“You should be grateful that I’m marrying an unattractive woman like you!”

A sudden insult was thrown at them at the meeting. The four-year-old Milese Edwardo was a little taken aback, but looked up at her fiancé, Dudley Marx, who was five years older than her. –Stunned.

From then on, every time Dudley scolded her, Milese blinked in confusion. Even if he called her “uneducated,” “lacking common sense,” — even if her sister-in-law became her husband’s mistress.

–It seems sister (my husband’s mistress) is expecting, so I’m divorcing him!

I thought it was a nice story with a nice twist. You can see how the guys assumptions worked to Milese's advantage over the years making the ending a good one. I do wish there was a continuation of her story.

Not bad, but nothing particularly gripping. Just good enough for passing the time.

I do say the story did take a turn that was a bit unexpected for me, but that was it. Writing-wise, the story relied heavily on expositiony-dialogue which did start wearing me out midway through. I felt like the story would've been more enjoyable if the author spent more time marinating it and showing what was going on, instead of telling us. But on the flipside, I appreciate that they knew this was just a quick piece of... more>> work and didn't spend too much time on annoying drama and just got to the point.

TLDR: a decent time killer if you have nothing to read. (Around about an hour's read time) <<less

So, this was fun - like the other reviewers mentioned, it's pretty mindless and simple; but it's enjoyable nonetheless. So for what kind of story it is, I'll rate it highly. Is it worth 4 stars compared to other excellent works? No, but it can be considered 4 stars among short stories of this type.

My only complaint is that the author didn't give any kind of indication of the MC's thoughts or feelings about events during the first half - I get that the author didn't want to spoil the... more>> plot twist, but all it needed was just an indication that the MC wasn't being helplessly ab*sed and humiliated without having consciously decided to go through with the marriage for other reasons to make the reader feel less uncomfortable. Because I honestly almost stopped reading; it was just too excessive, and she never gave any indication that she had ever considered canceling the engagement, regardless of his actions, which honestly made her seem pretty s*upid, with absolutely zero sense of self-worth or self-respect. Just indicating that she HAD thought about it, but chosen to go through with it after weighing the pros and cons wouldn't have spoiled anything; but it would have made her character feel less one-dimensional during the first part of the story. <<less
