The summary might seem generic but the story is very well written. The characters are great and the writing is high quality. I probably won't continue reading the novel though since I've already read most of the manga and the manga translation is so much farther ahead. The novel will probably have more detail but so far they're pretty similar so I can't really enjoy reading this.

so far it seems the manhwa is sticking fairly close to the novel, though this translation is pretty far behind. i'll probably keep reading because there are parts of manhwa that made no sense to me and I want to see if they are explained or presented differently in the story itself. ... more>>

i.e. he enters this demon tomb place and gets this blood arts book in his hand and says it shouldn't exist... then he puts it back and leave after knocking down the temple. of course, someone else finds it in the rubble and there's a big contest over it and the MC eventually grabs the book and burns it in front of everyone, making enemies left and right. it makes no sense because in earlier chapters he found a different book and burnt it as soon as he laid hands on it, showing him to be decisive and proactive yet here he just left it, knowing it was a bad idea for others to get ahold of it. it's completely inconstant with the MCs prior actions and clever, cautious personality and bugs the hell out of me.

English isn't my native language but I wll try what I can do, as someone who read the manga up to now. this is the best novel I have ever read. I first thought this is going to be the same generic MC who is immature despite being a reincarnation who lived long life, but the story proved me wrong, the MC is likeable and mature who knows what to do with plan and ration thinking, and he isn't evil but at the same time he isn't the most boring... more>> righteous MC either. The side characters have their own personality (the merchant, the phoenix girl, the machine boy... etc, my fav lol.) basically this is a novel where you don't have to say 'too evil mc' or 'too good mc', with great plot and epic action. <<less

Aww man, I visit here with the thought maybe I can get a spoiler. But instead, the manhua is more far ahead than the translation 😂😂

Welp, this is a good story and what I like the most is the cause-effects are properly explained. Whereas usually on other novel is just explained as so-so. Not satisfying.

I like the MC's character the most and I hope he will be an ascetic forever (so he won't marry any female in the novel, but the tags worrying me).

Man I’m so glad this is getting translated. This is a Tier 1 story. A good, mature story with a clear and deliberate plot.

Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews and overall high rating on NU. I get the impression that all these guys did not read the full story and only got a glimpse of the squeaky clean beginning.

The beginning of Volcanic Age is really good, but starting from the mid-point of the story, it starts to deteriorate in quality leading to a horrible ending.

There is also a harem, but it's not even done right. Literally no romance throughout the story. Why include it in the first place if you... more>> are not going to fully develop the MC's relationships with the heroines? MC is truly an ascetic in this sense, lol.

The MC doesn't end up marrying or partnering with any of the heroines who actively supported him throughout the story. One of the reasons why the ending was horrible.
