The fact that it's fan-fiction has its benefits, but also drawbacks.

Initially this seemed to be a simple reincarnation into the League of Legends universe, basically with the added feature "actually the strongest character is Sett's mother". It has the hallmarks of a typical isekai story with a protagonist lacking common sense "I got this strong, but it's another world so surely others must be even stronger".

And so she works hard for the sole purpose of protecting Sett and providing a happy and nurturing environment for him, and in that process... more>> she meets a bunch of other LoL champions, basically during the prequel phase of the story.

But at some point the author must have run out of ideas, or simply got bored of restricting it to LoL and haphazardly introduced elements from other universes and references to Japanese anime / novels, such as No Game No Life and Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon, as well as the Star Guardian plot line and others.

I could vaguely keep up with the LoL references by occasionally looking up a character's backstory if I wasn't already aware, but at this point it's getting too much for me.

I was hoping for a story that has a somewhat serious plot of raising her son and seeing him grow up well (or basically according to the lore of growing up in fighting pits and taking over the underworld, but hiding it from his mother), with situational humour and including some of the occasional OP protagonist stuff, without actually intervening in the lore (or in some cases becoming the reason that things went the way they did). And maybe to some extent that's still going on, but there's too much other stuff on top.

I will point out that the story works even if you don't know the characters, as most people will be introduced to some extent, but having prior knowledge does help. <<less

Too early to tell whether this story is good or not yet.

Worth mentioning that the "LOL" in the title is League of Legends.

Storywise, main character was a guy who really appreciated his single mother who worked so hard for him and showed him so much affection. Wanting to do whatever he could to repay her.

He then is killed somehow, and in his dying thoughts felt regret over not meeting his goals and even bringing more hardship/suffering on his mom by dying early. He then wishes that if there is a... more>> next life, that he could be someone like his mother.

Monkey paw occurs, and he awakes as a pregnant woman, and shortly after discovering this fact, goes into labor, with this hilarious line:

in the world of league of legends. He got exactly what he wished on his deathbed.

So he she resolves to make the most of things, and raise her son to the best she can like her mom before.

Anyways, my initial thoughts are this could be a really good gem of a story, or could be pretty bad (possibly even the category of so bad it becomes good again). The bold choice of a ts isekai into being a mom in the world of LoL has me lean towards this story having potential.

It is worth noting I have minimal knowledge of lol lore, consisting of pre retcon lore from original story (summoner era), and gameplay voicelines in present game. So I cannot say whether the use of LoL so far is positive or negative.

I am anticipating next chapter to see how author writes the results of MC deciding to do the Saitama workout plan. It should cement what kind of story author I going for. <<less
