A Sanctuary Unknown to Our Classmates: The Sharp-Tongued, Reclusive Girl and Me

I moved into a new house.

Determined to start fresh, I pulled open the curtains in my new room—only to be met with the sight of a girl in nothing but her underwear.

“—WhaaaAAAT!?!”

Letting out a panicked, undignified scream, she scrambled to hide herself. Her name was Mikage Sumino, a classmate of mine. Like me, she was an outcast, isolated from the rest of the class.

And so, little by little, our interactions began, subtly shifting the rhythm of my daily life.

It wasn’t love—of course not. She was simply the only person around, nothing more… Or so I told myself.

But eventually, I would come to understand.

The only one who could truly understand me was someone just like me.

This is the story of two loners drawn together, creating a sanctuary of their own.

(Apologies in advance as English isn't my first language and this is my first time writing a review this long)

Its like a breath of fresh air in the scene with beautiful girls and overpowered protagonists that the current light-novel/web-novel scene scene to be dominated by.

The protagonists are just a pair of dork, both social outcast but for lighter reasons than one would usually come to expect from such novels. The relationship between the main characters seem to progress at a pretty realistic pace as well, and as of... more>> the time of writing this review the protagonists have become slightly conscious of each other as potential romantic interests with about 1 month of time passing through the story. The main characters naive and anxious nature makes it so that you can't help but root for them when ever they show courage to take a step forward towards their relationship.

Its a fluffy read with some "normal" protags and a pretty good one at that, fully deserving a 4/5. I sadly couldn't give it a 5/5 cause while the novel does give the main protags a lot of character development, it doesn't proceed to show any other characters in the story at all. After a while of reading you seemingly forget that other characters even exist and when one of them shows up its a weird feeling like "who even is this?", but that might be fleshed out in the later chapters. <<less
