I definitely love this type of development. Setting aside that its kinda cliche, but the story is super cute and fluffy. I would recommend this to people who like light and progressive stories.

I also love the translation. (Just came from a crappy tn, this is refreshing)

The translation is not bad.

The story is good. Everyday life. These is not summary but real novel. Usually the author only wrote a very long background almost look like another novel insidr novel. But these is not. These just like a drama story.

I love the male lead. He was spoiling the female lead. Although he was crippled but he can taking care his wife.

Can't wait to read the new chapters. Thank you translator for your hardwork.

I actually enjoyed this stories so much. ML is not a rich man or a prince. I like that they slowly got to know each other and respect they have for one and other. Would recommend this story to anyone who likes this kind of story.

I already read this ever since I finished reading 'Dudu's Diary'.

This story is soo good. I love the chemistry between the MC and ML. It only focuses on the MC's make-up journey and raising the father and son.

It's a slice of life generally, but I really love the extras on this story.

Good, light read. Enjoyable as long as you do not take it too seriously. The only things that through me off were certain points that were unrealistic and the way their attitude towards s*x was portrayed.

Spoiler
  • The design of the toilet was really not feasible as it's pretty much a portapotty that would not be emptied. It would've been better if they just didn't go into it in as much detail. The usage of the beauty cream and the way the FL didn't have to wake up many times during the night to feed her newborn baby were also totally unrealistic.
  • Males are portrayed as obsessed by s*x, while the ladies dislike it but have to do it since it's their duty as a wife.

I like the FL but ghad the ML was so weak willed. If I were the FL, I can stay if he's cripple or ugly but if he can't stand for me I'll leave.

It’s cute slice of life story with FL without any golden fingers and no incredible cooking skills. Both FL and ML are very ordinary but still manage to grow rich. I liked how the FL was resourceful. The male lead was completely devoted to the FL without the domineering president vibe. I like this kind of ML, no s*upid pride but still manage to appear manly. Also no 3rd party in the story which I really liked. Refreshing compared to other transmigrating in ancient China type of novel.

Eh... It's hard to get into this one.

Money seems to be a non issue no matter how poor they are. They are left with nothing (or so I'm led to believe) after shouldering a huge debt from a useless brother but they can still buy meat, wine, eggs and 200+ wooden boxes to start a business? The ML has a starving son and a vampire family but still manages to spend all his money to buy the FL, doesn't even react when she tries to kill herself and still gives... more>> her all his freaking money that she SPENDS ON HERSELF and he... has no opinion??? It's fine to be spineless (actually it isn't, but that's another issue), but, like... You're about to starve, shouldn't you care a little bit?

They never care because they are never in real danger. The good food they buy is eaten by the vampire family and it's fine, it's cool, we can just buy it again and maybe try not to share next time.

It can barely be considered a rag to riches when money seems to be an infinite resource from the start. <<less

The novel is good. At first part of the novel, it already made me want to punch and beat up Wang Cuihua. This made me so emotional. Even the mother of ML is so irritable. I can only cry for MC's grievance. She only knew how to do make-up and how to make perfume yet ML's family is taking advantage of it. At first I don't know why ML tolerate his family too much, since he change and won't let MC be aggrieved I'll forget that happened.

The middle part is... more>> slow paced. It's quite boring since it's there's nothing going on. Only making business to earn money for ML's leg treatment. And harassment from Zhang Zeshi! Wth is he doing? MC is already married yet he keeps following MC. Why don't he keep going on brothel since it's their job to entertain.

I love the last part. The story was simple but beautiful. It's realistic for except for the transmigration of course.

Thank you for translating! <<less

The sweetness of this transmigration story cannot be denied. The humble peasant beginnings of our leads slowly flow into a unique moneymaking business not seen often in transmigrate into the past storylines. It has the same plot armor as most money making stories do but if you have even a tiny interest in the topic you'll be engaged the whole story through.

The characterization is good. The setting can feel thin at times despite the author taking time to build up their environment. Our MC is pragmatic and decent. Her ML... more>> is very unique for any romance novel. He's simple, honorable, quiet, and listens. Actually LISTENS. I can not stress enough how refreshing that is. This story also shows an MC actively embracing their adopted child and valuing them as their true child.

The villains are shallow, fairly one note and disappear once their job is done. They also arent destroyed just because they crossed the MC and her people. They have reasonable consequences for their actions and live on. That was also very refreshing.

While this story is in no way realistic the actual character interactions and decision making are less mind bogglingly pointlessly dog blood than almost any other fan translated chinese web novel I've read.

If you enjoy a soft pace, little drama, adorable child rearing, woman being friends to each other and supporting each other, a ML whose obsessive adoration of the MC isnt shown by trying to control her and business deals than I recommend this as a fantastic palette cleanser. <<less

For romance-seeker like me this is boring 😂

The romance only ⅓, this more like how to thriving on live & business

FL & ML so good together ❤ no misunderstanding, no dog blood drama, no 3rd person

This was a guide to become rich in ancient times, and those theories about make up made me dizzy 😅

So yeah this was happy ending.

Pretty good story overall.

Very enjoyable poor-to-rich, leveling-up novel. The focus is the MC; MC has a ton of awesome ideas and business sense and also treats people well. MC's husband supports her in her endeavors.

There are pretty reasonable challenges. And ML's family basically gets lost after the first few annoyances (no fear). Personally the romance was fine for me, and the focus was on the MC's business which I liked.

There were a few dropped plotlines ... more>>
Spoiler

MC sold a jade pendant, there was a shopkeeper who wanted to marry MC, and then there was original MC's wealthy family who never showed up or were mentioned.

Funny thing, MC's kids all seem to be webnovel protagonists themselves

Spoiler

Son marries the FL apprentice of a miracle doctor (was rescued from poison in the mountains). Daughter marries top general cold-faced ML.

Translation is edited MTL. It's ok, but lots of mixed up terms and even pronouns (he/she). <<less

The story is really cute and charming. There is no major drama in the story. I also like the fact that although it is set in ancient times, the setting revolves upon commoners. It's a classic rags to riches story. Recommended!

A really chill and easy read. Its your standard slice-of-life story focusing on the everyday life and journey of our ordinary couple to rise from their poverty stricken life. I like the MC's mentality, she is clever and business savy but also kind, warm and loving. Love that our leading couple's love was developed over time starting with mutual respect, then companionship to love. I especially love Xiaobao, he is such an adorable little bun. Someone comented that he was too nice & obedient as a child that its unrealistic... more>> but I have to disagree cuz considering the ab*se he got from his previous caretakers, its not stange that he grew to be timid (like his first appearance) and scared to disobey, its retty understandable how he came to love Li Mo so much. Anyways, it was an enjoyable read. 8/10 <<less

It's so refreshing to read "time travel to ancient era" story without an OP MC, some prince as ML, scheme in the harem, or political conflict in the background. Different from most of other MC in the same genre, MC was reborn as s*ave that was bought by ML out of pity. ML was just a former soldier who turned into cripple (temporarily) after going to war and had no choice other than to go back to his village. He didn't have a good time after going back and because... more>> of his crippled leg, he was forced to separate from the family and had to live through farming and done an odd job.

In their first meeting, I was determined that I will love their characters so much. Although ML bought MC with all of his savings, he didn't force MC to stay. Meanwhile, MC knew that woman couldn't survive alone in ancient era without a family or a husband so she chose to stay with ML even she had to his wife. This is what I love about MC. She was rational and logical person.

Spoiler

You could see her rationality in her daily life and also when she had to make a decision that will determine her future. In one scene, she was offered to become a dedicated beautician for a concubine in the capital. Although her family will be compensated with a lot of money, she rejected the offer because it meant she will become a servant again and her life or death will be determined by her master. She will also be separated from her family for who knew how long. Even when she was under a torture, she still firmly refused to comply.

MC also got a chance to have a better life by marrying a wealthier merchant but she still chose to be with ML because she knew that there will be no other man that treated her as well as ML.

Her rationality was also showed when she chose her daughter's future husband. She knew that a general's grandson (Sima Feiyu) loved her daughter for many years but she was adamant to choose a husband from a humble family because she was afraid that her daughter will be bullied if she was married to a noble family without an equal family background. "Love will conquer all" was rarely happened in the feudal ancient era and MC knew it well. She chose to be a bad guy for her daughter's future happiness. Fortunately, Feiyu made an effort to separate from his family and MC's daughter was also determined to marry no other than Feiyu so the matter was settled peacefully.

[collapse]

MC was also not an OP character who had a superpower, system, or many knowledges. She only knew how to do make up and beauty routine. But she could made the most of it and turned her only knowledge into money that could improved her family's condition.

As for ML, he wasn't a chauvinist man who thought that man was above the woman and so on. He was very supportive of MC's business and even helped her without a care of getting a reputation as a useless husband who relied on her wife for a living. He also often helped MC with house chores and many other things. He also wasn't a weak man that couldn't protect his family. It was showed when he chose to sever ties with his toxic family because they kept bothering his family over and over again.

MC and ML didn't instantly fall in love with each other at the first sight but MC didn't despise ML because of his condition and willingly tried to slowly accept him. On the other hand, ML was also ready to let her go whenever she wished for it because he knew he wasn't good enough for MC. I love how the author took her/his time to nurture the feeling between MC and ML. The growth of their feeling and their relationship's development were so natural and didn't happen abruptly.

This novel mainly focused on MC doing her business but it was also more than that. We could see the process of how MC balanced between her job and her family. She also made time to teach her children a common knowledge between her busyness and sucessfully brought her children to be a scholar and businesswoman respectively. In other words, this is such a heartwarming story that was worth to read. <<less

Dropping this @c24

I guess the story is just not my cup of tea. I've always been a sucker of reincarnation/transmigration plots that mostly takes place in modern times. I also like a couple of stories with the same plot that takes place in ancient times but I like it more on a lighter tone. This one feels serious and the in-laws just stress me out.

The translation quality is also... the pronouns are misused and a bit of grammatical errors are showing. I still suggest to read a bit to check... more>> if it's fine for you. <<less

Generic Transmigrator uses modern knowledge to lift her family out of poverty.

Summary on spoiler.

Spoiler

Our Protagonist was a makeup artist who died in a plane crash. When she wakes up in Li Mo's body she discovers that the original owner of the body was a maid in a rich family who was sold to the s*ave market by her former owner when she realized that the maid and her son had impure intentions towards each other.

Lin Mo, then ended up in a remote village where an old man tried to buy her. Attracted by Lin Mo's desperate screams upon discovering who bought her, our ML appears, he then buys Lin Mo to save her from the situation intending to let her go. But our MC decides that she won the bargain, in one fell swoop she now has a husband and a cute son, so she decided to stay.

And from here on out, you'll find all the points on the Chinese historical author's checklist; Shameless money hungry family, Modern knowledge that makes everyone lose their pants, etc etc.

[collapse]

To be honest, I didn't like this novel, which is a shame because I was really in the mood for a poor-to-rich novel.

The novel isn't terrible, but I got bored very early on. It suffers from the problem of some slice-of-life novels that are too slow, without the small scenes that are rewarding or that touch you in some way. In this novel, there is no reward for the reader for having to go through several chapters of acclimatization to the word, people or MC's plans.

The protagonist is a reasonable and talented woman, but her personality is practically nonexistent besides that and I don't feel like knowing more about her. The same can be said about the plot. I feel that, apart from getting out of the extreme poverty of the first chapters, there is no incentive for the reader to continue the story when it finds itself in a point of slow development.

The relationship with the ML could be, but it is not an incentive since this one is the most boring ML I have ever read. And this is coming from someone who hates Yandere, or complicated romance. My taste is already considered boring by other people, imagine if they saw this ML. The kids are cute, but from what I've read, they're rarely the focus, with one or two comments in one chapter or another.

The business and how it will develop is interesting, but because I couldn't get attached to any of the characters, and the rest of the story didn't convince me, I felt it wasn't worth going through several boring chapters until a significant development. Maybe it got better later, but for me, it wasn't worth the boredom.

I think in short I can say that this story doesn't stimulate the reader enough to make up for the slow pace. And that's not because it's a slice-of-life, but because the story lacks emotion and interesting points.

That said, it's probably strange of me, since I came here to say that I didn't like the novel, but I think this is a good recommendation for those who have recently started reading historical c-novels.

It avoids some mistakes of this type of plot, such as an absurd number of family members that forces you to write a list of characters to remember everyone. Or an exaggeratedly fast pace in which the MC solves all the problems immediately after arriving in the new world. Or even when none of the characters find it strange that a ten-year-old girl has an empire and is flirting with a prince. <<less

Quite an interesting concept and realistic in the sense that not everyone has amazing cooking skills when they transmigrate. Was a light read but I wish there was more face slapping. Good choice if you are looking for a story with little to no drama.
