. That's it. This story is about an MC who died in her original world and transmigrated as a passerby into a novel she read (the OG enters MC's body but this is irrelevant for the story). She's a lazy writer homebody in her OG world. She brings this laziness into the new world. But it's not... more>> much different from her character setting. Her goal is to complete the 7 plot points that her passerby character was part of in order to unlock sections of her golden finger.

MC's golden finger is present throughout the entire story. Which I like that. But it's basically just for her to eat and live well. Her husband is basically not really present for most of the story since he's away in the military and MC lives at home. He appears more in the last 30% of the story once MC moves to be with him. MC exemplifies "who's good to me, I'm good twice as back to you". This lets her get along peacefully with her inlaws even with her laziness. But there is a bit of: a strong backbone if one is making money/women need to make money. She also treats her mother well. If anything, this story reads as a cooking novel. Even tho the MC isn't the one cooking, we get in depth descriptions.

Some parts of the novel do get repetitive since MC's life doesn't change much day to day. I give this story 4 stars since it's basically giving exactly what I thought it would based on the summary. Minus 1 star because of the writing - the repetition, sometimes it gets a bit too verbose when describing things, characterization could be slightly better as many feel quite flat. The OG story that MC transmigrated into is in the background. We only really get a sense of it when MC is meeting plot points. But it's really not too important. If you like a slow slice of life story focused on eating and some miscellaneous things. I'd say this is for you!

PS. And the other work that the author wrote in the post script sounds very interesting actually! The title is " I got rich in a convenience store in the community" (我在小區開便利店暴富). <<less
