As the translator, I'm going to write about what I think about this Fanfic/Web novel...

from what I'm reading in ahead around 40 chapter something ?? the game elements only on the first 4 chapter and then the world is just like normal world only with the addition of kaiju, etc...

and what I like about this MC I think he, not a one dimension character... in his journey, he complements a lot of why he must do it for the reason of becoming the light itself (hope, etc.) so. I... more>> hope you enjoy this as I do. <<less

Update: the translator changed. It's still not great, but it good enough to read. This is a pretty good novel. I forgot to update this a long time ago, but now that I have the chance I will. This is actually decent. I love the fanfiction aspect (I'm actually going on a hunt for more fanfics cuz I enjoy it).

*sighs* I'm not a fan of rating a story based on the translation, but this translation is incorrigible. I believe a majority of the one star ratings are because of the unreadable translations and not the story itself (which I don't usually approve of, but for this I completely understand)

I applaud that the translator put out this story for us to see, but it doesn't appear as if the tlr tried at all to edit it for our understanding and convenience. *sighs again* please get an editor or try fixing the formatting issues.

This is a surprisingly good novel... I'm someone who often scoffs at these fanfiction novels... although every once in a blue, blue moon pops up a fantastic read written by someone who is at least a decent writer that respects and loves the original material and doesn't get carried away by the things deemed popular in CN WN...

Anyway... this novel is about a young man that gets transported into an alternate world that doesn't have the Ultraman tokusatsu series and is thrust upon the role (appearance and powers) of Ultraman... more>> Zero... and as Zero he now has to defend the earth from villains from the Ultra series...

As someone who loves tokusatsus of every kind, I found that the way the story... and the arcs unfold are closely reminiscent of a toku show, and that is what's great about this series: it's a well-written tokusatsu and not the usual power trip and face-slapping i've seen on other fanfics...

I love how on his very first few fights he realizes there is no time for poses and that he must fight seriously... and I specially liked how reality hits him and he slowly must man up and accept his role as defender of earth... <<less

Poorly translated.

The MC is one of those hesitant to take action types even though he knows he's humanity's strongest person atm. Also knowing if he doesn't take action people including those he loves and himself would eventually die.

He likes some girl and knows that as Ultraman the aliens will come for him first so the aliens always appear near him and even though he knows this he stays with that girls family. If he really cared about their safety he would leave them behind and go elsewhere.

China in this story... more>> is apparently all powerful in many ways and often it seems China is fighting the monsters more than the MC. China is often referred to as one of the 3 strongest countries in the world. Pffft. Okay. Often referring to itself as a super country. It also has the most advanced weapons and technology in the world apparently. I felt like this was the Chinese version of Wakanda. Most of what they say about China is pure fiction.

I seriously can't read much further. I wasn't a huge fan of Ultraman as it is thinking it was not only childish but poorly done on tv. Looked like power rangers only worse. This story is actually worse than Ultraman imo. I only started reading this in hopes that it would take out most of the bad and put it better material. Nope. <<less

Translation Quality : I dare not claim that my translation's quality is very good, but it at least is passable.

Story : It is realistic. If you want to read the Ultraman story with more realistic setting, then this probably suit you. The death is real. This novel emphasized on the side which most of TV show did not. It showed the cruelty of the monsters, the tragedy of the war,... more>> the helplessness of ordinary people, the bravery of a few.

Character : the MC was just ordinary people. So his reactions toward all of this at the beginning might not look good but were reasonable. He also showed many character development in the early chapters.
