I really like this novel, because of its simplicity, not trying to be over-the-top drama, or making some unrealistic characters, so the reader could self-insert or something, because this alienated otaku with an inferiority complex, who is kinda nice to other people "is literally me".

The story is about a boy, raised by his grandma because his parents died in a car accident. You could think that it would try to make you pity MC because he is so lonely because of that - but that's not the case at all.... more>> Yes, he doesn't have parents, but that doesn't mean he has to be some sad and lonely boy. Since his grandma is raising him with a lot of affection, he has a pretty normal, yet a bit poor financially-wise, upbringing. His grandma really put emphasis on teaching him all kinds of housework, so he could do well in life, so MC decided to get a part-time job as a housekeeper during his summer break since he wanted to save a bit of money for college. Just a pretty normal guy, from a normal, loving family.

FMC comes from a well of family. Both of her parents are CEOs of their companies, so sometimes they have to go on a business trip for a few days. And again - people, who've read a bit of novels etc. Could expect that the girl is lonely because her parents don't have a lot of time for her or something like that. And again - those people would be wrong. Her parents really care about her and her little brother, they try to spend as much time as possible with them and overall this is a perfectly healthy loving family.

As you probably know from the synopsis of this work, MC starts working as a housekeeper for FMC, and they slowly fall in love. But if I'm being honest, I think the plot is not that important. What's important for me is how this novel doesn't expect me to believe in some BS like characters falling for each other for no reason whatsoever, doesn't bombard me with some trauma dumping from oh-so-ever unhappy protagonists, trying to be over-the-top with its characters, or just make those characters unreasonable to begin with.

I find it really enjoyable, because of its simplicity and not commencing in some over-the-top unreasonable and just dumb BS. Characters are really likable, they have their own cares and worries, but those are not overwhelming to the reader, so we can just focus on a really cute high school love story, between a smart, yet poor boy and just a cute girl from a wealthy family. <<less

I think the author is laying it on a bit thick by having both the MC's and FL's best friends respectively suggest a relationship between them before they even interact. There was sufficient cause for them to become conscious of another even without that much "outside help".

Other than that, it's a very sweet story that's surprisingly not a mere wish-fulfillment.

The core of the story is of course the main romance and it even introduces some other girls interested in the MC, but so far he hasn't really paid much attention... more>> to them, so they mostly serve as a device to show his popularity. In this regard as well he's not a typical gloomy loner MC however.

But more importantly, it's not just about the MC and FL growing closer, but also to her entire family. The MC grew up with his grandparents and without siblings, and even his grandfather died at some point, and the FL's family is gradually filling the place of a family that he never got to experience for himself.

It's very well written so far, characters are not one-dimensional, the dialogues are entertaining, and the story moves at a reasonable pace.

Other than the initial coincidence of doing housekeeping for a rich and beautiful girl in the first place, there have been no relevant unnatural developments.

There's not much translated yet, but I'm looking forward to reading more of it. <<less

This is a mediocre "boys meets girl" story I wouldn't recommend even to kill time.

Since "mid is worse than bad" is at play here, rather than having some terrible off-putting quality, it just doesn't have any that interesting. I also feel the story as a whole lacks a north.

The character interactions (bar family) feel believable and nice. Head-turning appearance aside, the protagonists feel grounded and without unrealistic flaws or quirks.

However, the purported selling point, her family, is cringey. They just met him, is the first day into the job, and... more>> the parents are already half-joking about stuff for when you are in an actual relationship and not just classmates, and barely acquaintances. It was being rushed. <<less
