Yu Yi found herself transmigrated into a female protagonist in a xianxia novel, destined to suffer both physically and emotionally.

The entire novel was 800,000 words long. For 700,000 words, she endured extreme torment. In the remaining 100,000 words, the heroine reconciled with her past, found true love without regrets, and achieved a happy ending with the male lead.

Yu Yi absolutely refused to be this pitiful scapegoat.

To avoid the main plot, she adhered to the basic principle of “where he is, I am not; where I am, he is not.” She laid low in her sect, dodging every opportunity to encounter the male lead.

Five years passed, and she finally severed this ill-fated connection.

The male lead married someone else. Yu Yi let out three wild laughs as she stepped out of the sect gates, happily rushing towards the colorful world outside.

However, she didn’t expect that in her excessive joy, she would accidentally stumble upon the mu*der scene of the main villain.

Yu Yi hid in the bushes, watching Xue Chenjing, dressed in white robes now stained with blood, slowly crushing someone’s skull. She was so terrified she didn’t dare to breathe.

In the dead silence, a noisy voice suddenly rang out: [Master, look quick! It’s your wife! Your wife has finally come online. Isn’t she adorable, curled up and hiding in the bushes like that?]

Yu Yi was shocked: Surely it can’t be referring to me?

[She’s even wearing a red dress, matching couple outfits with you.]

Yu Yi clutched her pomegranate-red skirt tightly, glancing at the hem of Xue Chenjing’s robe. What couple outfit? Isn’t that just stained red with blood?

Xue Chenjing flicked the blood from his fingertips, his gaze sweeping towards the bushes. He asked in bewilderment, “Whose wife?”

The system pulled out a masterpiece of literature, tapping the cover and asserting confidently: [Your wife.]

Feel like this one deserves a higher rating :)

I enjoyed the dynamic between the leads, and they go through a lot of character development throughout the story. My favorite thing about the FL is that she treats everyone fairly, regardless of what faction they belong to, and does not let anyone emotionally manipulate her. She is firmly committed to her own principles, never bending to the will of others. She grows stronger on her own and does not let the ML overpower her.

ML is undoubtedly a villain (it's literally... more>> in the title) at the start of the story, but he grows and changes to become a better person for the FL. Instead of your typical cold and aloof personality, he's clingy and also a big crybaby haha. I really felt for him as the story progressed, his backstory is so sad ;; So glad they have a HE!! <<less

I actually enjoy this story so far! Its incredibly unique: the system that usually binds to transmigrated protagonists actually bound to the villain! And we still follow the female lead as she tries to escape from him, since she wants to live outside the fate of the plot. Definitely some morally questionable things done by the villain, but in my opinion it makes it better since villains are supposed to be bad, and I like that the story fully plays into that.

The FL transmigrate into the FL in a book that tormenate the FL until she had a happy ending with the ML who did tormenate her the most, so she decided to leave and run away from all of this!

But the author let her fall in the same thing, the different is that it's with the 2nd ML the villain!

This 2nd ML, really a villain, really disgusting! I tried to give him a chance for him to maybe get better, but no, he is totally bad, totally disgusting.

If the author... more>> would let the FL get rid of him and then get with another man who deserve her, I would have indure this, but obvious that she want to let them be the romantic couple, and he will remain as he is, and even if he change later on he will not be able to change the facts that he did so many harm and bad things for her! <<less

ML is legit a tentacle monster, and it’s gross. Yeah. Detracted a star for this. I can’t tell you the extent of the grossness since I speed-scrolled past everything but be warned.

He’s also very weird. Makes sense since he’s not human (to clarify: his form is human). Kudos to Yu Yi for loving him, sheesh. Well, he’s mildly endearing if you’re into the evil toddler type. Big bawling baby. No, but actually the best part of him is how much he cries. Fighting toxic masculinity one tear at a time.

Anyways,... more>> I guess I enjoy the overarching storyline. The system being attached to ML is amusing and leads to some funny interactions.

The romance was not really to my liking but it was entertaining for sure. Like I said, ML is a total toddler, so it’s fun to see him rampage around and make a mess around MC.

4/5 might be generous but I don’t want to stop anyone from reading this novel if they find the description appealing.

Some spoiler-y thoughts:

Spoiler

Ok but the second dude was done dirty and I don’t think the author realized how miserable they made his life. I'm pretty sure they really wanted the readers to pity the ML but he’s just so much more unlikable and the second guy practically had to suffer the same stuff as ML. Honestly I wish they just made up and were cute lil friends again like they were in childhood.

This one is so goodd 😭😭

The plot is not draggy in my opinion. The pacing is great, but you might be a little bit impatient for the romance development because it will leave you on the edgee.

ML character development is the biggest here, along with the FL too. The end of the story is
Spoiler

HE with a little bit of open ending

[collapse]

FL might look a little bit of indifferent but her tolerance toward ML getting looser and looser haha.

The story is wonderful. The characters are deeply written. No one is unambiguous. The villain is cute, the hero is muddy, the heroine is wonderful. Very interesting.

The romance was meh and I feel the author lost inspiration by the end of the novel, but my god their adventures and their push and pull interactions where fun and novel to read. The author did such a good job on their power dynamics.

Minus points for making the ML a tentable monster and having the s*x scenes being fade to black, what a tease of an author or I guess censorship striking yet again. And fear not fellow squimish readers, they where consentacles! While there was much nocon grabbing... more>> at the beggining when the ML was literally kidnapping FL, the ML was literally incapable of feeling s*xual desire at the time and FL did not feel sexually threatened.

And as usual you will feel so bad for the second ML, dang was he such a good person and his life so sad, but at least he was Free by the end!

The ML was indeed a evil toddler but he did made himself enderable eventually one tear at a time and still it was very enjoyable to see him literally in pain by the FL attacks and flail around so out of his deep in courting.
Spoiler

His abandoing any and all Dignity for the mission and later the FL was hilarious and I am still giggling on the FL feeling so hungry and petty that one time while fleeing that she took a bite out one his fried tent**les and the ML got equally offended over her doing it and insulting his flavour.

[collapse]

The FL was level headed, resourful and never truly helpless. <<less

all main characters are so well-written and their character development is so touching!! It's one of the biggest reasons you should try this story. The lore and world-building were also done well. The romance is slow burn but the end is just so worth it :) they're the cutest couple ever!! Over all a great story <3

The rating is unfairly low!

The novel is beautifully written and the plot is very original. I suppose the low rating is caused by personal preferences for the ML. He is quite something, but I like it haha

If you are okay with clingy (kinda tsundere?) ML, who first approached the FL lead with bad intentions (but also falls for her first) - you’re gonna be okay.

not the most merciless villain in fact, moreover I think I had a few novels with more unhealthy dynamics. So... if you like to watch boys... more>> cry and then be happy - highly recommend! Very refreshing, don’t fear the low rating - if you fell that you are okay with the ML behavior in the beginning, everything else is okay, he becomes better as the novel goes on <<less

This did seem like a straightforward cultivation novel where the main character is trying to avoid the storyline, but it had a lot of surprising developments and made me cry so much. The characters are so well written. Now that I finished it, it all makes sense and I kind of want to re- read it so I can catch the subtle developments of their relationships now that I know the whole backstory. Definitely recommend!

I like how the ML is so shameless and disregards his dignity for the FL lol, and it’s also refreshing to see an ML who easily cries. The way he does everything just to make the FL like him, and then gets frustrated to the point of crying out of grievance.
