I gave this 5/5 because the story is nicely written, easy to read and don't have unnecessary drama. It's a good read for a short story.

Now please, please don't be discourage on the r*pe tag and open your heart because they were forced into the situation. I know it's typical plot but it's still a plot lol.

The ML is the embodiment of someone patient, polite, considerate and generous, srsly nothing of flaw to throw at all but not a saint ofcrse. He wasn't fussy about the kids origin and I... more>> like that they were friends first b4 they technically became family. On the other hand, we have our MC beta with one strong character, personality, and nature. It's refreshing to see one that's not s*ave of lust and primal instinct when given the event. He is prideful, strong-headed and willed.

Their interactions were natural and raw, their feelings were slowly cultivated, their thoughts rational and composed plus the child is so lovely and clever. It's funny how the child and ML are clingy and there's the annoyed MC that constantly gives in. Idk I'm just in love with their family, plus their extended ones! It's a rough first chapter since MC is assaulted by ML. However the story was written in a way that respects MC who is a victim of it. And the way that both ML and MC also recognize each other helps with recognizing the painful reality that ML had made MC's life harder (even if it's a mistake).

MC's personality is the stundere, however he just have it difficult to express weakness and quite cautious (even before ML tho it did got amplified quite a bit from that night). ML is... more>> what you call a gentleman plus his quite softhearted. He is sincere but knows to make the call when it's needed, thus this appearance is what outsiders other than his family sees.

It is written nicely paced with warm families, struggles of the past and also new found love, and the attention and care to a lovable child in everyday life.

Slow burn love but short chapters so you don't need to wait that long I guess haha. <<less

i don’t think I got far. Honestly around 13-15 before dropping. I wanted to continue cause the premise was interesting enough, and even with the r*pe I could continue it simply because ultimately it wasn’t intentional since it’s abo.

anyway, what mainly stopped me was because:

A) the characters are mad flat and lacking in charm or fully fleshed out personality. They all seem to have a base personality trait without anything more. The MC is Prideful so everything he says and does comes out like a pulling teeth or as if... more>> he’s condescending to speak to them. Then the ML is Serious so everything he says has a very point blank period esque vibe. Like everything he says needs no response or like with no emotion behind it.

B) because I grew fed up (real quick) with the ML and his Karen ways. Regardless of his intentions, it pisses me off that he feels so comfortable telling the MC how to raise his son, the son he’s been raising for 5 years in terribly difficult circumstances mind you. Meanwhile the ML pops up and suddenly knows all things children? I call bullshit

C) it’s unrealistic that the same person who has nightmares of the first time they met doesn’t have any other traumatic responses to seeing him again and that him leaving just boils down to him being prideful.

Anyway, again I didn’t get far but these alone just let me seething honestly and without any positive feelings towards the Ml. And what I did feel for the MC only has to deal with in relation to his son <<less

Definitely a 3.5/5 for me. If you like MCs who aren’t weak minded (maybe even a little b*tchy), this is for you. MC is a beta in a ABO world and gets assaulted by the ML. But the ML had a reason for this lapse:

He had been suppressing his ruts for so long and had gotten drugged by his cousin that when he met the MC he went berserk. ML honestly felt guilty and wanted to damn near sterilize himself because he lost control.

The story moves 5 years in the future with the resulting child. Combine that with a fake marriage and you have this story.

There are a lot of tropes I like but you can tell the author had more to say but ended up cutting the story at 50 chapters. I laughed because the author essentially said “no more babies” to prevent any further confusion with the readers (MC hadn’t been feeling well in the later chapters after some long nights with the ML and I can only assume some readers asked if another baby was on the way).

Overall, it’s a quick read and something that won’t make your heart hurt too much. Very fluffy with a sweet child. <<less

*A straight plot line.. Not much conflict.. No face slapping.. No toxicity.. Also the beta doesn't turn into an omega due to the alpha's strong pheromone.. A genuine Alpha X Beta story..

*It starts with r*pe.. But the ML was drugged.. He is one of the greenest flag ever.. He even searched for the victim for a long time to take responsibility.. ML is sensible, polite, loyal, not like the typical 2D overbearing toxic CEOs..

*MC is a normal beta, grew up with his uncle's family.. He was a... more>> victim of ML's heat and it had traumatised him deeply.. But he was strong..

*MC may come across as a bit irresponsible sometimes, but for a single father who conceived due to r*pe, didn't have financial stability and was at the end of the rope, he tried hard to take care of his child and his family.. He is exactly how common people struggle and stand back up..

*It ended with their second child's birth.. The ending felt incomplete.. <<less

I find this novel quite boring. The problem does not lie with the plot but the characters. One review said that the characters are flat and they were correct. The MC is a tsundere who has a lot of pride due to his common background and identity as a beta. Beyond that, there's nothing else to say about him. Every word that comes out of his mouth is sharp and biting. He can't even say "Thank you" properly. The ML is polite and proper, and that's about it. Due to... more>> their personalities and how flat the author portrayed them, their relationship is quite bland. Nothing pulls you in to continue reading. Maybe it gets better further in the novel, but I'm finding it to be a chore to read.

update: I finished reading it and the novel does get better. The MC finally starts getting out of his comfort zone and is even able to use clues to figure out what the ML is thinking. The ML fell in love with the MC first and reveals his true nature. He becomes clingy, insecure, and loving. So, despite the first half being a bit boring, the later parts of the novel isn't bad. <<less
