Transmigrating to the Interstellar to Raise an Emperor

Description

Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.

After Qi Shiyan starved to death in the apocalypse, he transmigrated into the fiancé of the crown prince of the Interstellar Empire.

The original owner was very miserable. Not only was he betrayed by his fiancé and mocked by the entire network, but he also had an accident while participating in a live broadcast program and accidentally became stranded on an undeveloped planet and died of poisoning.

The undeveloped planet was very primitive, but when Qi Shiyan looked at the dense jungle and the wild beasts in front of him, drool* flowed from the corners of his mouth.

Delicious food! Here he comes!

While surviving in the wilderness, Qi Shiyan picked up an injured man.

This man met his aesthetic standards in every way. Qi Shiyan immediately decided to kick away his cheating fiancé and make this man his partner.

***

The crown prince’s fiancé, Qi Shiyan, participated in a live broadcast, attracting the attention of the entire network.

After the live broadcast began, the broadcaster pretended that the spaceship had crashed and sent Qi Shiyan to a very primitive convalescent planet, letting him “survive in the wilderness”.

Everyone was waiting to see a joke. They thought that Qi Shiyan, who was incompetent at everything, would be scared to tears. Unexpectedly, he could hunt and cook. Not only did he live a very comfortable life in the wild, he also raised a man and showed affection.

The key point was, the man he picked up was their powerful emperor who had never been in love and had always been single!

The interstellar people were going crazy.

***

 Reading guide:

  1. The main character is the gong. Mutual pampering. The gong is very strong.

  2. The shou is the emperor and has never been married. The crown prince is not his biological son, but his nephew.

  3. Live broadcast novel with a lot of barrages in the text.

***

One sentence introduction: After his fiancé cheated, he married his uncle.

***

T/N: *This is literally tears (not drool) flowed from the corners of his mouth in the raws, but I felt that was too confusing so I changed it to drool. From my understanding though, it’s written deliberately as tears flowing from the corners of one’s mouth in Chinese to be comical.

I think there will probably be a decent story... Once the author gets all the info dumps out of the way.

Seriously, the first SIX CHAPTERS are the author doing the obligatory "and this is how the MC was wronged" but in excruciating detail and repetition. It's not that it's not interesting, I just want it later, and not in one massive block.

Will update once the plot gets underway (because, heh heh, it couldn't start due to those info dumps).

MTL'd to the end, so that at least tells you that it's... more>> addictive (?).

The info dumps lessen as the story progresses but they're still there. Normally, I don't request a lot from the writing of webnovels, but this one... idk, it was frustrating how the author disrupted the flow of the story with needless exposition.

Beyond that, the story didn't necessarily develop how I was expecting it to, but it left me satisfied overall. I thought

Spoiler

overthrowing the royal family

[collapse]

would be either rushed or dragged out, but everything slotted into place nicely so no complaints there.

I liked both the leads (though to give them both such tragic backstories... it added to their depth but felt a little overdone). I did have trouble believing why the ML was special to the MC though - it's touched upon in the story, but I wasn't entirely satisfied. To put it another way, if the first person the MC met hadn't been the ML, I'm not sure they would have fallen in love? I wanted just a little more.

Overall, despite the info dumps, I enjoyed the story. A good time killer if you have nothing else to read, but don't read this expecting a complicated plot or complex characters. <<less

I just finished reading this, if you're familiar with the author's other work, it's the same formula but that's the charm point ✨

Cute story, it's very similar to the interstellar arc in Hold His Hand, just without the beastmen trope and the MC in this story is just a bit more loveable (imo)

Reading this novel felt like an endurance test rather than an engaging experience. The pacing was agonizingly slow, to the point where even something as simple as removing a skin mask stretched across multiple chapters. Two to three entire chapters just for that! It's baffling how such a minor event was dragged out unnecessarily, making it feel like a chore rather than a compelling moment in the story.

One of the greatest strengths of a well-written story is its ability to engage the reader's imagination, allowing them to piece things together... more>> on their own. This novel, however, does the exact opposite. It spoon-feeds information to the reader, leaving little room for interpretation or independent thought. Every detail is overexplained, and every possible mystery is laid out plainly before the reader even has a chance to wonder about it. This not only diminishes any sense of intrigue but also makes the reading experience feel passive rather than immersive.

A good story should respect its readers' intelligence, providing just enough clues to allow them to theorize and speculate while keeping some elements open-ended. Instead, this book insists on spelling everything out, making it feel like the author doesn't trust the audience to connect the dots. This over-explanation takes away any sense of challenge or discovery, which is a crucial part of what makes reading enjoyable.

The slow pacing and excessive exposition made it incredibly difficult to stay invested in the story. I kept waiting for something significant to happen, for the narrative to finally pick up, but every time it seemed like the plot was about to gain momentum, another unnecessary detour would slow everything down again. This pattern repeated itself throughout the book, making it feel more like a slog than a thrilling experience.

This novel fails to engage the reader on multiple levels. It drags out simple actions, stuffs unnecessary details into every chapter, and refuses to allow the audience any space to think for themselves. While I appreciate detailed storytelling when done right, this was a case of too much information at the wrong moments, making the entire experience frustrating rather than enjoyable. If the goal of a novel is to captivate and transport its readers into another world, this one completely missed the mark. Instead of drawing me in, it left me feeling disconnected, disengaged, and, quite honestly, bored to death. <<less

Protagonist (gong) is early 20s and the Male Lead (shou) is almost 40. They have a physical age gap of 16 or 17 years and a mental one of at least 18 (even before considering that the protagonist had his emotional growth stunted by his harsh childhood). The Male Lead is just as childish during the early plot due to poison reaching his brain. The character growth after the two run around the forest showing off the love of elementary school chickens (even to a poor tiger) is well done.... more>> The pair are similar in values after similar growth experiences. They both worked hard to save people from a young age and often failed. Still, they never gave up. They meet as one who just died and one who is about to die and their bond snaps into place upon first sight. They give each other something neither had and truly grow stronger as a unit.

The protagonists are a bit overpowered, but thankfully the interstellar insects are also not too weak. This means the plot is not all butterflies and rainbows, although it is still lighthearted enough that war casualties all happen in the background and do not get described in detail. I laughed through most of this book and quite enjoyed it. <<less

Actual rating: 3.5 stars

Nice premise, I like the archetypes of the characters, but the execution isn’t that good. The dragging extras don’t help the rating either, dropping it from 4 to 3.5.

Overall a good crack-fluff story for downtime in between heavier (plot/emotional) novels, enjoyable at the moment but wouldn’t read again.

I won't rate as I only made it to chapter 6 before dropping.

6 chapters in and pretty much nothing has happened. Like another reviewer has said, it's a big information dump. I could deal w8th that on its own but the information is repetitive, the author seems to need to explain the same thing multiple times in different ways and it just drags.

I'm not a fan of the format either as it's very live stream barrage heavy. I don't mind barrage content in novels, I love gaming and live stream... more>> novels, but it's a bit much here. A whole chapter will pass where the MC is present for a couple of paragraphs then the bulk of the chapter is split between information dump of the past and barrage chat which doesn't achieve anything,

The logic is another issue. I won't spoiler this as its in the first 6 chapters, the MC comes from an apocalyptic world where humans had almost died out by the time he was born, he was living off expired canned food, yet he knew how to check over an escape pod and electrical devices? The logic doesn't quite add up. Plus the explanation with his cousin. The og characters parents died when he was crying out for food, at this point it hasn't given an age but you would assume it is safe to say he's probably a baby or toddler based on the description. The cousin is 4 years older yet apparently was posting on social media about the og from when they took him in. Age-wise this would only make sense if the cousin was a teenager but then the og would need to be at least 9 or 10 when his parents his died. But this may be cleared up in later chapters if an age is given, just the info we have now isn't great.

Basically, I found the intro boring, repetitive, and confusing. It may get better in later chapters but I won't be sticking around to find out. <<less

Enjoyable story that picks up after about a dozen chapters. But those first few chapters are a bit torturous. I thought the other commenter was exagerating because the first 2 chapters were fine but as soon as what would be a normal setup was finished the auther just kept interjecting what seemed like new attempts to setup the story every few paragraphs. Thankfully, it does eventually end so I suggest future readers to just skim the unnecessary, insanely repetitive background dumps. By chapter 16 you're ready to actually enjoy the... more>> story. <<less

I give up. Story is really not bad, but the execution ain't it. Like other comments have pointed out, there is a lot of repetition in the early chapters.

My main issue was with the love stream. Besides having the MC filmed without his knowledge or consent, the emperor is also live broadcasted to the entire galaxy (universe?). He is convalescing on the planet, not in his right mind, and physically deformed cause of his illness. Yet, when the army? discovers this stream, they somehow allow it to continue, exposing the... more>> emperor's weakness to anyone with internet access.

At the point I bailed, they were trying to make it out to be cute, but I've obviously failed to grasp this absurdity. Ppl are being filmed and broadcasted in extremely vulnerable states without their permissions, and one of em is a f*cking emperor?! How is this ok?

And they also mentioned that the enemy worms, who are intelligent, can also figure out that whereabouts of the injured soldiers, and possibly attack them cause of the broadcast. You'd think that they'd shut it off then... nope. I skipped ahead several chapters to see if/when they'd stop having an audience... they don't. The author carries the audience all the way through.

I could have dealt with the subpar story telling, cause its a simple, enjoyable premise and you can just turn off your brain; or even the constant repetitions, cause I can just skip paragraphs; But this live audience...I just can't get past it.

So recommend as a mid story to pass your time, but if you're struggling by chapter 10, then just move on to another story. It's not worth the frustration <<less

Cute little story. I don't get why someone would rate this by only one star. I mean at least the translation and world building should get some extra points.

To be honest, this novel has one great weakness in my opinion and that is the repeating information. The writer let you see the same scene through the different eyes. Like first a part played out in original, then you get the reaction from ML which is repeating the story in his mind and then you will have the same from... more>> the live stream crowd. It does not happen all the time but too often to be ignored.

On the bright side, MC and ML are really likable. Their communication is OK with one tiny exception... their real identity, but that won't have much of an impact.

The world building is nice and all in all reasonable in is own way. The story has a light and fun undertone, although the world is kind of in chaos.

I was really entertained and would recommend it. You should not hope for a complicated and full of intrigue story, it's more of a warm "desert". I like it. <<less

A novel that had an interesting idea but executed in a very boring way.

The main problem is that the people of the world are incredibly idiotic. They're told propaganda against the original owner of the body and so hate him and then are given the same kind of propaganda so the MC is whitewashed without even lifting a finger. The 'good guys' and 'bad guys' use the same tactics and are blindly believed by the public who start condemning and cancelling whoever is now hated. And the legitimate bad stuff... more>> the original owner did is deliberately ignored. It doesn't help that the author has a bad habit of repeating information over multiple chapters so you're bored because the story keeps pausing for the info dumps. There is also such woobifying of the original MC that it's uncomfortable to read. He was not a child, he was 21. And yet the people defending him talk about it like he's permanently 4 years old and is incapable of thinking for himself. Yes he had a cold childhood but it doesn't explain or excuse his behaviour. Or his inability to think even slightly logically about himself, his situation, anything. A young child or teenager I can understand to an extent, but trying to tell me that a 21 year old didn't know 'bullying is wrong' is too much to bear. The novel treats you like an idiot like the general public within the novel.

Despite the transmigrated MC having an interesting backstory, he stays the exact same type of silly and sweet and because he's OP, he doesn't think too deeply about anything and just wins, making it boring after 30 chapters of the same thing. The final battle was slightly interesting but MC just used the exact same tactic THREE TIMES and was fine while some nameless background characters died to show how hard it was. Not a single one in the main supporting cast got even an ouchie despite being the vanguard. I dropped around the extras because it was enough. <<less

This one was pretty fun to read.

Spoiler

MC is from Earth but this Earth is not a great Planet to live because it is poisoned/radioactive or something like that so people there live very poorly because their health deteriorate. At a time like this MC borns. He has a healing power so heals the people around him but unfortunately the environment is bad so everyone except MC dies. MC lives 6 more years and he dies too. After that he reincarnates into a military hero's son. If I omit some more plot (I'm kinda tired of writing) He is basically being broascasted live in another Planet without his knowledge. He is sent there as a accident (or it is shown like accident) Anyways he came across ML in there. Their all lovely dovelty actions are broascasted live which is pretty funny because even ML's friends know the situation but instead of stopping it he keeps that.

Well don't get me wrong because it is also for ML's sake because he is poisoned from figting insects and MC has healing powers and heals him so ML's friend wants to keep an eye for him and MC.

Anyways written more than expected. I enjoyed reading it. Pretty sweet and fun. <<less

(english is not my first language so pls excuse my grammar 💜)

It's not that bad but it's not that good either. Still, kudos for the translator for translating this story. 💜 this is just my opinion. Pls don't attack me 🙏🏻

I'm sorry but, Mc's behavior is kinda making me uncomfortable. Especially that part when ML and him first met. I know he has skin hunger syndrome but I still find it uncomfortable when he (mc) started kissing ml's hand when he (ml) is being delirious because of the poison.... more>> It feels like ML is being taking advantage of by MC. That's the reason I feel so uncomfortable reading that part. I mean, I'm kinda ok if MC just hold ml's hands but him (mc) kissing his (ml) hand without consent is a no for me (it's when ML is still delirious and he still not clear minded). '◡' I know that MC have developed that illness because he's all alone in his past life. Nobody will still have his sanity if you're all alone for a decade. So yeah.. I both understand him and also not. It's not just the mc's behavior making me uncomfortable, it's all of them, actually. I don't really know what to feel about this story.

It's still a fun read though. So if you want to read this, go for it. Don't mind my review, it's just my preference. Anyway, happy reading :) <<less

Finally done with the novel, I had mixed feelings about it at the start until the end, but the extras managed to clear my mind and give this novel a 5 Stars! The explanation regarding the mysterious live broadcast thing was understandable, though I really feel like the reasons behind it feels a bit lacking. How did the MC not detect the live broadcasting device on him at all if he has a very high mental power?

Spoiler

For the record, he has a mental power higher than 3S.

[collapse]

Same with the ML, they're both really powerful, and if he somehow didn't even detect the live broadcasting device attached to the MCs body, especially since they lived in that planet for days, then thats probably one of the best monitoring devices ever created. Or maybe the characters just have a tendency to being unable to locate cameras, broadcasting devices, and whatnot (iykyk).

Also the misunderstandings. I love misunderstandings but some of them became a little bit tiring. Such as the misunderstanding about the ML's identity, which felt a little irritating on my side (this happened later on, it was amusing at the start). And the MLs worried impression that the MC wont like him after revealing it. Which is, very much understandable, but I hate it resulted into that (though I'm rather happy the MC ended up learning about it later and even being impressed by the MLs identity).

One more thing... the audience. They're really gullible and cute, but definitely not cute at the start. Sending someone death threats is NOT okay. They also really easily believe things, as I said earlier. Good or bad later on, they can be quite annoying (actually, I don't even like them all that much even when they became nicer, just a little bit).

But other than those small complaints, the reason I rated it higher than my initial 4 Stars is because of the cute extras at the end! Also! The MC and ML became fully open and honest with one another at the end, which canceled out the misunderstandings and even got some bonus parts on my favour! Also the fact they have such a sweet relationship at the start (well, specifically when the ML doesn't get delirious anymore).

Spoiler

The one where they were both reborn. I love it so much, it's so cute! A little questionable at the start when I learnt the MC became a little baby, but he turned out to be reborn too and contains all his memories. The misunderstandings there are a little funny but understandable considering only the reader is aware of this and that. And also I love the other wholesome part where the MC and ML spent their honeymoon in the Chaotic Zone to make that area a better place.

And the fact they had a wedding, and lived happily ever after until they're basically a hundred years old. Well, the ML was the hundred years old guy, the MC, judging by the age gap, is roughly 80. Speaking of age-gaps, it was not too much of a bother and not too centralized either to become a problem, but it is a bit concerning for me. However, the fact that the ML is a silly, delirious guy at the start made me a little calmer. Though I shouldn't since he was severely poisoned that time.

I love how the ML fell in love with the MC next and decided to accept his demise and decided to give the MC his money and have a friend take care of him, after learning of the MCs confession and feeling the same way (well, not initially) despite the MCs promise to heal him. It's so cute.

He's also quite tolerant of the MCs initial skin hunger syndrome that gradually recovered over time so don't worry. But MCs skin hunger syndrome at the start was very serious.

[collapse]

So, yeah. I recommend you check this novel out! It's super cute, super simple, and not intended to be taken seriously. Not the 'best' novel out there but worth checking out. However, if this novels just not for you, then don't push yourself! But for those who love this kind of novel, I highly recommend it!

Oh and as another reviewer commented, theres no drama here since it all resolves itself on its own. And this novels best aspects are its silliness, cuteness, fluffiness, and foodie-ness! <<less

This novel is very light hearted and very sweet, no drama as it resolves itself on its own, we mostly follow love story and some silliness. It is written by the same author as “Stone Age Husband Raising Journal” so expect main character being seme/gong and him being foodie (I love her for that xD).

I’ve only known Qi Shiyan for 72 chapters, but if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself. - Brooklyn 99 meme reference and exactly how I felt while reading... more>> this novel xD Main character is such a lovable sweetheart with his own mental problems which he acknowledges being weird and tries to control. I guess the only concern might be the ages between MC and ML (gong is younger, shou is older). However, humans in this novel setting live up to 300 years plus ML (Ming Zheng) doesn’t agree at first due to the same sentiment (and him dying due to poison) so only after making sure they become a couple (our MC was very persistent and don’t worry he is legal adult).

Love story was swift, but very lovable, real fast read to ease your tired heart. <<less

This novel is like a mixture of several pieces of the author's other novels, seriously! The live transmission part was an arc before in "Hold His Hand" and the zerg and the apocalypse in "Beloved Husband" and so on, plus the style is exactly the same in all those novels... but opposite What you might think, that doesn't bother me, I like his writing style and I like his stories even if they are repetitive, so this novel is my favorite, plus the protagonist of this novel is a little,... more>> just a little different from the of the author's others in the sense that he is very crazy! 🤣🤣🤣 I quite liked that part, it was actually fun to read his obsession with living people! I still laugh when I remember it! For that reason alone I give it a 5/5 <<less
