Lin Shu is a freelancer with poor health but a driven personality. Despite her young age, she is financially successful. However, she finds herself transported into a period novel due to an act of bravery.

In the original story, the protagonist is beautiful with two adorable children. Her husband, who earns a high salary, supports her despite not being around. However, she lives as a downtrodden character and ends up dying from despair after her husband’s death.

Lin Shu: “Good health, cute kids, money to eat well, and no annoying husband—where else can you find such a good life?”

Even though her children are destined to become villains, the main story hasn’t started yet.

“As long as I don’t die, I win!”

Deciding to lie low and avoid trouble, she spends her days strolling with her kids, eating snacks, and watching the drama unfold.

Lu Shaotang was a notorious troublemaker as a child but excelled in the military, achieving great success. Many high-ranking officials wanted him as their son-in-law, but he had no interest in marriage.

When his mother forced him to marry, he returned on the wedding day only to find his wife didn’t like him. After three days of marriage, he left for the army again.

Five years later, after surviving many dangers, he returns to his hometown. He decides to give his wife money and freedom if she doesn’t like him, keeping the children.

It’s a 3.5 star rating. It was good in the beginning and about up to 2/3 of the story, but then it got tedious. The MC and her kids were too perfect. It picked up a bit towards the last few chapters ‘coz of the ML’s scenes, so that’s a bit of a reward for one’s staying power. It’s not bad though, so feel free to check it out. 🤗

Read most of it with MTL. Not too great literally but as a means to spend some calming soothing time it's perfect. Don't have any comments for the story it is mostly cooking, childcare and

story could go a lot longer with children growing up and family getting richer but I loved where the author left it either. It did kinda leave me wanting to read more but that just could be me having an addiction to it

It’s a great slice of life novel. There isn’t much drama a lot of it is food, dealing with family, the different love stories. I just liked the very warm atmosphere between the family members.
