This book feels like it takes a lot from others that I've seen, of a character surviving in another world becoming really skilled and then coming back and playing VR. I would say it has a pretty interesting concept, with the gimmick being that the MC always wants a sword by their side, and I think it was a good idea how they somewhat gave the MC trauma where she can't calm down without her sword.

With that being said, the execution of this book feels very terrible to me. Aspects... more>> like her gender changing literally affect nothing, where at least currently at most its just mentioned that her ID changed, but if she was just female from the start it would have changed nothing, making me wonder why it's even added.

The actual story itself is just chaotic and feels like it was not thought out. She has trauma and needs to hold a weapon, that works, but it feels more like its being used as a joke then a trait of the MC. When she gets a VR machine she can't take the knife in with her so she just tapes it to the machine, where at least to me it's implied her trauma is because at a moments notice she may need to fight for her life. It feels like she shouldn't feel secure with that, since it would not be instantly accessible, and since it feels like its the author just trying to create a gimmick it makes the story feel more artificial and makes it hard to be invested.

On that note, a lot more obvious issues is how forced the plot feels. She happens to have no food, and then happens to see VR at a convenient store, she happens to decide to try the lottery and happens to win. It all just feels kind of forced, and while there may be an explanation later in the series it just feels very forced and immersion breaking. Although part of this is probably because other series have just solved this part a lot better by having VR be a government issued item or having the character already possess a capsule for various reasons.

The game itself also just feels very low effort and confusing. A lot of the details seem to just change arbitrarily without any rhyme or reason. When MC logs in it's a gacha for your job class, yet then this seems to be a ranked competitive team game? Maps can apparently make playing as a ranged character impossible, a single player can kill 50 people in a row, etc. Where the mechanics and style of the game just feel like they make no sense.

Overall, it just feels like another version of this trope that's feels poorly done. There are a lot others out there like This isn't a self harm broadcast or Former hero, Solo play oriented that just feel a bit better done. <<less
