Mu Qiandan transmigrated into a book, becoming a typical, cookie-cutter Jinjiang master.

Her identity is that of the vicious female supporting character. Her main tasks are threefold:

Raise the female protagonist—Sacrifice the female protagonist—Die by the female protagonist’s hand.

The ultimate goal is to prevent the protagonist from tearing open the sky and destroying the world.

System: The supporting character’s job is very simple, just follow the instructions.

Mu Qiandan: ……

She looked at the little dragon child waiting to be raised, turmoil brewing in her heart.

Damn it, why do you get to be the protagonist?

**

The mission is difficult from the start, because the disciple is not easy to raise.

Especially when said disciple is a bitey, always-hungry, constantly-talking-back future dragon god who can devour eight bowls of rice in one sitting.

The system suggests using love and affection. Mu Qiandan, lacking patience, resorts to physical discipline, punching the child so hard she gets stuck in the wall.

Well, children learn best under strict discipline, right?

But… why is the little disciple becoming more and more attached to her?

And asking for hugs! Terrifying!

**

Mu Qiandan is cold-hearted, jealous, sharp-tongued, hates everyone, and is disliked in return.

Transmigrating to another world hasn’t changed these bad habits.

“Betraying kindness, refusing to help those in need, indiscriminate killing, Yao’e Immortal’s crimes are countless; she deserves death!”

Mu Qiandan listens, and agrees.

Severely injured and unable to heal, she lies alone in the snow, lamenting the failures of her two lives.

Unexpectedly, the disciple she bullied the most hugs her tightly, tears streaming down their face.

“I love you, don’t go.”

**

“System, what’s our mission called?”

“Your codename is: [Nuwa] .”

“The mission name is: [Mend the Sky] .”

Kicking immortals, slaying demons, hunting strange beasts, fighting ghosts, and falling in love along the way.

“You should use the respectful ‘nin’ when addressing Master.”

“Does that feel good, Master?”

“…Shut up.”

Short Summary: Master, don’t be so arrogant.

Theme: What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.

I really enjoyed this novel! The plot and writing style is a lot different from typical baihe tropes, so it felt like a breath of fresh air. The foreshadowing, character development, and constant unravelling of the mysteries of the world-building really did not make this 300+ chapter feel long. I will say though, the main character is a class A as*hole and that doesn't really change as the text goes on (but we find out later why she's the way she is, and there is some pity/ Sympathy there). Honestly... more>> I ended up finding it kind of funny when she would end up doing the most absolutely evil thing in a given scene, because it's almost comical how it's like, author: hmm, how can I make sure the readers don't get the idea that she's becoming a better person. But I think the novel was a very good exploration of how a vicious cannon fodder villain would feel, think, and react given the scenario they attain self-awareness and realize they're an unlucky s*ave to fate. The MC also has her merits - she's very competent when it comes to her calculations and plans. Hoping to read the extras once the author releases them on jwxcc because ending definitely felt a bit short. <<less
