Have you ever experienced crossing over to a completely different scene in the blink of an eye?

Lin Yuzhu did.

She found herself bewildered as she transmigrated to the 1970s. No, not just transmigrated—she entered the world of a novel.

She has a system, a protagonist on her side, and there are antagonists in the story.

But is she the protagonist?

No.

She’s just an onlooker who stumbled into this world by accident.

As an onlooker, her life revolves around watching the drama unfold. She doesn’t want other people’s excitement, nor does she meddle in others’ affairs.

Her goal? Quietly amass a fortune. She’s set a modest goal of earning a few hundred million, attending college, buying a house… and another house… and then more houses.

She’s determined to live the life of a self-sufficient, laid-back “salted fish” (slang for someone who takes it easy). If she can spend her days lounging on a sofa with her feet up, she’ll consider it a life well-lived.

This book is one of the rare good 70s novels that I've ever read. When I first saw the summary I thought that this is going to be a typical cliché novel but I was wrong. It does have the typical system, black market and petty ppl etc, but the author has managed to create an interesting and emotional story.

What I love most about this novel is that each character is fleshed out. Not all the ppl who had conflicts with the FL continues to make trouble. Instead some of... more>> them became good friends with the FL or simply move on. I love the way that the familial relationships, friendships and romantic relationships are written.

Our FL Lu yuzhu is definitely one of my favourite heroines of all times. She's arrogant and wanton but not annoying. Especially not petty and tries her best to resolve conflicts to her advantage. But if provoked she won't hold back either. There were many times I laughed until tears due to her antics. I love the ML too. He was very supportive and let's yuzhu be independent. Even after meeting the ML our FL doesn't change her character. She continues to live freely and domineeringly. Something that's quite rare in cnovels.

There are many good things to say about this novel but I'm afraid I'll spoil the read. But this book is definitely worth at giving a try. <<less
