Why Did I Have to Transmigrate as the Villain’s Younger Brother?

I found myself transmigrated into the fantasy novel “From Transmigration to Hero.”

And not just as any character, but as Sean, the younger brother of the Villain Raizen—and the one who would eventually be killed by him.

“An extra who’s already dead by the time the main story starts… seriously?”

But despairing over it wouldn’t help, especially since Sean stood to inherit a fortune.

So, I clenched my teeth and resolved to survive.

[Quest:

Call Raizen “Big Brother” three times or more: 30/3

Spend at least 30 minutes with Raizen: 120/30

Hold Raizen’s hand for at least 5 seconds: 0/5

Reward: Access to From Transmigration to Hero’s main text and Raizen: Bonus Chapter]

Even with these ridiculous quests, I managed to complete them somehow.

All for the sake of survival, I acted as harmless as possible, pretending to be the little brother utterly devoted to Raizen.

But then…

“You’ve manifested as a Recessive Omega.”

Suddenly, an unexpected setting that didn’t exist in the original story appeared.

“You said it yourself. That you and I are the only two people in this world.”

Even after I barely managed to escape, the villain chased me down to where I was hiding?!

Although it's definitely not good, it's not especially bad either. Personally, nothing disengages me from a story faster than bad naming. A ducal house called Pantheon? An ancient god called Noir who's true name is "Noah"? Borrowing foreign names to establish a western fantasy setting isn't anything new for non-western authors, but there's not even a vague attempt to make it consistent or sensible. What's next an emperor named Elvis or a demon king named Jimmy? And like the names, everything else is just as sloppy. Despite there being multiple... more>> story elements in need of development, from the existence of gods and demons, magic, empires and their nobility, the original novel's plot, and omegaverse genders, none of them end up substantially developed. It took nearly 40 chapters before the author even bothered to elaborate on the marquisate our main character belongs to and even that was done superficially. Seriously, rather than flesh out the world these characters are set in, more and more time is dedicated to the MC's internal monologue, which mostly consists of an ongoing identity crisis and his increasing inability to differentiate the ML from his first love. This story also suffers from many of the flaws common to Korean BL slop, which includes but is not limited to random transitions between scenes, lack of distinct descriptions for settings or characters, major characters acting like they have an IQ under 40, and the BL equivalent of Oblivion NPC dialogue between most characters. 59 chapters in, and in the whole ducal household we're aware of six people in the estate. Not a single interaction between the MC and a cook, a maid, a stable hand, a guard, a gardener, or any other servant you might expect in a duke's mansion. The world feels empty, and characters and major plot points are just made up as we teleport from one place to the next. The only good thing is that despite being ABO we haven't had to wade through chapter after chapter of omegaverse tropes, but I have a strong feeling after they have their awakening ceremony (gender reveal party at 14, lmao) it'll devolve into a nonstop slog of "omega", "alpha", "recessive", "dominant", "pheromone", as if it couldn't get more boring. <<less

So far I think the Novel is a great read. This a slow burn novel with over 200 chapters so I don't think you need to really develop all characters so fast so for the pace how the author fleshed out the character is amazing.

But best part of this is Sei's monologue. The way he feels like floating not attached to the world without wanting to go home. It feels like the first time he is feeling human love other than the brother who disappeared in the other world. Unlike... more>> most of manhwas where protagonist just goes along with the fact that he transmigrated in this one he goes through severe imposter syndrome.

I even cried a few times with how well his emotions are brought out. I am glad this is in 3 rd person perspective cause Sei would make a terrible narrator

Also Raizen my child you better not do something you would regret cause I swear to God I am going in the novel to smack the hell out of you

So hope you liked it. Long time reader first time reviewer <<less
