Our protagonist refused to sleep with the young princess. His reasoning is difference of status, but if he's asked to do it with his crush princess, then the result would be different. This is why I don't understand the logic. At the beginning of the story, it's mentioned that he like (or admire) the young princess.

Our protagonist also fine to have s*x with other females despite after s*x, he'd think of his cruch princess. If the gender is reversed then this story should already be consider ntr, and the female lead in this story would be call an easy b*tch easily.

Worst is when caught red hand (not from the heroine herself) he denied he had s*x with his childhood friend. If protagonist is someone who like double-dating many women or he's evil by nature, that's still explain why he deny, but the story portray him as pure and childish despite being a knight grow up alone without a family. These weird logic make me rate this novel so low, because reading a novel, self-immersion is important. Any weird logic is an immersion breaking.
